KingOfSka 09-05-2005 08:37 PM

Those of you who are in favor of a Ska/Reggae sub-forum, please post your support in the thread I made in Site.

J_McMeaty 09-05-2005 08:43 PM

You mean the one that got closed?

KingOfSka 09-05-2005 08:43 PM

Damnit, REINER closed my thread.

He didn't even give me a chance to argue his point.

Let's Chop Cats! 09-05-2005 08:44 PM

Because I am right.

J_McMeaty 09-05-2005 08:44 PM

As much I would like a Ska sub-forum, I too doubt it will ever happen anytime soon.

I went there and told them that it was a bad idea.
Fuck you're cool.
Good work, captain obvious.

EDIT: You try and get f'uck in your user title. Oh, you can't? THOUGHT NOT.

Nowhereman42 09-05-2005 08:46 PM

Give Ska a chance. The only reason the Ska Education and Discussion thread keeps falling off the main page is because other Punk related threads keep being posted.

If you put Ska in the limelight for a while, by giving it it's own sub-forum, I guarantee you more people would post, as they wouldn't be distracted by other stupid threads like they are now.

Take the Bedouin Soundclash thread for example. See, that band is really good, but due to the majority of the users in Punk not knowing anything about Ska, it never got the chance to develop any good discussion.

If you had taken that same thread and put it in a Ska/Reggae sub-genre, it wouldn't have been closed after a couple dozen posts.

AIRIC 09-05-2005 08:51 PM

Get it through your thick fucking hep-hep'd skull that noone dislikes ska. I personally love ska, but punk and ska can live together in one place, and maybe if we stopped bitching about it and started making some more ska threads it would work better.

KingOfSka 09-05-2005 08:52 PM

I'm not telling you to agree with my points, just please unlock it until DBJ says something.

Let's Chop Cats! 09-05-2005 08:52 PM

The reason it falls off the first place because there aren't enough users to warrent making a subforum.

There is not a big enough user base to do this, same reason why there is no Blues forum.

They can live together in one place yes, but obviously Punk is getting more attention due to the fact that the forum is called "Punk"

There's no mention of Ska, so people tend to forget about it.

Nowhereman42 09-05-2005 08:54 PM

i want a blues/ska subforum, it would be like a dream of mine

you should turn jazz/funk into a genre's that involve horns forum

Let's Chop Cats! 09-05-2005 08:54 PM

There is also ther OTHER MUSIC FORUM which has several large threads on Ska.

Ugh...I really think it would work. How many names would I have to get for the mods to consider making a Ska/Reggae sub-forum.

AIRIC 09-05-2005 08:54 PM

Yeah, it's probably because your big group of fucking people that want this forum NEVER MAKE ANY THREADS ABOUT SKA. We've had like two in the past week. "Bedouin Soundclash" and "Ska Bands with Two Guitars". Try making a ska thread.

Hardcore/Metalcore Discussion stayed on the first page just fine. Ska just doesn't have the fans like Hardcore does

Let's Chop Cats! 09-05-2005 08:57 PM

Ska revival has died down aswell, the scene isn't that big. There are not enough people, I suggest you start posting in the Ska threads that are here and make more Ska threads.

FYI, most of the users here fail to look at good threads.

Nowhereman42 09-05-2005 08:57 PM

just become the sid of ska, be a complete bastard and eventually maby they'll give you a forum

what ever happened to sid, does he just stay in hardcore these days?

KingOfSka 09-05-2005 08:58 PM

Allright you guys win. For now...

Sid is never in hardcore.

#1! 09-05-2005 09:00 PM

I personally love ska, but I don't think it has enough support and if it is given its own forum it might just turn into a section that nobody goes to because nobody else is there.

oh, he not around anymore then?
