Id love it, but I dont know about it happening. |
Nah, don't do it.
1. It's not gonna happen 2. It would make the punk forum boring as hell |
Make sure there are already supporting the idea, so far you got... Stefan, Chris, Jess and Nick and I'm sure there is more people.

It's been tried, many times. If we got a second sub forum, other forums would want one too. And it won't get its own forum because it's not that popular. |

What if we changed "Other Music" to "Ska/Other" |
Also, there's a good chance we'd get a bunch of idiots like "OmGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg, reggae! bob marley plays reggae, I loooove pot... I mean bob marley"

Thats true, here is my attempt a long time ago... Well, I dont understand why the hell there isnt a separate forum for ska. I know the punk forum also discusses this topic occasionaly but it should have its own forum. As I see it, most people on the punk forum also like ska music so why not make its own forum so that there can at least be another forum for us people who like ska to go on. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy the punk forums, and im either on here, guitar, or songwritting/lyrics most of the time. I think if they could make a forum for pop-punk and jazz which not a lot of people are on, they can at least make a forum for ska that would get way more views than either of these. I realize that there is a "Ska Education and Discussion" thread but it would be cool if ska could have its own forum. Now a days ska is very popular with bands like Streetlight Manifesto, Less than Jake and Catch 22, Mad Caddies, Mephiskapheles, MU330, Mustard Plug, The O.C. Supertones, Operation Ivy, Pain, Reel Big Fish, RX Bandits, Ska-P, Skankin' Pickle, Choking Victim, The Heatskores, Deltones, Hotknives, The Loafers, Maroon Town, Potato 5, The Riffs, Skadows, and The Trojans. So I feel strongly and im sure other members do to that there should be a separate forum for this uprising genre, so please state ur opinion |
Think about the punk forum though. We've taken away hardcore already, if ska gets taken away as well, what's left? Clash, sex pistols, and ramones? What a great forum that would be.

The Ska Education and Discussion Thread, The Official Streetlight Manifesto/Catch 22/BOTAR Thread, not to mention the countless Ska band threads (Bedouin Soundclash, all the Band Profiles that have been done on Ska bands over time. |
Then shouldn't Punk be a Subforum to Ska?
What if we changed "Other Music" to "Ska/Other"
That would never happen. Other Music is a fun forum on it's own.
Also, there's a good chance we'd get a bunch of idiots like "OmGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg, reggae! bob marley plays reggae, I loooove pot... I mean bob marley"
Those morons should die. Especially the ones who wear his shirts with Redemention Song on the back and they probably think it's about pot. |
Are you completley retarded or what?
Well your saying the Punk forum is nothing without Ska. |
To be honest, I was exaggerating to make my point seem more valid.
But still, the hardcore sub forum is here because it is a smaller genre of punk. Punk is not a smaller genre of ska. |
MX is fine as it is.
|
Ska totally deserves it's own sub-forum.
|
I hate how on Sputnik Ska is grouped under punk, but Reggae is under other. Too many stupid people think Ska came from punk, when ska was around before punk and didn't touch punk until the Americans got their hands on it.

I don't listen to Ska apart from the specials but i think it needs its own forum.
|
Alright, fair enough, but is Ska bigger than Hardcore and Emo?
Not in current popularity. If it was the 90s, then yes it would be. But now hardcore is the big thing. |
Alright, fair enough, but is Ska bigger than Hardcore and Emo?
Ska/Reggae deserves it's own sub-forum just as much, or more, than Hardcore/Emo. That sub-forum is pretty useless actually because most of the Emo kids post in Pop-Punk. Why not make Hardcore/Emo into Hardcore/Ska? |
Alright, fair enough, but is Ska bigger than Hardcore and Emo?
I doubt it. Hardcore is becoming increasingly popular, and there's too many bands out to count. Ska on the other hand, is still kind of in a rut after decreasing in popularity during the late 90's. And there are approximatley only 239 ska bands. |
Why not make Hardcore/Emo into Hardcore/Ska?
They're too different from eachother to be in the same forum. |

Why not make Hardcore/Emo into Hardcore/Ska?
Your ideas are getting more and more insane! And I don't know of any emo bands pop-punk posts about. All the emo discussion I've seen has been in it's correct forum. Pop-punk listens to pop-rock and some bad pop-punk with some good sprinkled here and there. |
