Hey Cady :)

Gnarmageddon 11-18-2005 10:45 PM

Aw, feel better Cadykins. <3

We were going for grind, but we have more of a thrash feel, I guess. I dunno. It's weird.

Our lyrics are really goofy though. We used voice synth.

Permanent Solution 11-18-2005 10:47 PM

hxc>thrash>grind

Mute Print 11-18-2005 10:48 PM

Ska > all

Gnarmageddon 11-18-2005 10:49 PM

Ska > Grind > hXc > Thrash

There's a music major on my floor who plays trumpet REALLY WELL. I want to start a ska band with him so bad :(

EDIT: No Spency-poo, grind sucks.

I'll be looking forward to your podcasts. What program do you use to make them?
Cool edit 2000.

I've missed ya, Cads.

I'd love to play in a ska band or a hardcore band. I think it would be amazing.

Grind is something I can only handle in very small quantities.

Aww...Wait...Have you silly boys been changing your names on me?

Uh-oh...

I currently play in a Punk/edging towards Hardcore band :D

Playing Hardcore and Ska bands would totally kick. And Ska is even more fun to drum than hxc.
Aww...Wait...Have you silly boys been changing your names on me?

Yeah.

Mute Print 11-18-2005 10:54 PM

I wish I would have known about ska when I had the oppurtunity to start playing an instrument for school in like fourth grade. I would have definitely taken up trumpet if I would have known.

Good thing everyone in my band likes ska and hardcore.

Too bad all of our songs end up being pop-punk/rock, though.

My bro plays sax.

But not very well :(

EDIT: Jon, to transition to Hardcore just take your songs, add more distortion and do it in double time.

thisis sceneSUICIDE 11-18-2005 10:57 PM

Ha. Hi Vince, Hi Jon...

Too bad my brother doesn't know about ska...He's learning trumpet, and in 6th grade...If I hear the school fight song coming from his bedroom one more time, I swear I'm going to...

Gah. Yeah. I'm so getting my brother into ska.

Hey :)

Make him listen to Streetlight Manifesto. And then make him learn to play it.

Also Cake. Cake is a great non-ska band.
You suck.
omgliekicantbeleeveusedtht2meih8u :(

Mute Print 11-18-2005 11:02 PM

From what I know of them, Cake is a pretty bad band.

Streetlight Manifesto, on the other hand, is amazing.

 Whaaa?

That's it. I'm writing up an article on Cake for the week after next

SM is the best ska band ever though.

Mute Print 11-18-2005 11:07 PM

Okay please do. I can't say I've heard that much from them, so I'll give them the chance if you write up an article.

You're correct about Streetlight.

Edit - My article for the week after next should be interesting if I can pull it off.

No way.

You just like old music.

Excursions 11-18-2005 11:27 PM

No, I just like good music. Old music is naturally better.

Permanent Solution 11-18-2005 11:28 PM

No.

People who think that are just caught up in their own elitism.

DJ Ducksauce 11-18-2005 11:30 PM

Just watched Troy. It was good, but kinda sad. I saw Saw yesterday too. It was ok. It wasn't that great though.

What are you saying Vince :(. I actually like recent music, it tends to not be punk releated music though or ska related music.

:-*

Like whom? All I've ever heard you mention is like old Hardcore, Jazz, and now 1st wave ska... (not trying to be mean, but it really appears like you just listen to old music exclusively, while now more than ever in history there are great bands out there :-\)

Excursions 11-19-2005 12:00 AM

I like some current hardcore like Career Suicide and Fucked Up and alot of hip hop and rap music like Common and Aesop Rock. Of course im not going to descriminate a band because they are a new band but personally I don't enjoy alot of the current crop of bands these days.

Permanent Solution 11-19-2005 12:53 AM

But there's so much more variety. Like there's the new stuff, but there's also the new stuff that sounds like old stuff. Though I prefer the new stuff that sounds new, there are plenty of bands that sound like the same old...

I can't say I like Aesop Rock though I've not heard Common.

Iscariot 11-19-2005 01:10 AM

I highly recommend seeing Walk The Line. That movie was... amazing.

Permanent Solution 11-19-2005 01:11 AM

I've heard really good things.

I wish I wasn't poor.

You were supposed to take me as your date
