Josh 10-05-2006 04:53 PM

i thought Bach's band pwnd live, does he actually still perform under the band name Skid Row or not?

and being in the 3rd row dead centre when GNR eventually came on was (although painful) an unforgettable experience, as i was only a few feet away from Axl

Josh 10-05-2006 05:02 PM
No, Johnny Solinger fronts Skid Row now. He performs under The Sebastian Bach Band with current and former members of Halford, Testament, Iced Earth and Death. He can't write a song to save his life though, which is unfortunate considering how great a singer he is.

Anyway, my girlfriend is going to see GNR in Chicago next month and she might get to go backstage :(
she's probably faithful, but you probably want to send her with a few condoms....:p

it is a shame Bach can't write songs, although live he absoloutely pwnd :)

blue3 10-05-2006 06:30 PM

What songs did he play? I can't wait to see him live.. from the level 2 view.

Slave to the grind, 18 and life, I remember you, youth gone wild, piece of me, a couple of as-yet-unreleased tracks, monkey business, and i think quicksand jesus, and maybe some others as well. very very tight live act.

blue3 10-05-2006 06:39 PM

That's awesome. I love Skid Row.

I don't have a girlfriend. I win.

blue3 10-05-2006 06:49 PM

Haha, at least you were up front for GNR.

Josh 10-05-2006 07:44 PM

heh, i had Sebastian Bach and Izzy Stradlin, me > Plath :p
but i need sleep now :( so i'm going

Kyle 10-06-2006 05:59 AM

^^Thoughts on the new info?

Kyle 10-20-2006 12:01 PM

How do I get to the ad?

edit: got it, sounds great :thumb:

blue3 10-20-2006 11:42 PM

Hah. Apparently there's a car commercial with Slash randomly being there. I still haven't seen it.

guns_n_roses=Slash+Axl 10-24-2006 11:28 PM

i am so pissed gnr isn't playing near kelowna british columbia. ugg. for novemer 21 i hope so. in case you guys haven't heard bachs new album is coming out he has written the material with even seinfield. I have heard the good verisons of better and catcher in the rye and they are amazing. how long do you guys think axl is going to keep his cornrows? i prefer w/o the cornrows.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-25-2006 03:07 AM

Yesterday I was sitting in the Cafeteria inbetween class, and the November Rain video came on the TV screens

TojesDolan 10-25-2006 11:34 AM

So... Chinese Democracy will come out in November?

*excitement*

Kyle 10-25-2006 01:41 PM

Apparantly, but I can't get excited until I have an official release date.

When that happens though, i'll go nuts.

adamstartin 10-25-2006 02:11 PM

The new leaked demo is kinda meh. Out of the 10 songs, theres like 3-4 really brillaint ones, about 3 awful ones and the rest are average.

Kyle 10-25-2006 09:02 PM

What are you referring to?

adamstartin 10-26-2006 11:52 AM
What are you referring to?
The leaked chinese democracy demo cd thingy, it has 10 tracks on it, about 3 of which are live tracks. Better is sounding very good, as is the title track, oh my god and t.w.a.t.

r0wney 10-26-2006 02:33 PM

i am seeing them in december. w00t \m/ X_X \m/

Kyle 10-27-2006 09:23 PM

Ya, that's pretty old  But yeah, some good stuff on there.

Kyle 11-01-2006 11:02 AM

Oh my god, I read the article, but didn't realise it had been pulled. What the hell is wrong with them?! Grr!

Surtr 11-21-2006 08:15 PM

So, the GNR Halifax show = Amazing.

New GNR > Old GNR.
Reaally? How so? What did they play?
Opened with Welcome to the Jungle..

and after that I'm not sure of the order lol.

Sweet Child
You Could Be Mine
November Rain
Rocket Queen
Knockin' On Heaven's Door

And pretty much every song that you'd expect them to play..and they played The Blues, which was insane, because Dizzy did this HUGE Piano solo on the grand piano and at the end, he stops, then starts again and the whole band comes in playin' The Blues.

They ended with Patience, and then did O' Canada lol.

All the new guitarists are better than Slash or Stradlin. I went into the concert certain that it'd be average, but it was pure amazing.

And my god, Axl can sing better than he could 15 years ago. Mind blowing experience for sure.

blue3 11-22-2006 10:08 AM

I love your avatar.

I don't know.. I highly doubt the guitarists are better than Slash & Izzy. IT'S SLASH AND IZZY!! Yeah. I love the original line up. 14 days till the concert. 19 days till Aerosmith & Crue!

Kyle 11-22-2006 01:34 PM

The guitarists are more technically proficient than Slash and Izzy, but I doubt they have the same songwriitng skill. I'll wait til' I heard CD to confirm that, but the old guys wrote a hell of a lot of memorable tunes.

My girlfriend bought us tickets for a wembley gig, we queued from about half ten in the morning and we were right at the front.
They new GNR are comparable to the original line-up but I wouldn't say necessarily better.
Different:thumb:
But Dizzy's solo definately was amazing.

Don't know if it's been asked before but has anyone seen the tribute band, Guns 2 Roses?

Cipher Hour 11-22-2006 07:49 PM

Hey guys, will do some editing and overhauling of the first page soon. The current tour is amazing, wish they could come back to Vancouver (though I understand due to 2002) and I'm still agonizing over the lack of a release date as are the rest of you. Good to be back, albeit briefly. Rock on fellow GNR nutjobs.

Kyle 11-22-2006 10:32 PM

Hey Cipher  Good to see you back, even if it is only briefly.

purplefeet 11-22-2006 11:18 PM

The show was amazing in the t.dot. They played for over 2 hours and it was a sweet sweet set

Surtr 11-24-2006 06:57 AM

For sure man, and I'm fairly sure the new guys won't stand up to Slash and Izzy writing wise, but they were without a doubt better players.

Hahah having the TPB there was awesome. That was a lot of fun. And LST, I totally know what you are saying about the new line up. At first, the very thought of it was "meh" but after seeing em' live..oh my god, they can pull it off 110%
