Yes joel, if people aren't gonna respect my athority, me having some 200+ posts I demand respect...

Permanent Solution 04-23-2005 08:40 PM

Remember now Joel, this is important...everyone posting after the close should be banned.

nirvana_drummer's back 04-24-2005 02:43 AM

Joel, ban everyone after the non-mod close, it'll be funny.
Just making sure this is seen and enforced.

Where are you Joel?!?!?
I vote me for new pop-punk mod. ;)

Rancid Dan 04-24-2005 01:18 PM

Sticky me FA plz

chumpradio 04-24-2005 01:59 PM

Joel, great modding in the Simple Plan thread.
Carry on being strict towards the members who insult bands. And it's good that you banned people who post quite a bit as well, showing that you aren't biased.

Read over the page. Joel knows im great ;)

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 04-25-2005 08:37 AM

People need to get a grip in the forced listening thread. It doesn't need to be continuosly bumped, and when people do reviews they can delete their dibs so we don't have one review and a pile of wank on each page

Joel cleans it out a little as far as I am concerned, but yeah I'm gonna make an effort to remember to clean out my posts in there which aren't relevent

Twat_Out_Of_Hell 04-25-2005 08:51 AM

Yeah i understand that. It's just that at the moment there's discussions and dibs all over the page before reviews. There's no need for dibs to be left on a page either, the only thing that's importnat in there are the reviews.

Oz Rembrandt 04-25-2005 12:48 PM

Hey Joel (or any other MOD), has Lilly (poprocksandcoke) been banned? I've been talking to her on msn, and she says she cant sign in!
Cheers guys

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 12:52 PM

Yeah, because she bashed Simple Plan in that thread

narcotictendencies 04-25-2005 01:01 PM

WHAT?!

excuse me, in my defence, I wasn't the only one bashing Simple Plan, everyone was saying they sucked, my comment was pretty mild.

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:01 PM

I know, everyone got banned.

Permanent Solution 04-25-2005 01:02 PM

Ok...so my brainstorming has led to this as an idea...I'd like feedback before doing it though, because it will involve everyone so if there's no interest it won't work. I stole it from R&M but I think it would be neat here too, and that would be to have a bi-weekly featured genre, where we look at the evolution of a genre, list some bands, upload some songs, and spread out people's tastes. It could be as specific as you want it as long as you have like 3 bands included and some good info. If you don't like it I'll come up with something different though...

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:06 PM

Yeah, cool.

I was thinking of doing a 'Legends of pop-punk' competition, where you all nominate for the people who you think should be in their and we vote for the most influential and important people in the genre ?
Kinda Like the top 75 albums but obviously not too similair.

Kif 04-25-2005 01:09 PM

To be honest, I don't really see a point in the "Featured genre" business. I think that if you want to research more about a particular style, you should just go the forum for that style and hang around there for a while, picking up on some good bands

Permanent Solution 04-25-2005 01:21 PM

So...second idea: Composition Competition? I don't know how many people can record judging from the problems we've had with the forum band, but would there be an interest in trying it out at least?

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:22 PM

People would be too lazy to do it, it would be a good idea though.

Kif 04-25-2005 01:28 PM

Yeah, Dan's right. Effort in this forum is a rarity

I was thinking of doing another Battle Of The Pop-Punk Bands, but it's kinda early for that I think

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:30 PM

Should I do mine then ?

Permanent Solution 04-25-2005 01:31 PM

Well see, I like composition myself because I have no band but still can participate. It's too bad effort is so rare, but if I don't come up with something better I might just try it anyways :-/

Permanent Solution 04-25-2005 01:32 PM
Should I do mine then ?
I'd wait till the top 75 is totally done and listed, since the reviews are still needing to be done and such, but maybe start it in 2-4 weeks, depending on when the list is done. I'm still in preference of a profile over a competition on it though.

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:36 PM

The Competition is over now.

Permanent Solution 04-25-2005 01:42 PM

The reviews aren't all done yet and the list isn't posted yet. It'd be wrong to shift attention to something new without finishing the other thing.

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:44 PM

Ok, sorry.

I tried that before, but it was more of just alist. Everyone's just gonna pick someone from Green Day or Blink-182, so I don't see a point.

Rancid Dan 04-25-2005 01:59 PM

Ok, whatever.
