what is the song actually called.... because either that's some signed band, or a cover of one, but I can't really distinguish. I have definitely heard the song before.

gaslight 05-27-2005 07:22 AM

The song is originally by Jeff Buckley.

kurrpt 05-27-2005 07:26 AM

Aes: what type of music do you play?

moaner 05-27-2005 07:41 AM

aes plays with one pop-rock band, and once post harcore band, i think. except the vocalist of the former had some major dental work.

kurrpt 05-27-2005 07:41 AM

moaner 05-27-2005 07:43 AM
what do you play moaner??
Todays lesson.

Laxatives are for constipated people.
Not for me.
You should take 1 laxative tablet.
Not three.

:(

gaslight 05-27-2005 08:33 AM

moaner 05-27-2005 08:33 AM

Have a listen. It's quite good.
I've been listening to Jeff Buckley's version all day, so this sounded really bland and boring to me
(and I find her accent bloody annoying haha)
The song is originally by Jeff Buckley.
No, originally by Leonard Cohen

moaner 05-27-2005 04:58 PM

i like pink floyd acoustic songs.

Yeah. I really like Jeff Buckleys version to.
I've also heard Sinead O'conner do a version. Which was pretty good.

I really like the double bass used in that song.
Before I was just listening to it on a pair of ear plugs. Now, listening through a decent set of speakers, and being able to hear that bass, sounds great.

It's odd, sometimes I get really drawn into groups with chick vocalists with a distinct (and some pople could say, annoying) accent.
Have a listen to a group called Lamb. Songs like Gorecki, Gabriel or Sweet.

Both bands have been having problems of late :(

Oh I love Lamb.. I have.. What sound? I think the album is called, or maybe that's just the first song on it... Gabriel is an amazing song

Aes820 05-28-2005 07:05 AM

Yes. The album is called What Sound.
I've got this two CD version of it, the second CD has remixes and some live tracks.
One of those albums which I am very pleased I bought.

Have you heard Gorecki? I think it is one of their best songs.

denboy 05-28-2005 07:16 AM

No, I haven't heard Gorecki.. What album is it on?
I bought What sound, on a whim, because I had heard a clip of one of their songs before.... And I'm so glad I did.

Aes820 05-28-2005 07:33 AM

Well. The version I've got is off that second CD I mentioned.
It was recorded live. I'll upload it for you.

I can say now that the majority of peolpe who listen to ^that track, having never heard Lamb before, will not be able to stand that girls voice. But I think it is brilliant. Haunting and captivating.
The lyrics are great to.

gaslight 05-28-2005 07:49 AM

That song sounds really nice, I'll try get myself that album.

denboy 05-28-2005 07:50 AM

Heheh. I love her voice.. But I can see why some people would find it annoying..
Thanks for the track :).. Truly beautiful song.
