cry cry waa waa i suck at math how do i factor this?
Use the quadratic formula, dummy.

Edit: I clicked edit for some reason, I forgot. No edit. :upset:
Midwinter break=7.5 day weekend ftw
Not sure how that one works out, exactly....but meh.

robo2448 02-16-2006 06:43 PM

I get all of next week off. It's going to be sweet. Except my mom wants me to visit a lot of colleges next week. I need to go to some small, hippy college here in the northeast. I'd really like to go to Brown, because it's pass/fail and my cousin who went there said all he did was play frisbee, listen to Phish, and smoke pot, but it's like impossible to get into:(

jpj 02-16-2006 06:56 PM

I get a 4 day weekend :D

I have Monday off I think. Whopee.

zabbit82 02-16-2006 08:04 PM

I only have 4 days off. I need soo much more than that.

MBS 02-16-2006 08:12 PM

I have Monday off too. Hurrah.

Lunch 02-16-2006 08:14 PM

Oh well, I get out an hour and a half early every day due to partial schedule. Every week feels special to me.

/senior

Krabsworth 02-16-2006 08:15 PM

When you get out of hi school and grow up will you still visit the classic rock fred :(

TheDMV 02-16-2006 08:16 PM

I have Monday and Tuesday off.

Lunch: How many credits are you taking?

Lunch 02-16-2006 08:18 PM

I have 6 classes now instead of 8. We have block schedule so I take 3 classes every day. It still may seem like a lot, but really it's a very nice break compared to a full schedule.

MBS 02-16-2006 08:18 PM
Lunch: How many credits are you taking?
I've made a plan where I can get out at 12:00 every day because I'll be done with all my credits by the beginning of senior year.

/involves 2 years of summer school

Krabsworth 02-16-2006 08:20 PM

Ugh summer school scares me.

I may get an 8 hour job detassling corn this summer.

JonG 02-16-2006 08:25 PM

Wow, screw all of you with your dismissals. None here.

Even though we should've today..

I still have eight classes a day. My one friend who's a senior is taking the bare minimum of 5.4 credits.

Yeah, that's right: I have friends who are seniors

Broken Arrow 02-16-2006 08:28 PM

I was at work tonight chopping raw chicken with a rather large knife, than the power went off for 20 min. It was sweet.

I got today day of because it was freezing rain and the power was off for a while in the morning. It's thunderstorming out right now.

Thunderstorms in Febuary in Canada make things messed up.

I read and occasionally posted on MX when the power wasn't out. I also wathced the first period of the Canada/Germany hockey game but than the pwer went out and when it came back on my work called me in.

I also posted my Tonight's the Night review which was okay.

Jacaranda 02-16-2006 09:05 PM

Its 35 below here. I get Monday off, I'm really cold. Luckly we fixed one of our heaters earlier today or else I would be dead.

Krabsworth 02-16-2006 09:13 PM

This Luv Machine album is ace.

Lunch 02-16-2006 09:16 PM

I really like the Kahvas Jute album, I listened to it in my car today. It was fairly straight forward, but still quality.

Glitterati 02-16-2006 09:27 PM

Oh crap :(

There's a small used cd store in Vancouver I go to sometime. And the owner is this really cool guy in his '50s named Scotty, real nice guy, we always talk about music whenever I drop in and stuff. I just read in the paper he has cancer :upset: He might only have a few months to live :(

This really sucks  Cancer can go **** itself.
Complete the square.

EDIT: I think it might be 5n(5n+4)-4

Not sure, though.
No that's not right, it's not a factor.
(-b+- (square root of b^2 - 4(a)(c))
2a
Ya you have to do that.
Wait, I think that formula is to simplify it, I'm trying to factor it.
That will give you the zeros then from that you know the factors.

the factors are: (x - {(-b + [sqrrt of b^2 - 4ac])/2a)} )
(x - {(-b - [sqrrt of b^2 - 4ac])/2a)}
Reduce your radicals, bitch.
erm no

sqrrt of 800/10 =/= 8

sqrrt of 800/10 = 2 x (sqrrt of 2)

Math n00bs

rockinbass17 02-16-2006 09:46 PM

My neighbor, a man I knew since I was like four, and like a family member, died in November because of cancer of the brain. It was so sudden and shocking, unbelievable. Sorry man, I know that cancer's a terrible thing. My respects to the man.

BigTrav415 02-16-2006 10:21 PM

I'm still in 9th grade in some tiny private school in some tiny town in some state called North Carolina that no one's ever heard of or cares about. FTW.

Damn, missed the algebra discussion. We just did that stuff about a month ago, right now we're on radicals, which is easy as hell. But the hardest chapter we've done was the one we just did, which combined solving cubic and higher degree equations and synthetic/long division of equations by binomials. Ghey. I got an 83 on the test because I missed about half the class discussion from being out, plus I didn't bother to study or even read the chapter. Normally I make high As.

/nerd ego

Holy crap folks, I just found the coolest thing ever. I might make a thread on it.

www.pandora.com

I started out with Pink Floyd. It played me Any Colour You Like (it read my mind about my favorite Floyd stuff, I swear), then went to Never Me by Moving Sidewalks. I decided to try something else, so I typed the Led Zep. It played me Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp (again, read my mind), then Pinball Wizard - The Who (again, wierd), then Everybody's Got Something To Hide But Me And My Monkey - The Beatles. Now playing, Undun - The Guess Who. Check it out. Oh, now Carouselambra - Led Zep (this is really wierd, it's honestly picking my favorite songs from each band)

Oh, that reminds me. Got a stack of vinyls from my mom's old room at my grandma's house. Lemme list 'em.

Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits
Allman Brothers Band - Brothers And Sisters
Three Dog Night - Golden Bisquits
Bangladesh (cover/package only :( )
The Guess Who - Wild One!
Alice Cooper - School's Out
John Denver - Spirit
Deep Purple - Who Do We Think We Are! and Made In Japan
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping
Gregg Allman - Laid Back
Fleetwood Mac - (? I have no idea what this album's name is... I'm gussing s/t)

And my personal favorite: Woodstock \m/

EDIT: When I got up to go get the vinyls, I tripped over my laptop's power cord and almost landed on my hurt knee. My laptop whiplashed off my bad and almost hit a glass table, narrowly avoiding it and landing instead on my couch. Jesus is with me tonight.

Jacaranda 02-16-2006 10:27 PM

Pandora is really old Trav, just an FYI there has been many threads about it.

When I typed in Jane's Addiction I got Default and Ted Nugent. Not what I like at all.

The Stones get - Doo Doo... by the Stones and them some Free, then Randy Newman. Again... meh.

BigTrav415 02-16-2006 10:29 PM
Pandora is really old Trav, just an FYI there has been many threads about it. By the way, I'm homosexual.
Okay. The site I found it on said it had just come out. I wasn't actually going to make a thread on it anyway, too lazy. It's giving me good music though.

Ummagumma made it on the first Best Covers poll :)

No, no. Square root 800=square root 100 times square root 8.

Therefore, square root 800=10 square root 8.

Then you reduce the fraction. Hang on, I'll do it in paint.

Well I remember seeing it around right when I joined MX. So that was probably around April or March, then I just saw it in Rolling Stone about 2 weeks ago.
Ya sometimes it gives me a good song or two, but nothing I haven't heard before.

That Best Covers Poll is just dumb... its not official at all to my knowing the guy doing it has hardly any organization going on. I'm surprised it got this far. Plus the topic Best Covers is just dumb. No cover is better then another even more so then musicians skills covers are just a matter of opinion. Pure opinion.
