HHX Chinese my friend...
|
a cheaper brand, cutting chinese that blends with b8's and xs's
|
B8 Pro....that china is so awesome.
|
has anyone heard of istanbul(sp?) cymbals
|
For a 16" medium or medium thin, darkish crash for prog/modern rock like APC, Porcupine Tree, or VAST which do you think would be best, 16" K medium thin crash, HH medium thin crash, or HHX 16" stage crash? Or something else?
|
has anyone heard of istanbul(sp?) cymbals
yes, they are well known turkish cymbals. they pro cymbals, but are cheaper than the Zildjian, Sabian, and Paiste. i think they are great! |

Great cymbals. I own a 14" Thin Traditional crash, and despite being slightly splashy, gives a great tone. Cheaper? Try looking at their Sultan series. Their hats go up to $500 a pair. |

Haha **** yes, I love that china. |
I'm torn between the 16" Sabian HH duo crash and the HHX stage Crash to compliment my 17" Kcustom dark. I haven't heard them with my K custom so I'm not sure of the voulmes. Are they rougly the same? Also Which to you reckon would blend with the K custom better?

This is not always true. I have a 14 in k custom fast crash and for a 14 in and a fast crash, it is not that splashy, it still has a full tone. |
Hey guys, I'm looking for a ride that would be suitable for metal (power/thrash), I'm open minded about whether Zildjian/Paiste/Sabian/etc. I'd prefer a loud bell, and it needs to be heard through guitars.
I've been considering: Paiste Rude Power Ride, Zildjian Z Custom Ride, and maybe a Paiste Dimensions Ride of some sort, any comments or advice appreciated, thanks. |

thats a very good question. I would like to hear the answer to that |
Oh and some hip-hop1!!!
|
Ok, my teacher has a Paiste 505 20" ride. It sounds fantastic but i cant find one like it anywhere. Did they stop making them? And if you have played one, what are your opinions of it?
|
How do all you guys like paiste signature hi hats?
I think they are incredable... I have the 13'' dark crisp sig hats and next week I am getting the 14'' sound edge sig hats. :naughty: |
they are absolutely AWEEEESOMEEEE!!!!!! too bad theyre too expensive for me
|
they sound nice, but my wallet hates em ;)

third times a charm |
OK Cymbalism......., I have a 18" A Custom Crash and a 17" A Custom Projection....
I am about to get some new hats.....considering A Mastersounds, A Custom Mastersounds, K/Z Combo and maybe Dyno Beats.... now which would blend in best with my crashes....? I would also like to add one more crash...bigger or smaller? heavier or thinner? brighter or darker? |
^I'd probably say the A mastersounds^
anyways I've recently heard of the Meinl dragon series and I also heard they are extrea,ly trashy and the crash can work as a crash a ride and a china, and i noe they're discontinued , but if that all is true is there an equivelent to it? |
Hey i was wondering how much a 16 inch vault crash aould run around??. And whats a good 20 inch Rock ride around 200 that sounds good in ur opinion??

Ya thats what i was thinkgin i was told to get that once before |
Hey Im thinking about changing my cymbal line up a tad. I'd prefer just to expand, and I have the money too, but i cant really justify it. So I'm thinking about selling/trading my 18" AAX dark crash. Anyone interested? I'm looking for either cash, or bright crashes to match my A custom 19", preferably more A customs. I might do the same to my 16" k custom dark crash and splash...i like the contrast between my dark ride and hats to bright crashes.
|
Nice washy crash but not too washy, and not zildjian sweet ride? thanks!
|
I just began drumming 5 days ago but only got the standard cymbals with my new set.
I'm planning to buy new cymbals this summer and i'm not sure what I should go for. I can't buy it from local stores, way to expencive, so i have to order them from US or with in EU that's why i can't test them my self. I'll be playing rock like Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Mars Volta. What should i go for? |
i currently have a 14" AAX studio crash, 16" XS20 rock crash and an 18" AAX stage crash. Now i'm looking for a new ride that would sound well with these with a washy sound to them. Right now i'm in the middle of looking at either a 20" HHX stage ride or a 21" HH Raw-Bell Dry ride. Any suggestions?

I can't speak for the HHX stage ride, but I can tell you that I have the 21" HH Raw-bell dry ride and it is freakin' sweet. It's really versitle. The only problem I have with that ride is it's kinda quiet, and had a little more wash than I was hoping for - but the wash is kind of a welcome sound now. It gives my set a little more something. Anyway, I like the 21" HH Raw-Bell Dry ride. It's what the name implies - Dry. It's not TOO washy, but then again, any cymbal is going to give wash. Sorry about this lengthy post, but in any case, I would choose the Dry ride. I think it sounds great - just try them both in a store some time. |

how much you would sell your aax dark, and is the cymbal in good shape? |
The cymbal is in great shape, its got a few stick marks, a few fingerprints...it sells new for 169 so im really just taking offers on it...i was hoping to trade it straight up for a 17" a custom that someone else had used but in fine condition, because they have the same new sale price...but i ll take offers on it. I'll post a good picture of it soon.

Anyone got the K/Z 14' hi-hats? I want something dark, and the wash shouldn't be too tonal or musical if you know what I mean, I hated the 13' A New Beats, the wash was too tonal and ringy. But I want something with a really nice thick, low chick sound. Should fit with pop/rock, classic rock/alternative, and the 'chick' should be funky.
