cb, why don't you review anymore?
|
i felt like i could never top my a7x review
no idk i thought all my reviews sucked, which ones did you like |
norma jean, which i just reread, but you're NEVER on the review site anymore so i guess i was hinting more toward that.
|
i think the review site sucks, most of the staff writers' stuff is pretty bad
|
change it up damn. but yeah i feel you. still reviewing more would give me some more insight to bands i need to check out. (i'm such a selfish person hah)
|
i dont listen to stuff like that anymore really, but i have a music blog that i update occasionally if you wanna check that woosamonsaroad.blogspot.com
|
alpinist is fuckin great dood
i already have em. |
me either, haha but the fat that you don't means you need to review more.
|
i already have em.
if you like Alpinist there is a good chance you'll like I.Witness and The Spectacle as well. Iskra are just universally accepted as awesome. |
Ekkaia too.
|
what the fuck is neo-crust? is that a way for crusties to say they like screamo without actually saying screamo?
|
neo means new, so I'm assuming he means newer crust bands...
|

I don't now. I just said Ekkaia because I saw Alpinist mentioned. |
neo means new, so I'm assuming he means newer crust bands...
you don't quite grasp the english language thoroughly so i'll let this slide, but neo doesn't just mean new, it also implies a break from the original in some quality. |
nice. but neo is not an English word. it's a Greek word. it means "new" in English.
|
nice. but neo is not an English word. it's a Greek word. it means "new" in English.
i'm glad that you know it's root, but i'm telling you what the usage of it implies in this language. |
Ekkaia too.
srsly, mad underrated |
thx guys. I have ekkaia too. way good shit
someone recommend me some newer hardcore releases, lets say 2008-2010 |
i'm glad that you know it's root, but i'm telling you what the usage of it implies in this language.
"this language" meaning what? American? because in no English dictionary I have ever encountered does it say that neo is used when a "break from the original in quality" occurs. imply whatever you want. the word still means "new". so will any dictionary tell you. |

i thought neocrust was some way for crusties to distinguish their music from hipster crust using violins n shit
|
here's about fifty of them:
http://thatspunk.net/blog/category/hardcore/ go nuts.
what do you suggest i get first? |

do you have to fucking argue about everything? i am 100% certain that i have a better understanding of my NATIVE language than you do. i'm not trying to give you shit or bust your balls, but this would be like me trying to tell you you're wrong about the meaning/usage of a norwegian word. |

feel free to correct my usage of the Norwegian language if it's wrong. I'd appreciate the heads up.
what do you suggest i get first?
here's five of my favourites: http://thatspunk.net/blog/2009/03/the-ergs-upstairsdownstairs/ http://thatspunk.net/blog/2009/06/last-light-no-past-no-present-no-future/ http://thatspunk.net/blog/2010/07/i-witness-secret-handshakes/ http://thatspunk.net/blog/2010/02/cut-short-cut-short/ http://thatspunk.net/blog/2010/01/short-ride-cant-keep-us-out/ |
you are absurd.
so i saw the rival mob last night in richmond. band is fucking awesome live, if any of you get a chance to see them i highly recommend it. |
christsimpson the dicitonary isnt always that quick to fit word definitions to the vernacular
|
christsimpson is right, though. neo is often used in the sense he describes and is also more accurately used in that sense as well.
|
neo is more often used in a sense that something is new but is different in some sort of fashion from the original.
i.e. neo-feminists and feminists are both labels that can be used for similar but slightly different groups. and accuracy of a word is based on a dictionary definition as opposed to common vernacular usage which is what i am getting at. why would you say neo-crust in reference to more recent new crust bands as opposed to just new crust bands? |
this is a case of the english language being redundant and stupid more than anything
this coming from an english major D= |
