A Custom 17" crash. I won the ebay auction on tuesday morning and it came today, on thursday. Pretty fast.

Too bad my parents are gone and they took the family's digital camera with them.

Mannn audition coming up. I have no idea what to expect.. the school is very very expensive..its the school Stanton Moore went to, and Johnny Vidocovich teaches at.

So I am hoping for a scholarship.. A bit nervous because I am a taught marching/rudimentary player, but a self taught set player..I think I can hang in there though.

the audition is basically I have to demonstrate diff. styles on set, fast and medium swing, afro cuban and bossa nova then play a one minute solo..

I am also going to do some rudimentary snare, and maybe a mallet peice to "show my flexibility" as they put it in the letter.

Its crazy that I will probably be judged by Vidocovich. The man rocks, if you are unfamilar with him go check him out on drummer world.. He taught Stanton Moore, hopefully going there will give me just as good chops..

It's a little darker than i thought it would be, but i like dark cymbals so that's good. Definitely really loud, MUCH louder than my B8s. The sustain is also MUCH longer than my B8s because of the bigger size i'm guessing as well as the B20 alloy?

I'll listen to sound samples of it sometime and tell you how accurate they are.

Actually, my brother got his SM57 today so we might get some audio of it for you.

After sound samples: Mine is a lot brighter and has more attack at the initial crash but it mellows out the same as the samples.

The A Custom crash is a great orchestral cymbal. I've played alot with the Sabian HH Symphonic range, and tbh a regular A Custom 18" crash is alot nicer in a symphonic setting.

Yeah, so i'll post some audio as well as pictures of the cymbal, mousepad, keychain, practice pad, mat, as well as the whole setup. Most of those i've had since Christmas but it wouldn't be worth it to take pictures of them alone, but now i have a reason to make a thread about myself.

I was playing through some Sabian signatures today. And I think that they have turned me away from Zildjian. Sabian, Here I come. I still love Zildjians but Sabian's sig. line is perfect.

Well, I didnt start to look cool. It just kinda got me. Then I stopped. Then I started again when my girlfriend and I broke up. Then I stopped. Then my girlfriend and I got back together and then I started again. I dont smoke cigarettes though. Nasty.

Cigs are stupid. If ANYONE is gonna smoke, why would you smoke cigs? All they do is make you feel a little calmed, and they stink bad, make your teeth yellow, and they are REALLY bad for you.

Weed makes you feel really good, doesn't stink as much, isn't as bad for you, and it isn't as hard as people think it is to get away with it.

smoking is only for the koolest kats.
