Hmmm, kinda off topic but what do you guys think of older pop style stuff? Like Billy Joel. I personally love Piano Man, and always play along with it when its on the radio.

(i'm not talking disco or electronic pop, I'm talking good softer stuff).

MalcolmYoungRock 09-24-2004 09:33 PM

What about After the Gold Rush?

Rock n Roll Animal 09-24-2004 09:49 PM

After the Goldrush has a great set of songs but i don't really think that slow piano and vocals songs fit Young. Hey, i love his stuff as much as anyone, but i prefer his countryish/folk and rock songs.

Woodstock 09-24-2004 09:55 PM

Unbanned, wOOt!

MalcolmYoungRock 09-24-2004 09:55 PM

Why'd you get banned?

PinkFreud 09-24-2004 10:11 PM

ok. a little late but i know a few good relatively unknown bands. ram jam, frijid pink, mc5, ten years after, graham central station (more funk but still, some of the best basslines ever). theyre all really good but not many people have heard of them.

lunch998 09-25-2004 09:33 AM

Without Four Sticks there would be no Rock and Roll.

When they were recording Four Sticks, they got sick of this song and Bonham started playing this drum part from a Little Richard song. Page started to play this riff and an instant classic was born.

Ahh, these people will follow me to my grave.
Did you know Bonham actually played the Four sticks with Four Drumsticks? He has just seen Ginger Baker playing a concert and he was pissed off and wanted to show that he was better than him.

Edit: Turns out I'm and idiot cause he was being sarcastic. So nevermind the first bit.

gmoneyguy 09-25-2004 10:33 AM

I can't believe you all thought I was serious.

Woodstock 09-25-2004 10:33 AM

Man, Bohnam was awesome. Shame, real shame.
