what if he has a bigass home theatre setup with a projector and shi?

then it's like a theatre but without the arseholes that talk during the movie

which is, incedentally, something I'm frequently guilty of if the movie isn't too good
Sbt : why do you waste your time. Regardless of your opinion, Its falling on deaf ears.
Waste my time, talking to you? So you don't want me to talk to you. Ok, so in escence your presence on the boards can only be attributed to - you like pissing people off.

kurrpt 06-21-2006 06:57 AM

my girl has the habbit of asking questions and talking. She gets perturbed when i tell her to stfu

Not really. He's just digging himself into this pseudo-masculine hole of his, where he's so badass because he doesn't care about anyone.

OT: Sweet jesus balls, hows it do non-heavey rock stuff?

i thought i made it pretty clear that I use it for my personal enjoyment, and cant really be arsed to care about some random internet peoples personal opinion of me, or how i feel about spending my time.

Frankly, your conversations directed at me have been of this nature for a considerable amount of time. I can't say I would miss them if they cease and desist, but I would let that judgement call up to you

I went to see Scary Movie 3 when it first came out, and I've never been so angered by people in a cinema before in my life.

About 5 lads turned up, sat behind me, my sister, my sister's boyfriend, and just made incredibly stupid inane complaints through the film, kicked the chair and stuff. One of them moaned loudly that they needed a cigarette when I eventually told them to piss off, but it didn't really help much. Film ruined.

S'what I usually play...and it = awesome

Honestly, I thought I'd regret buying it, on paper it lacked the versatility, power and features of my old set-up. In the flesh, its more versatile, as powerul and the features are forgetable.

I'll maybe hook up some clips this weekend, I get my good camera back and can borrow a mic if that idea fails...

AG 06-21-2006 07:02 AM

I hate those people.

SBT and Kurrpt, stop it. Now.

Everything I've heard about Hard Candy makes me think it'll make me wince.

Ceased and desisted.

I no longer will have any activity with you.

kurrpt 06-21-2006 07:04 AM

when i saw da vinci code the day it came out, there was this hispanic couple that were having a conversation at normal speaking levels. It persisted for about 5 minutes, and you could just tell people were lighting them on fire with their eyes..

anyway, this dude, in a real firm voice said "DO YOU MIND! We're trying to watch the movie here"

It caught the couple so off guard that they walked out of the theater. After the film was over, i was expecting to see some burly, bulk-head of a man, but it turned out to be a wussy white boy. I was impressed to say the least

I haven't seen a trailer for this 'Hard Candy;, what's the gist of it?

I usually talk quietly enough that only the people directly around me can hear

It's just that if a film can't hold my attention I look for other things to do

I don't complain loudly or anything

Sad But True 06-21-2006 07:09 AM

If a film doesn't get my attention, I walk out, and go see whats on in the other screens.

i have no problem with the random isolated comment. its when people hold a conversation with total disregard for human decency that really urkes me. Considering how much it can irritate me, I try not to add to the noise. It pisses my girl off when i tell her to shut up, but i think im within reason

Dylan S 06-21-2006 07:13 AM

Sup guys?

Just got back from town at night time. Had a few beers. It was good. What's goin' on here then?

AG 06-21-2006 07:14 AM

Hard Candy:

An older guy from the internet meets up with younger girl. They go back to his flat.

They have a drink.

He wakes up tied to a chair and is tortured and stuff by the 14 year old girl. Apparently he's done stuff like this before and needs punishing.

Sad But True 06-21-2006 07:14 AM

Discussing how crappy people can be at cinemas.

AG: Holy shit, that sounds....contraversial

SirSpamalot 06-21-2006 07:15 AM

hmm I'm usually low enough that people don't get mad

and it's not actually that frequent either

I know what you're talking about though

that does piss me off

Insomniac20k 06-21-2006 07:16 AM

SirSpamalot 06-21-2006 07:17 AM

It's ok if the theatre's not packed, but if you're doing it next to people then you are a misserable human being.
Hayley is a pretty, intelligent 14-year old, who like most American teenagers spends quite a lot of time online. She’s been chatting – flirting - for a few weeks now with a guy called Jeff, and they agree to meet IRL. In a coffee shop, Hayley is surprised and pleased that Jeff, a 32-year old photographer, is attractive and charming, and the two get along famously. Hayley seems like a typical precocious teenager, giggly and pleased with the attention from a good-looking older guy, occasionally awkward, sometimes outrageous.

Hayley wants to go to Jeff’s house – he has a bootleg MP3 of the Goldfrapp concert that she’s dying to see. When they get to his home – a lovely house in the hills overlooking Los Angeles, walls lined with his work (shots of nubile teenagers) – she breaks out the vodka and asks him to take her picture. They talk about his work, flirt some more… and then Jeff starts to feel queasy, faint, and passes out. When he wakes up, its clear that playtime is over.

For Hayley is, in fact, a sort of self-appointed vigilante – determined to avenge and protect every child, every girl who has ever been abused – and she has plans for Jeff that will ensure that he never approaches a girl again…

Yah, looks good. Apparently there are lots of scenes with the guy getting his johnson sliced up.

V for Vendetta was pretty good.

kurrpt 06-21-2006 07:19 AM

i havent made out with a chick for MANY years in a theater. Seems like a lifetime ago..

now im reduced to taking little kids to see "Cars" and making constant trips for drinks/candy/bathroom breaks

How was Cars? Doesn't look like one of Pixar's best.

Meatplow 06-21-2006 07:22 AM

I just watched the Mummy with Boris Karloff in it. Scary.

Sad But True 06-21-2006 07:22 AM

I liked V, but I had to travel 60 miles to see it. Apparently, it was too political to be shown in Stoke, because
A) Stoke is apparently full of stupid people and
B) there are bombings that "would insult the muslim community"

kurrpt 06-21-2006 07:23 AM

i thought it was boring as hell actually. The "funny" parts seemed forced to me, and the movie progressed so slow that i was surprised i didnt fall asleep.

Yea I watched it. I thought it was really good. I thought there was a bit too much thinkining involved for the viewer but it was still great.

It's a horrible concept. They need to make a Toy Story 3 already.

EDIT: It's seems they are making one.... Buzz Lightyear gets recalled :(
It's ok if the theatre's not packed, but if you're doing it next to people then you are a misserable human being.
I don't see a problem unless she starts moaning

then everybody looks at you two funny

kurrpt 06-21-2006 07:27 AM

pixar could make any movie, animate it, put in some semi-famous actors, and still my 60 million its opening week.

I will say they had this short film in the beginning of the movie that was fantastic. It was about a one-man-band in France, playing 8 instruments at once, trying to get a gold coin from a little girl. Then another one-man-band dude shows up playing the violin, and they had a battle.

No words, with decent music as well.

Insomniac20k 06-21-2006 07:28 AM

They always have some cool shorts.

Echoes of I Spit On Your Grave?

What do people think of that movie? I thought it was fairly plodding but it picked up towards the end. Johnson :p love that word.

SirSpamalot 06-21-2006 07:29 AM

I like disney/kids movies when they slip in more mature jokes that the kids won't get

but lately it seems they haven't been doing that

AG 06-21-2006 07:32 AM

I haven't seen I spit on your Grave.

Seemed to me like a film that got cult following just because it was put on the video nasties list in the 80's.
