socially it was very polarised between ultra-privileged oblivious people and very bitter nerds from working class families, and i was kinda in the middle

we'd get lectures on 'religious and racial tolerance' all the time because the students were notorious in the area for being bigoted, but the teachers were terrible at solving the problem, mostly cause they were cunts as well

i didnt have relationships with any teachers except for the ones who noticed that i was really smart and wanted me to apply myself more

i just sort of walked around and daydreamed, mostly about girls, had mostly good rapport with all the various groups but wasnt a regular component of any

yeah my best relationship was with an english teacher. i dont like thinking back to high school anymore considering how i fucking squandered it and im sort of bitter about how little my parents pushed/prepared me

Never hung out anywhere at school back then. I made myself as invisible as I could and spent as little time as possible at school. I tried to fit in with some of the people my old friends hung out with, but that usually resulted in me awkwardly standing outside of the group. When I got in my final year, I gradually became less of an outcast, but then I pretty much stopped caring anyway because I was high most of the day every day.

i think they sort of wanted to expel me for ages but didn't have good grounds, i never bunked or anything. the trigger was kinda convoluted. my maths teacher said something rude, can't remember what, that he'd heard from a previous form tutor about me, so i said 'is that what the two of you do, bitch about me in the staff room', he gave me a detention, i didn't go to it, he gave me a friday detention, i didn't go it, he gave me another one, i didn't go to it, my head of year gave me a saturday detention, i didn't go to it, then my headmaster summoned me to a meeting about it and i turned up drunk so they kicked me out.

Nobody here has lunch money. Most kids bring home made sandwiches or something like that. School cafeteria here are mostly for when students want an extra snack or forgot to bring any lunch for themselves.

no, just sat the exams, got a job in the meantime.

they didn't give me a lot of support making uni applications, which is pretty contrary to their policy so maybe they saw me as a liability.

just seemed strange that they kicked me out at such a late stage.

yeah gettin arrested sucks the cops are really violent here in texas they beat the shit out of you if you get arrested it's really fucked up
