And with a penis, I hope. I think as far as Clash material goes, I have the most out of anyone here though.
Religious Vomit is such a f.ucking great song... did Jello write it? And did he write Moral Majority, because neither one seems very Jello-ish...?
He wrote Moral Majority, 6025 wrote Religious Vomit, which is my favourite DK song. |
It may be my new favorite.
Did Klaus write any DK songs? |
He wrote the words to Dog Bite
|
Awesome, I love Dog Bite.
But wait... was 6025 still in the band by In God We Trust? |
6025 was in the band for the first 3 albums I think. He might not've been around for PSD.
|
He left at around '79 (someone posted an interview with EBR who explains it all). He wanted to go in a different direction with the music (as you can tell through such songs as Ill in the Head or Gaslight), so he left.
|
He is disabled now as well.

Anyone have the recent (I think it was either early this year or last year) Jello/The Melvins release? I've got some of it on my comp, not sure if it is worth $15 yet.
The stuff he did with Mojo Nixon is just amazing, I love that sh*t. But the ultimate is the one time No WTO Combo, I wish I can find the recording for that. |
i bought fffrv in february and it hasnt left my cd player yet
|
My download of DMPOs On Broadway DVD is is 50%, this will take awhile. And I'm not YSIing that because of its massive size.

No WTO Combo is awesome, I have that on my computer. AT may still sell copies, but I doubt it. You can buy the No WTO Combo album here: http://alternativetentacles.com/product.php?product=348 |
Here is some Jello news:
06/15/05: Jello and Napalm Death duet for tsunami victims! Jello Biafra has guest vocals on the Napalm Death song, "The Great And The Good" on their brand new record, "The Code is Red... Long Live the Code"! The tune was also released as a limited-edition 3 band benefit single for Indian Ocean Tsunami relief . The other two tracks are from The Haunted ("Smut King") and Heaven Shall Burn ("Strassenkampf" [a Die Skeptikercover]). The bands and Jello Biafra wrote liner-notes for the single, which is limited to 1000 copies.
I'm downloading the album, the track should be interesting. |
Nick YSI it the song. I listened to part of that ND album a while ago.
|
I shall, once it finishes.
It doesn't seem like it would match. Jello's voice with grind/death metal/whatever ND is now |
Yeah, I'm assuming it's just group vocals he happens to be in.

There it is. I listened to it and it was good. He does the introduction plus some chrous vocals. It's quite odd to hear his voice mixed in with the chaotic noise ND make. |
I like this song. I can't hear Jello in the song, unless I haven't got to him yet, err there he is.
|
Yeah he is later on, and it's pretty obvious when it is him.
|
I'm sure this has been pointed out but Peligro is a way better drummer than Ted, or whoever drummed on Fresh Fruit.
/decided to use this account |
I'm sure this has been pointed out but Peligro is a way better drummer than Ted, or whoever drummed on Fresh Fruit.
/decided to use this account
DH is much faster. I don't know much about drumming, but I'd go as far as saying you are correct. |
Yea. He made the music sound a ton heavier too.
|
DH did some background vocals for some of the songs I saw on the DMPOs on Broadway DVD.
PS. The DVD is awesome. |
DMPO's?
p.s. Of course it is. How could a DK dvd not be awesome? |
DMPO's?
p.s. Of course it is. How could a DK dvd not be awesome?
DMPO was the sponser or something. Or just a group of bands that played that final show, I'm not sure. Jello's acting school shows on stage with his hand movements and acting out songs. |

This is a pretty good interview with Peligro. I never knew he was in the Chilli Peppers and they played Police Truck live. |
Here is three versions of Dreadlocks of the Suburbs if anyone wants them

Four more years of the same old garbage! Why don't we just instill the draft for some of the Republicans' kids? All the people who voted for him - why don't THEY go to war? And their kids go to war? So they can get to feel what it's like?-DH, Thats a very good quote.

Dead Kennedys
I was just listening to I fought The Law (And I Won) And Viva Las Vegas both great punk covers. I was wondering who else is a Big DK fan?
|
Everyone here.
|
Captain obvious to the rescue.
|
I Fought the Law (and I won) is about a corrupt cop, right? I remember hearing something like that.
I Fought the Law (and I won) is about a corrupt cop, right? I remember hearing something like that.
It's about the Twinkie defense story. Dan White, a former San Francisco supervisor went in to City Hall and shot and killed Harvey Milk, the first openly gay city supervisor in San Francisco, and the mayor of San Francisco, George Moscone ("I blew George & Harvey's brains out with my six-gun"). He killed the mayor first then he went down the city supervisors offices, passing by Diane Feinstein (later mayor of SF, Jello's opponet in the 79 election, now senator of CA) on to find Harvey Milk and shoot and kill him too. When tried his attorneys used the defense that White's depression that lead to the assassination was because of him eating Twinkies ("Twinkies are the best friend I've ever had") Other lines in the song are general police corruption stuff. |
What a bunch of shitty attorneys. I had a feeling it was something about corruption and stuff. "I am the law so I won."
|
Ah the Dead Kennedys is and always will be the best political punk band in my book
by the way Rawhide funny as hell |
Jello is definately my hero. I wish I knew someone as cool as he is. "Vote for me or I'll kill myself." That pretty much sums it all up.
Anyway, my friend (and his dad) have heard of a large protest in DC on September 24, where Jello will be speaking for Operation Cease-Fire. I plan to go, and hopefully see him. Just thought I should put that out there. |
does anyone listen to the Melvins, Jello's other band?
|
HAhahah, it's not his other band. Just a band he sang some songs with, like Nomeansno.
|
sorry, no need to laugh in my face ...
|
Don't face the moniter, then it won't be in your face.
|
haha ill take that into consideration
