I was browsing the stewmac site for things to add to a revamp project (Jay turser strat copy, natural finish: http://www.jayturser.com/images/JT300-sm.jpg) and came across this:
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Components:_Black_Ice_overdrive.html It looks like it would be pretty useful (and pricey  )...anyone use this? Thoughts? I love goodies. |

Jeez, I almost lost http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8296548#post8296548 because of a "cannot find server" message.
/glad I copied and pasted before hitting submit Does anyone know if the coming of the new server will result in the loss of any old posts or anything? |
I greatly doubt it. But i'm not sure it'd be such a bad thing if it did.
Hey aes... You know how you always said the 2 physical switches in the FCB1010 could be used to control stompboxes... Would you need to contruct a looper with a power supply and a relay to do this and give them true bypass? Would a relay be the way you'd do it? I won't have many FX in my loop other than a DSP2024P when i get it, but it'd be great if i could rackmount a couple. |

God some people just can't help being cockmunchers. We played an amazing gig last night with some bands. In terms of stage performance and general musicanship we were easily the best and most entertaining band there.
The problem was the venue was really hot, hot as in by the time we finished the first song I was struggling to breathe and thinking of calling off the set. We were main support. A nice band opened the gig who were young about 13, doing their first gig together. They played ok, a bit sloppy but not massively. The heat made everyone a little sloppy, and the nervs of a first gig and them not having much previous experienced just factored the performance away from their benefit. We thought that all things considered they did well, they were the nicest guys there. Then the headliners started talking, calling them horrendously sloppy e.t.c just generally not cutting them any slack. Then they launched into a barrage about, '**** bastard mates' on the stage. The '**** bastard mates' were, 1) The odd crowd member who was pushed onto the stage. 2) A guy who had to sit on the bass drum to stop it sliding. 3) Two guys working video cameras for us. Oh **** guys! a couple of people were on the stage with us with video cameras lolz lolz, then the obviously slow owner of the forum who was at the gig said he couldn't tell who was in the band and who was the crowd. Well I'll help you, the band have instruments, the crowds don't. Good work faggot. So as a general rule, the headliners were fags. |
You'll have to tell us their name so we can all remember they are fags.

 I can't help but feel sorry for the hundreds if not thousands of impressionable young women who ended up with cancer, when all they wanted was to stay "trim and slender". |
So smoke is SLENDERING now? If women* can't keep themselves at bay they don't deserve to be slim. work for it, bitch.
*Applies to men too. of course. But men don't generally give a **** |

No, It shouldn't.
You know how you always said the 2 physical switches in the FCB1010 could be used to control stompboxes... Would a relay be the way you'd do it?
No. You'll just have to mod your stompbox a bit. Connect the terminals of the bypass switch up to a 1/4" socket (it can be in parrallel to the current foot switch so you can still use your pedal as is). Connect this 1/4" socket up with the one on the FCB and use it to remotely switch it.
So smoke is SLENDERING now? How come the avatars undergo radioactive decay every month?
|
Is this still the community thread? Anyway, I am a Swedish guy living in Alberta Canada. I have a web site with video clips of my cheap but good sounding gear at www.dolphinstreet.com/video_clips
I play blues, jazz, funk, sometimes heavier stuff too, sometimes country. I'm 35, and right now I'm trying to get video lessons together. I have 3 Squier guitars, a custom built guitar and a Reverend Hellhound and a Vox AD50VT. I am also trying to get some recording equipment for my computer; sound card, mixer mics, and my next goal will be to make some decent demos and such. I'm also pissed that a rock band I joined dumped me because of not having aggressive enough tone. What? I though it's what you play that matters! Ahh! Maybe just as well it didn't work out - they had no dynamics - everything was at 11 all the time. |

See you got your old account back then Moaner, that's good.
Having your account deleted was just a result of bad timing. |
See you got your old account back then Moaner, that's good.
Having your account deleted was just a result of bad timing.
truly was. 88) moaner I'm so rated by mx :D not a touch on aes's top 20 though. |
"Its not a crisis, its an oppurtunity."
What does that mean? |
I like how I'm not even in the Top 100 list, and didn't even know about it until now.
|
"Its not a crisis, its an oppurtunity."
What does that mean?
it means instead of being sad your old band kicked you, you should be happy that you've a chance to start something new that might turn out even better. |
So where's Trea then? Haven't seen her for a few days.
|
 I'm around, just haven't posted all that much. I've been on work experience using a computer most of the day so I haven't really touched Mx (yeah, I know, bad excuse :p).
I like how I'm not even in the Top 100 list, and didn't even know about it until now.
Ah well, I voted for ya man (plus Airborne, KKK, Moaner, Chris, and I forget who else). Congrats to those who got in the top hundred. What's been happening guys? Did anything happen with that job you were going for Chris? |
Thanks Moaner, you're right. I now have more time to play something that I'm more interested in.
|

I'm just suprised that I was on the list, last time noone voted for me, hehe |
What's been happening guys?
Did anything happen with that job you were going for Chris?
No news just yet. Although I am cutting it pretty fine. Seing I'll be technically unemployed in 6 days time. I'd want to at least know what's going on with it by early next week. I've applied for a one month contract making a website for this bunch of people. And I'll take it if nothing else works out for me, but i'd ideally want something more permanent than just one month. But if worse comes to worse, I'll do pretty much anything if it comes down to it. And my 'people' should be able to sort something out for me. I'm guessing you are doign work experience at the web design place. How is it going? What technologies are they using in the industry nowadays? |
If i had money, aes, i'd employ you.
as a butler. /:lol::lol::lol: as i think of aes's face when i tell him in order to look neat and tidy he'll have to shave |
How do I get "people"?

Welcome to the forums Took.
I try to keep the users in the Guitar forum in check. Although most of them are good kids. My advice would be to read the rules, and you'll be more than right fitting in. Your first couple of posts seem right on the way of you becoming yet another helpful and well respected memeber of this forum community tho. So, once again, welcome. I'm a skippy. So I can't help you out with a band thing. Sorry. NEWS JUST IN.. I've been extended for another month. Aparantly they really need me where I am. So I can put off finding another job for at least a little while. That's a bit of a relief. |
Use punctuation, if that helps.
|
G'day Took :). There's a thread at the top of the Jam Session (this forum) that links to some of Merkaba's vocal orientated threads. They're pretty useful; you might like to check them out.

That's a bit of a relief.
Sweet as. Still, hope you can manage to get that extra 10 grand a year job. Work experience was awesome - I loved it. Getting shouted lunch is always a good thing :p. My main task was creating a static website for the official Deaflypics results cd, and I also met some guys from the Tigers basketball team (from the (Aussie) NBL); the guys where I was at are doing a big promotion program for them. Man they were tall. Um, most of the time I was using Dreamweaver/Notepad/Vim... They invited me back so it's all good :thumb:. |
