How does one take a Breath Before Surfacing? Huh?

beans 02-02-2008 05:57 PM

very carefully

i am the robots 02-02-2008 05:58 PM

it happens when people are drowning or about to drown, youre kind of out of it from lack of oxygen and you might think youre out of the water before you are and swallow a ton of water

Dimmu Burger 02-02-2008 06:00 PM

We went to Ocean City, MD. It's pretty ghetto.

i am the robots 02-02-2008 06:07 PM

ocean city, md is awesome for partying

ocean city, nj is a dry town and in new jersey

Yeah I did my senior week and my old girlfriend's senior week at OC, MD and it can be fun if you have a lot of friends there.

adb 02-03-2008 03:13 AM

saw Carnifex tonight that was fun. WBCC was meh just like on cd, and A different breed of killer had all kinds of problems with their amps or something and only played 2 songs, they seemed pissed.

adb 02-03-2008 03:42 AM
theyre alright but i dont see where you'd get the "core" from
listened again (wow, I really like this band) and umm, I don't know, possibly the breakdowns in both songs?

Another good technical deathcore band imo. My personal favorite sub-sub genre.

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:00 AM

breakdowns like that have nothing to do with hardcore though :/

adb 02-03-2008 04:31 AM

ahh, I knew you were gonna say that. If burning the masses is considered deathcore, I think ABBS is too.

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:32 AM

well no, burning the masses has tuffguy parts, ABBS doesnt

adb 02-03-2008 05:46 AM

ur mom has tuffguy parts. LAWLS.

seriously though, whatever. Whatever you'd label them as, I like it.

Carnifex's album is good. It was recommended to me by iTunes and then I pirated it, ownage!

thats cool, im just saying this isnt the right thread to discuss thme :/

try the melo-death thread

Dimmu Burger 02-03-2008 03:18 PM

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...

GENRE WARS
EPISODE...GOD KNOWS BY NOW: A NEW HOPE

It was a hard time for the deathcore thread with people talking about melo-death all of the time.

But there is hope for the galaxy as a young jedi named I Am The Robots has arrived to resolve the problem...

LifeInABox 02-03-2008 03:20 PM

....

masscows 02-03-2008 03:20 PM

Hmm I kind of like Burning the Masses, surprisingly

and mappy I don't see why you care if people discuss "melodeath with breakdowns" or whatever the hell you want to call it in here since most of it's associated with the same scene/shares a fan base with deathcore.

DJTeeLay 02-03-2008 04:19 PM

Old Through the Eyes of the Dead is amazing.

New stuff is mediocre at best.

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:20 PM

Through the Eyes Of The Dead =/= deathcore in the slightest.

They sound almost exactly like the ****ing Black Dahlia Murder but they have breakdowns a brutal parts.

Squirrel 02-03-2008 04:28 PM

wut

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:29 PM

malice aside, of course, but thats not really TTEOTD anyway.

TTEOTD has some preeeety brutal parts

Squirrel 02-03-2008 04:34 PM
malice aside, of course, but thats not really TTEOTD anyway.
man

i still love malice so much more than anything else theyve done

that production totally nails it for me

and i cant find a breakdown a prefer more than the ones in failure in the flessh, as good as dead, pull the trigger and the big one: catastrophe of epic proportions

any recommendations?

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:37 PM

well yeah, but i dont see how its deathcore is all, its just melodeath + breakdowns/brutal parts

and if youre digging malice still idk, they had breakdowns like that on the annihilation and bloodlust i know, but im drawing a blank as to other bands with breaks like that, knights of the abyss maybe?

Squirrel 02-03-2008 04:39 PM

nah i was like, wut tteotd songs may grab me, maybe i just picked the worser ones of the albums

i just downloaded some songs at random

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:41 PM

Abyssal Creation, Reconstruction Of The Female Anatomy, Erratic Perception, Two Inches From A Main Artery, When Everything Becomes Nothing, Beneath Dying Skies, Autumn Tint Of Gold, To Take Comfort (In Yesterday's Scars)

Squirrel 02-03-2008 04:43 PM

Their melodic parts don't really sound like TBDM much...and their earlier stuff had way, way better drumming and vocals than TBDM could dream of and a hell of alot more variety/better songwriting.

and wtf@leaving out Truest Shade of Crimson mappy

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:51 PM

a lot of the melodic parts on bloodlust and malice are tbdm styled

the stuff rich wrote was different though

like seriously, just listen to two inches from a main artery

Squirrel 02-03-2008 04:52 PM

he knows ive heard that one

I only listened to Bloodlust once so I don't really remember. Most of it is really bland.

Ashes 02-03-2008 04:53 PM

I finally just checked out the new AILD...not sure what to think. There's a bit too much uninteresting filler tunage on it, but I like the improved guitarwork.

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:54 PM

metalcore thread kthx
