I must suck, because ghua and undisputed attitude are my two favorite slayer albums
I must suck, because ghua and undisputed attitude are my two favorite slayer albums
There's nothing much wrong with GHUA people don't like it because it sounds more modern and not like old slayer. Some people dare to call it "almost nu-metal". I like the album it has it's ups and downs. I can't stand Undisiputed Attitude because I don't like Punk Rock, and it's basically all Punk covers.

panthersfan16 08-07-2005 04:57 PM

I dont care for punk either, but that record appeals to me a lot for some reason

Malakian Worshipper 08-08-2005 04:50 AM
Of course it does. You are comparins Slayer to Judas Priest. Whos do you think is gonna be better??
i think he meant the haunting the chapel version, not the priest version

hammet_ownz 08-08-2005 05:04 AM

slayer playing at bam margeras house was soooo cool. tom araya is awesome on bass and dave lombardo is nuts

;)

ThrashMaster27 08-08-2005 06:00 AM

What are you guys on? Judas Priest NEVER did Aggressive Perfector. The Priest cover that Slayer did was Dissident Aggressor.

Whoever the guy that said Slayer own Priest must be very biased towards Slayer. Turbo is the worst Priest album by a mile. Try listening to the classic albums like Stained Class and if you prefer the heavier stuff, Painkiller. K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton rip Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman apart.

NP: Slayer - Necrophiliac

Never really been a fan of that slayer cover :( personally i woldnt say turbo is the worst i think demolition is by far the worst.

Malakian Worshipper 08-08-2005 06:03 AM

it wasnt me man, and i was a little confused when they said that coz i didnt think judas priest wrote it, but i wasnt sure.

ThrashMaster27 08-08-2005 06:04 AM

Haha, funnily enough I actually prefer it to the Priest version. I don't like adding the Ripper-era material into the bargain. Turbo is for sure the worst Halford album.

DisposableHeroes 08-08-2005 06:05 AM

Agressive Perfector was the first ever Slayer song, according to Jeff. Well, he thinks so :p

yeah i think i would agree with you there

but roca rolla is a close second i have the re-released version and according to the booklet rob doesnt sing on it......someone called Bob Halford does!! Lmao

What made me laugh was in the Still Reigning DVD booklet, it has all the equipment the band uses and under Jeff's name is Heineken

I thought the song Aggressive Perfector was by Judas Priest. Oh well, I'm not a huge Priest fan.

UGH! I read an interview on Slayersaves. Jeff said that Jaegermeister was thinking about having Slayer headline every fall tour, since they've already headlined the fall tour twice. So I checked the JaegerMusic Tour website, and Disturbed is headling.

A big let-down.

DBoons Ghost 08-15-2005 02:54 PM

Slayer is an excellent band.

I love them. I kinda fell off them when Lombardo left, but bought God Hates Us All when it came out.

I've seen them a few times, and their pits are insane.

Their albums play like symphonies to me, so I could never pick one song off their albums. The whole thing is a must listen. It was always amazing to me that from Reign in Blood through Seasons, every song on those albums was quality.

I am grateful I caught them a few times during those good times. I saw them on the Reign tour, and again on the South of Heaven tour, but missed them on the Seasons tour.

I saw them last year on the JaegerMusic tour. And every year the tour has come to my town, so I was hoping that Slayer would start doing the Fall tour, I'd be in Slatanic heaven.

Yeah the vibe they release when they are on stage is incredible.

Everyone should know that feeling. I wish you luck in that, because the rush you get is amazing. Makes me think how they are feeling knowing they send so many people into a ravaged frenzy.

The energy is simply astounding.

lightningmetal666 08-15-2005 05:18 PM

Just for an added challenge, I plan to learn the WHOLE ENTIRE Reign In Blood Tour on my guitar.

Anybody else got some songs they want to learn?

hairmetalsuxx 08-15-2005 05:23 PM

I've spent about a week learning The Anti-Christ. I still can't play the first solo, but I got the second slower melodic solo down. I'm thinking about going back and trying to learn to play At Dawn They Sleep.

Klander Brigade 08-16-2005 08:01 AM

I wanna see them next time they come to this Starland Ballroom place around me. Real small, saw BLS there. I missed the last one but I saw them from the lawn at Ozzfest '04.

hahaha yeah tom is a pretty good bassist, but like he plays alot of what the guitar plays and i guess it kinda gets boring like it would be pretty cool to see him get a little funky every now and then :thumb: but hey there fine just the way they are.

Kronos 08-16-2005 12:40 PM

I'm not really into Slayer (my brother is more than me) mainly because I don't like the vocals, but I think Dave Lombardo is a great drummer. I especially like the intro to Hell Awaits..

Pantera_slayer 08-16-2005 12:42 PM

**** guitarering dave lombardo and paul bostaph are ftw

Kronos 08-16-2005 12:46 PM
**** guitarering dave lombardo and paul bostaph are ftw
Would you mind translating that please?

vashts80 08-16-2005 05:56 PM

"Fuck guitaring, Dave Lombardo and Paul Bostaph are for the win"

as in, the guitars don't matter but Lombardo and Bostaph are God-like in the music Slayer has made

nontie69 08-16-2005 09:55 PM

paul is not that bad i like dave alot more. but like man kerry and jeff are amazing i wouldnt say there the best but to say dave and paul are god like in the music slayer has made is kinda BS because kerry and jeff are amazing i man there solos in dead skin mask are god like if anything. but yeah there drumming is amazing.

KBSD91 08-16-2005 10:48 PM

****. I read an interview with Jeff. He said that Jaegermeister might start having Slayer headline every fall tour since they've headlined the fall tour twice. Every year the JaegerMusic Tour has come to my home town, so when I read that I was stoked, cuz man, I could be seeing Slayer every year. I was dissapointed to see that Slayer isn't going to be headlining the Fall tour, and Disturbed is. :-\ I'd be in Slaytanic Heaven if they started permenantly headling the Fall Tour.

EDIT-Boy, I sure do feel stupid, I said basically said the same thing a page ago. :upset:

nontie69 08-16-2005 10:50 PM

aaahhh man that sux im so sick of disturbed. but at least the tour goes to your home town man it never comes to montreal.

Surprisingly I learned Raining Blood and Postmortem pretty quickly. I still have not learned how to do kerry's final solo in Raining Blood. I've also been trying to figure out the intro solo to the remix of Criminally Insane to no avail.

Kinda on the side, I learned how to play Killing Fields. The lyrics to that song are f**king awesome to scream while you're playing the riffs. :thumb:

Apocalyptic Raids 08-16-2005 11:47 PM

Dude you don't 'learn' the end solos for Raining Blood. Just fuck around on the whammy bar.

nontie69 08-17-2005 12:02 AM

haha i know i was thinking the same thing to  i was like u can play postmortem and raining blood but u can hit a bunch of strings while hitting the whammy bar

That's all I do. Kerry doesn't even call it a solo he calls it "noise".
