I thought that was the point.

Liebensaft 04-10-2006 02:01 PM

It looked bad.

Mischief Brew tooooonnniiight.

Danger Bird 04-10-2006 02:34 PM

I'm thinking about trading my guitar in and getting one of these.

Liebensaft 04-10-2006 02:48 PM

I don't know anything about Gretsch, but I know I don't like that silver color.

Danger Bird 04-10-2006 03:07 PM

Yeah, I'll probably get it in black. I played it at the music store, the action was beautiful.

Liebensaft 04-10-2006 03:17 PM

Speaking of that, the action on my E string on my 4-string bass needs to be raised, but when I use the allen wrench thing on the bridge saddle, it doesn't seem to work.

Danger Bird 04-10-2006 03:22 PM

Are the little threads stripped or something?

KingOfSka 04-10-2006 03:27 PM

I need your guys' educated opinion on new music, I'm talking about bands like Hawthorne Heights, From First To Last, Armor For Sleep, etc.

My friend seems to have become enamored with stupid trend bands like these, and I'm trying to convince him that this genre totally sucks.

What can I classify these bands as? What do you guys think of them?

I have that exact guitar in black. It's fucking awesome. Get it. I dunno about silver though..

Jersey's Best Dancer 04-10-2006 03:40 PM

If anyone in this forums cares, they put up two songs from Rancid's acoustic sets from a little bit ago. Here is the article w/ the 2 songs http://www.punknews.org/article.php?sid=16800&mode=&order=0&thold=0. It was ok, i liked JTTEOEB better than Knowledge, but they were both ok. I think they got one tour left in them....

I just realized how awesome heroin bob was

Genre: bad pop-punk

Remedy: show him good pop-punk bands

Rise Me Up 04-10-2006 03:56 PM

Nononono, don't call it any pop punk. Or punk.

Call it bad hardcore.

KingOfSka 04-10-2006 03:56 PM

The whole scene surrounding that genre really frustrates me. In their attempt to be individual and unique, the kids who listen to that music all end up being the same.

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:00 PM

It's not bad hardcore either. It has more in common with pop-punk than it does with hardcore, you'd rather just pass the bad blame to hardcore then let your precious punk be involved.

And so do the majority of punks.

AIRIC 04-10-2006 04:01 PM

Tim Armstrong is still punk as hell. Good to see.

Yeah. So? Just because you don't care about anything doesn't me I don't.

KingOfSka 04-10-2006 04:02 PM
And so do the majority of punks.
Yeah, but there are tons of differences between punks and emo/scene kids.

For one, punks dress the way they do because they're rebelling against something, whether it be the government, or something similar.

What do emo/scene kids rebel against? Their parents?

I hate that scene. Hate it.

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:03 PM
Yeah. So? Just because you don't care about anything doesn't me I don't.
You only care about punk and no about hardcore. You'd rather see their scene trashed. That isn't fair to a genre that does produce many good bands and probably has a more alive scene then punk.

AIRIC 04-10-2006 04:04 PM

I think pwn.

Right. I don't care about hardcore. And I don't want crap bands being labeled any type of punk, because they're not.

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:07 PM

And I bet the majority of punk rebellion stems from parental rebellion, and many use government/society as an excuse for just simple parental rebellion.

And really what the hell is the problem with rebelling against your parents? I bet you did it. It's part of being a teenager and part of growing up, etching your way out of your parents world and slowly into the adult world.

i hope...this is sarcasm?

I like to quote No Cash

"do what makes you happy not for money or attention"

No. Not really.

Yeah but I rebelled against my parents in normal ways. Staying out past my curfew, skipping school, stuff like that.

Not f'ucking wearing my sisters pants...

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:13 PM
Yeah but I rebelled against my parents in normal ways. Staying out past my curfew, skipping school, stuff like that.

Times change. Different generations think different things mean rebeling. They have a perfectly valid way of rebelling.

Mannik 04-10-2006 04:13 PM

Does that really have anything do to with rebelling against your parents?

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:15 PM
Does that really have anything do to with rebelling against your parents?
New fashion, especially fashion that goes against societal norms is rebelling. Just like punks change their style of dress against that of the time.

KingOfSka 04-10-2006 04:16 PM

Bottom line, their way of rebelling sucks.

Mannik 04-10-2006 04:17 PM
New fashion, especially fashion that goes against societal norms is rebelling. Just like punks change their style of dress against that of the time.
Yeah you've got a point

iliketoplaydrums10111 04-10-2006 04:18 PM

Honestly, I usually wear, now that it is getting warm out is a band t-shirt and jeans

That's pretty much what I wear every day. Considering I have 10-15 band shirts

I'm not into the whole rebelling thing, I just like to chill, listen to good music and have fun. and long walks on the beach call me k?

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:18 PM
Bottom line, their way of rebelling sucks.
That's a stupid thing to say, but hey more power to ya.

I think putting ****loads of gel in your hair to make it a foot high and wearing ultra tight jeans and safety pinned shirts is stupid myself.

sketchyjoe 04-10-2006 04:20 PM

I think everyone else in the world apart from me is stupid.
I think everyone else in the world apart from me is stupid.
Comic relief++

AIRIC 04-10-2006 04:22 PM

Yeah but Joe kind of does have a point.

Brain Toad 04-10-2006 04:24 PM

Everyone who doesn't share your opinions is stupid.

sketchyjoe 04-10-2006 05:46 PM
Everyone who doesn't share your opinions is stupid.
Exactly.

Danger Bird 04-10-2006 05:48 PM

You'll thank me when you share my politics.

Glitterati 04-10-2006 06:55 PM

I think everyone in the world* has worse taste in music than me, and I pity them for it.
