Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-30-2005 08:50 PM

mmmmmmmm i love alkaline trio. they were my first favorite pop punk band. i have 4 outta 6 cds and i hope to get the rest soon. <3

HitHardDrums55 07-30-2005 09:56 PM

please dont catagorize alk3 as pop punk...when i think of pop punk i think of greenday (even old greenday) and blink182...i like those 2 bands, but alk3 is definately not that style, however the only genre i could classify them in would have to be AMAZING...because pop/punk/rock/whatever genre labeling is all bullshit

sorry guys

Angry Balled Fists! 07-31-2005 03:58 AM

Shut up, Alk3 are pop-punk.

Alkaline Trio are pop-punk, and they're good at it.

Firecracker 07-31-2005 04:55 AM

What an arse, crimson is a pure description of pop-punk, and ace pop-punk at that.

skateMASTERbater2 07-31-2005 04:57 AM

Has anyone here ever seen them live?

Firecracker 07-31-2005 05:05 AM

Me...

Oz Rembrandt 07-31-2005 05:18 AM

No, but I'm seeing them twice this year. I have the live at the Metro DVD, does that count?

Firecracker 07-31-2005 05:20 AM

I suppose it does, because that's where i got my seeing them live from...

Not really, i saw them September 13th 2003, man that was a good night.
And i'll probably see them November 25th 2005 also.

Bad Blood 07-31-2005 08:23 AM

Im off to see them in November with Dan i think.

Angry Balled Fists! 07-31-2005 11:50 AM

Yeah, give me the money as soon as, and i'll order them.

bowl of oranges 07-31-2005 11:59 AM

I might be going to the southampton show, which ones you guys going to?

Bad Blood 07-31-2005 12:02 PM

Rock City.

Untitled 07-31-2005 12:05 PM

Manchester Acadamy...

bowl of oranges 07-31-2005 12:06 PM

I've never been to rock city, is it a good venue? The guildhall at southampton isn't bad i guess, pretty small, which is cool.

Any news on the support? Don't flame me if it's common knowledge, i haven't looked into it much...

Bad Blood 07-31-2005 12:09 PM

I've never been before. My mates have said its quite good though.

Firecracker 07-31-2005 12:10 PM

I would be going to southampton but i have school next day.
So i'm going to Bristol which is a friday.

chumpradio 07-31-2005 12:25 PM

/doesn't have a ticket yet either

Nice plan.

Or you could rape the old men that buy and sell tickets for profit outside the venues, that way you get many tickets and money also, not to mention the old men!

Doesn't hairy and wrinkled do it for you then, :amaze: nah me neither

HajjahMuDeris 07-31-2005 01:33 PM

Crimson was awesome but I'm so tired of it, cause it was leaked about three months before it hit shelves.

HitHardDrums55 07-31-2005 01:37 PM

im sorry guys i just dont consider alk3 pop-punk, which is why i said genres are bull****...to me theyre their own genre, and i usually try to classify music now as good or crap...and dont get me wrong alk3 is my favorite band, so theyre very good to me didnt mean to piss u guys off

No worries. I generally class bands the same way as you - Ones I like, ones I don't. Classification help disscusion.

Alkaline Trio are my favourite band too. Rock On. :thumb:

poprocks&coke 07-31-2005 05:10 PM

\m/

Chilly-Bean-Bop 07-31-2005 09:57 PM

i went to the show in orlando. it was sold out and amazing. <3

HitHardDrums55 07-31-2005 10:42 PM

of course it was amazing

derek can crack his snare drum head, keep jammin on hi hats and kick with dan playin bass and switch snare drums with one hand while matt talks to the crowd and then finish up the song...quite amazing i dont really know many bands who could pull that off...

Jeenuh 08-01-2005 03:50 AM

My brothers favorite band, I really liked them for a while but I've kind of abandoned them since. :/

punkerdan 08-01-2005 09:04 AM

God****it is the best cd ever made

Bad Blood 08-01-2005 11:06 AM

Hmm i like it but i wouldn't say it's the best album made. Good Mourning is better.

Oz Rembrandt 08-01-2005 11:49 AM
Hmm i like it but i wouldn't say it's the best album made. Good Mourning is better.
Nah.

From Here to Infirmary is my favourite album, closley followed by Goddammit and Maybe I'll catch Fire, then s/t, then Good Mourning, then Crimson.

They're all bloody good albums though.

Bad Blood 08-01-2005 11:52 AM

I think Crimson is awesome.

The order for me would be Good Mourning, From here to infirmary, Crimson, God dammit, Maybe i'll catch fire.

I haven't heard S/t yet, i might buy it next time im in town.

Angry Balled Fists! 08-01-2005 11:52 AM

Good Mourning is my favourite without a doubt.

Goddammit is their weakest.

Bad Blood 08-01-2005 11:58 AM

I used to hate From Here To Infirmary, i love it now.

God dammit has the worst recording quality i think. The songs are still good though.

Let's Chop Cats! 08-01-2005 12:20 PM

Goddamnit! is amazing. Their weaker albums are the newer ones. FHTI is their best me thinks.
