why does no one understand what emo is? why? these people keep talkin, it's like god is ****ting in my ears, 24-7.
Dude, Emo is short for emotional and thats exactly what I meant.

Brain Toad 08-11-2005 07:49 PM

Emo stands for emotional hardcore, not just emotional.

Sam 08-11-2005 07:51 PM

I love it when people don't know their history.

Emo and emotional lyrics are two different things. Rap's pretty much the only unemotional music (if it's music). You can't have music without emotion. Music IS emotion put into sounds. Emo means "emotive hardcore." That'd be stuff like Rites of Spring, Embrace, or Fugazi.

There is plenty of rap with emotion, just none of it is popular.

ALL15000 08-11-2005 08:03 PM

well actually not all music has emotion. if you look at songs like "loose nut" from black flag, or "see her pee" by nofx you dont find much emotion. thats what i think anyway.

Brain Toad 08-11-2005 08:07 PM

There is emotion put into all songs, whether it be sillyness or happiness, or sad. Every song has emotion, whether it was put there by the aritsts, or some behind the scenese songwriter.

you're right. I should have specified "mainstream rap" and used the word "most" because there are a few good rap songs...
yeah thats true. i guess i was just thinking "not every song is emotional."

Shwoopadafwoop 08-11-2005 09:20 PM

Hey um, can anybody give me a link for some rare Afi tracks?
Thatd be cool, thanks.

cheeser_1 08-11-2005 09:24 PM
There is plenty of rap with emotion, just none of it is popular.
which makes me sad. or should i say, it makes me emo. ;)

shizzy and maco have like, ever rare afi song ever. they should be able to hook you up somehow or another.

Shwoopadafwoop 08-11-2005 09:33 PM

Wow you reply fast, but uh, I saw their links but they expired or something

BlastFunk03 08-11-2005 09:45 PM

I'm quite fond of that secret song on i think answer that and stay fashionable, though i could be wrong. It's called man in a suitcase, and it's got a ska guitar riff, which sounds extremely different for afi.

cheeser_1 08-11-2005 10:09 PM

man in a suitcase, it's by the police, unless i'm remembering that wrong.

RetiredAt21 08-11-2005 10:11 PM

Man in a Suitcase is a cover? I didn't know that.

El_Shiznit 08-11-2005 11:48 PM

Yep. It's a Police cover.

RetiredAt21 08-12-2005 12:13 AM

Wow, I had no idea.

fatwreckpunk 08-12-2005 03:30 AM

Hep Kat 08-12-2005 07:22 AM

fatwreckpunk 08-12-2005 07:44 AM

Fish 08-12-2005 07:58 AM

Shwoopadafwoop 08-12-2005 12:57 PM

When is the next Afi single going to be released?

Flagjacket 08-12-2005 02:53 PM

I'm going to guess November, but your avatar makes me want to puke.

Shwoopadafwoop 08-12-2005 03:19 PM

Ouch, Im sorry, I love them, but not as much as Afi

Shwoopadafwoop 08-12-2005 03:23 PM

Ok there, this one shouldnt make you puke, and it fits the thread

Flagjacket 08-12-2005 04:12 PM

Wow, you actually changed your avatar. That makes me feel empowered.

Sleeper 08-12-2005 04:49 PM

pH Low
Lower Your Head And Take It In The Body
Coin Return
Third Season
Salt For Your Wounds
Triple Zero

It was their transition album into hardcore, so it's a lot different from their other albums. If you wanted me to, I could upload it.

Shwoopadafwoop 08-12-2005 07:26 PM

Another good one on Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes is A Single Second, I like the bass in the beginning and the background singing
