What other Funkadelic albums do you have? I have a few I can get you.
All I have is Maggot Brain.
jeff beck - blow by blow
Oh shi, I completely forgot about Blow by Blow.

robo2448 02-19-2006 03:47 PM

I sent out The Norman Haines Band- Den of Iniquity. From what I've listened to so far, it's freaking awesome.

PinkFreud 02-19-2006 03:50 PM

what kind of music is it?

jpj, NEVER forget blow by blow.

ATM 02-19-2006 03:53 PM

Did you guys ever check out Little Barrie? It's good, trust me.

robo2448 02-19-2006 04:02 PM

The Norman Haines Band album is heavy psychedelia/prog with some fantastic jamming. Good stuff. You guys will like it.

I read about Little Barnie on allmusic.com and listened to some samples and they were great. I'll keep an eye out for their album. Are they touring?

That's really scary, I am too.

Dill pickles!

Glitterati 02-19-2006 05:03 PM

So I couldn't go see Heart Of Gold because it's at a special theater all the way downtown and my dad's knee hurts too much because he's an old man.

So I'm stuck at my house during a baby shower.

:furious:

morrison357 02-19-2006 05:45 PM

Two other albums that would have to be at the top of my list would have to be Hot Rats and Apostrophe. I love Zappa, he's such a musical genius, and an amazing composer.

Glitterati 02-19-2006 05:56 PM

Zappa was a genious. Not to mention a wicked sense of humour.

MidnightRider 02-19-2006 06:10 PM

Sadly, I've never heard any Zappa.

I've sort of gained a new-found respect for Deep Purple's self titled album, it's really good. Besides the poor recording quality, it's flawless.

I've been looking for this for a long while, umm...is there anyway you can hook a brother up? :)
radiohead bores me.
How in the world can they bore anyone!?!?

This Beat of the Earth is nice, some parts can get boring but some of it's incredible. All and all I enjoyed it. I don't think it's even in the same universe as "Intersteller Overdrive" though.
Zappa was a genious. Not to mention a wicked sense of humour.
If by "wicked" you mean 'really retarded' right?

Glitterati 02-19-2006 06:14 PM
If by "wicked" you mean 'really retarded' right?
No, I though some of his stuff was hilarious.

He's a clever man, I dunno if you've seen interviews with him, he has a real dry sense of humor.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 02-19-2006 06:21 PM

I don't doubt the man's intelligence I just can't stand his horrible humor. I just fail to see how any of it is funny.

i can upload it for sure.

radiohead just never interests me. their songs dont have enough going for them.

and zappa's humor could only be construed as retarded when he was mocking/mimicking people.

I would have figured that you of all people would like Radiohead......

Krabsworth 02-19-2006 07:01 PM

I think Zappa was funny. The way he says,"Mom! I flipped the convertible," in a song on Freak Out! always cracks me up.

PinkFreud 02-19-2006 07:03 PM

everyone says that. i assume you're referring to my obssession with buckley? and the similarities between his voice and thom yorke's clearly inferior one? i just can't get into them. i've had the bends, ok computer, and hail to the thief on my computer and every so often i try to listen to them with bad results.

Krabsworth 02-19-2006 07:04 PM

I always thought Radiohead was too drony. DurDurrrrDurrr

Whats your email, expect Zappa in your inbox

thickasabrick 02-19-2006 07:07 PM

I always liked Zappas music a lot, but I find a lot of his lyrics really can bring down the song for me. Like Schyma said, I don't really dig his humour.

Who in here listens to Sublime?

MidnightRider 02-19-2006 07:08 PM

I don't think Radiohead is boring at all, they're one of the most creative bands around today.

PinkFreud 02-19-2006 07:09 PM
I don't think Radiohead is boring at all, they're one of the most creative bands around today.
creative bleh. i guess it IS a new concept to be as boring as possible. :amaze: :naughty:

i listen to sublime.

robo2448 02-19-2006 07:22 PM

I could see how Radiohead could bore people because it's so downbeat and depressing but I really dig OK Computer. Haven't listened to Kid A enough to judge, but it seems pretty good. I think Zappa is funny, but I prefer his more serious songs. I strongly dislike Sublime. I have a feeling I'm the only Sublime hater here.

Have you ever heard of Slightly Stoopid? They're supposed to be like them. I can't make that choice though.

Radiohead is boring. They don't keep my interest past 2 minutes.

This is a stupid question, but does anybody have any Rory Gallagher besides Irish Tour, Live In Europe, s/t or Defender?
