ridiculously long bass drums are dumb and sound like poop.

Corkofski 02-23-2007 11:25 PM

that

MeaninglessPhoto 02-24-2007 12:10 AM

I never got into the long basses. 20" or 19" is the deepest i'll go.

poopoogaypoonn 02-24-2007 12:19 AM
I never got into the long penises. 20" or 19" is the deepest i'll go.
O'rly?

MeaninglessPhoto 02-24-2007 12:21 AM

rly lolz

Nah. But really. 24x24 basses are absurd.

Josiah 02-24-2007 12:29 AM

haha what a stupid looking drumkit.

I'd say that's a 24x20 kick.

Chippy569 02-24-2007 12:36 AM
Just bought Supreme Commander, been waiting for this for over a year now. Installing as we speak.
how is it?

did you play TA at all?

Seafroggys 02-24-2007 01:04 AM

Sup Commander is awesome. The sheer scale of the game is awesome. I'm only in the 4th mission of the first campaign. Don't even want to try online yet. When I have a lot of guys it slows down like crazy (my computer barely meets the requirements) but other then that its cool.

My brother downloaded TA a couple of days ago, last I heard he hasn't played it yet. Though I guess with SupCom out I wouldn't be playing that anyways if I had it.

Maggot Dream 02-24-2007 01:38 AM

What're the specs on your computer? I'm thinking about picking that game up soon.

Seafroggys 02-24-2007 02:41 AM
What're the specs on your computer? I'm thinking about picking that game up soon.
well I barely meat the minimum reqs. Here's my comp's stats:

Athlon 64 3000+ (2 ghz)
Geforce 6600 GT PCI-Express Gfx Card (128 bit card)
512 megs RAM

the minimum

1.8 ghz
128 bit gfx card
512 megs RAM

I have the settings on medium-low and I only experience slowdowns when I have like 60 tanks in combat. I plan on getting another Ram stick and maybe maxing out my processor, get the 3800+ since they're so cheap nowadays ever since dual core came out.

maniac0796 02-24-2007 05:19 AM

It's cos you have an AMD :p

Nah, it's your RAM. It's having to do disk swaps constantly, which slows your computer down. Another 512 stick only costs about £20 now days, i'd suggest sticking one in, it can make your computer run so much smoother.

2Gb of ram for the win!

Have a look here, these people are very good:

awwww damn dude you gotta understand! TA was chris taylor's first RTS, and it's 10 years old now, and it's STILL ranked in the top 5 rts games of all time. Sup com is the "spiritual successor" if you will to TA (due to licensing issues).

I got a gig tonight...it's gonna be a challenge because we changed one of our songs last night and haven't had a lot of time to practice but i think we can pull it off...

Guitar = 7/4
Bass = 11/8
Drums = 9/8

Crazy.

I'm so glad i'm in this band...it's helping me to adapt to odd-time sigs so easily.

After doing some math...it goes like this...

Guitar = 4 bars of 7/4
Bass = 4 bars of 11/8 and one bar of 12/8
Drums = 5 bars of 9/8 and one bar of 11/8

wowzerz.

Drum Phil 02-24-2007 08:53 AM

So your basically improvising that? Good luck.

Panopticon 02-24-2007 10:17 AM
So your basically improvising that? Good luck.
haha surprisingly no...bassist is playing dotted eighths...

i'm keeping time on hats/ride with eights and playing dotted eighths in group of three (bass bass snare bass bass snare)

Guitarist is playing some random stuff. It's actually quite easy if you just sorta go off into your own world and just play.
Im still pissed off.
Chippy569 02-24-2007 11:51 AM

fishbulb 02-24-2007 11:53 AM

Tried Dos Equis (XX) beer, pretty good. Also had corona for the first time in 6 months.

Drum Phil 02-24-2007 11:55 AM
