I like the song Laughing Boy, and just recently, I borrowed the Maximum Sincere album from the library. The latter sounds a fair bit like Bush. |

I'm going to serio up for a moment and say for the record that it's a select few in the church that are creeps nowadays. It's the old guard and they're leaving slowly. People hassle churches, but generally it's 1/10,000 giving them bad names. |
Does that 1 in 10,000 include the people in the church who are involved in the cover-ups, confidentialilty pay-offs for victims and so on?
|
sup peoples. all the ministers ive ever met are pretty normal and probably wouldnt touch kids
|
I doubt that such ministers would act like they'd touch kids, haha.
|
lol. i think that type of stuff is all in the past, i can't see it still happening, at least in australia...
|
I think the reality is that sexual abuse will never be stamped out completely, inside or outside of the Church.
|
Have you seen 'Deliver Us from Evil' Aaron?
It hasnt been curbed unfortunately, probs never will be as is the nature of sexual abuse. |
If anything, the severity of sexual abuse in the Church is under-represented, because the Catholic Church has been known to buy the silence of victims' families as well as shelter the perpetrators from the law.
Catholicism = bad for the world. |
sup guys.
i found an empty vodka bottle and now im drinking all my beverages from it. |
Haha.
Oh Evan, what will you do next? :p You're going to wash it right, so that you don't end up with a bizarre flavour cocktail of every drink you ever have? ...wait, who am I kidding, of course you won't. :chug: |
i washed it
what do you take me for. im drinking green cordial out of it right now and thinking how much cooler it would be if it was an absinthe bottle. answer: exponentially! |
But Ev, to get an absinthe bottle, you'd have to buy some absinthe, and then drink it!
|
I'm fairly certain he would have no problem with that. lol
|
Yeah that was pretty much what I was going for.
'Sup Dr Chu? |

Catholicism = bad for the world.
catholic church =/= all of christianity too. Have not seen said film. |
You know how good it would be to have a PhD (let alone in CS), and be referred to as Dr. Matthew Ball.
Not much though, I'm semi-procrastinating, researching design patterns - not that I really need to, most of it seems like common sense to me, hence the procrastination. This is my last week, so I'm actually pretty stoked. :chug: How goes you?! Edit: Aaron, Phil tells me he cannot go back up north this break (work commitments) and you guys have planned a week or something where you'll come down here? Needs more information please. Edit (again): One of the student's in my COMP2600 class posted this on the message board: "I tried to expand (\x.xxx)(\x.xxx) in my head. Needless to say, it did not end well. My brain ran out of stack space, and I had to be hospitalized." And the lecturer replied with: "My brain is a graph machine so I used lazy evaluation to reduce (\x.xxx)(\x.xxx) in constant space. Unfortunately, I am now catatonic." **** yeah. |
always gotta take those anti-religion films with a grain of salt
chu I have a documentary that might interest you, mathematics of chaos. i'll upload on karagarga later if you want |
meatplow do you need to be invited to karagarga or can anyone join?
matt if i could find some absinthe i would definetlye drain it and drink green cordial out of it. |
It's invite only.
Only for the truly elite tbh. |
