That would be counterproductive.
Then, instead of paying attention to actual issues, the president and candidates would be constantly scrounging billions to campaign and pull off these lame feats of governmental prowess that are only meant to impress morons. And everything would be constant mud slinging. Edit: Well...nevermind. I guess that isn't so different from what goes on with the standard two term thing... |
It all looks the same. I like Canadas bills. Nice and colourful.
Yet not as blatantly homosexual as brazils (at least on the simpsons its all pink and purple) EDIT: the two party system is terribly flawed |
Oh yea that's the other thing. No private contrubutions for campanging.
The governemtn gives each candiate the same amount, and the same amount of allocated tv time to make statements. So it's even across the board. This forces PERFORMANCE based elections, not popularity based. Anyway.. so i have this formal dinner/dance tonight. Should I do a mo-hawk? I'm thinking I will. |
This sucks, as election campaigning is coming to an end, gas prices are rising again.
|
my dog uses a pillow for his head... it's cute..
gas is like 2.21 here, well last night |
The two party system isn't going anywhere in our lifetime.
I've been reading A Confederacy of Dunces all week. |

^ friggin asshats!
I wouldn't be so sure about that... as I said, the next pres will prob make or break things. The country splitting up will prob be the most likely. CA could be on it's own without a problem, we have the 5th largest economy in the world. Easily could stand on it's own, and prob be a lot better off. There is a natural progression to countries, the US is young, it will go through the same phases as almost all others have. At it's current rate of decline, not to much longer.. it's really only being supported by major corperations at this point. |
It's $2.25 on the res at the moment.
I only drive to school and home. I get thirty some miles to a gallon. Eh. |
I get like 16.. hahaha
|
How the hell do you drive that thing?
My father had a truck about that size, and I had to back into the barn with it once. It took me at least 20 minutes, and even then it wasn't even remotely straight. |
I definately like Canada's government system over the US'. Multi-party, responsible government, etc.
Government is still government though, and neither is what I would consider "ideal" for myself or many many many others. |
*shrug* learn? haha it's nowhere near as big as alot of SUV's, Hummers and larger trucks. There are a ton of massive monsters around here..
people who feel so small inside they need to take a f350, lifted it 2 feet get 50" tires and loud exhausts haha I get like 22 ont he highway, it's cause there are lights every 100 yards here, it's very lame |

And WaR, I believe senate reform should be at the top of our priorities, they waste an ungodly amount of money. |

I only drive to school and home. I get thirty some miles to a gallon. Eh.
Yeah. My car gets about the same, and when I'm home I drive it everywhere. Gas was never really a problem, except for the few times when it got REALLY high (like 3.75) |

Oh man, that made me think of the city (basically the size of a town, nothing big) just southwest of here. The main road through the city has 6 or 7 lights, and the way it's set up is that if you hit the first light and it's green, all the rest are green. If you hit the first and it's red, yup, all the rest are red. It's so bad driving through there, since it's a 50/50 chance on whether it'll take you 5 or 25 minutes driving through. |
We have loads of partys, but we have the main 3:
Labour, who are current. A complete mess and can't do anything right Conservative: They're like the rich crack dealer. Look swish and rightfull, but underneath their just a bunch of sleazy buisnessmen Lib Dem: A joke Then you get ones like the green party who are a laugh, UKIP for people who thing the EU is a complete crock, monster raving luney party for people who wanna vote but not seriously. And our money is awesome. I like euro notes, cos they have loads of different pictures on them depending on what country they were made in! |
I didn't drive when it was over $3.
If it gets that high, I'm just going to get a ride with my sister or parents and waste time at the gas station or on campus. Or I'm getting a moped. Moped would be cooler... Edit: We have loads of parties. Socialist Workers, Socialist Equality, Libertarian, Green Party, Right to Life. We even have a Rent Is Too Damn High party. None of them will ever gain power over the main two, although I am no longer voting for Mr. Calero. I'm voting for the head of the Rent Is Too Damn High Party, Jimmy McMillan. |
Vote Green
|
Vote Pink
|
Green party is full of hippies.
|
Hell yes. Legalize marijuana ftw. Plus they all care about the earth and sh!t, and our earth is pretty fvcked so I'd like to see what they do.
|
they would sit around and smoke pot talking about how they want to save the world but wont do anything about it
|
And that's different from Republicans sitting around smoking joints rolled with $100 bills talking about the world swining from their nuts?
|
I wouldnt know. Things arent ****ed up here in finland
|
And that's different from Republicans sitting around smoking joints rolled with $100 bills talking about the world swining from their nuts?
No no that's the corperations... The governement is not the highest level, they are still pawns for the big boys. I don't mind the swing, so long as I can have a few nice things |
In Finland do you have presidents or what?
|
Yeah. If I ever do become president, I'm going to make congress save their pee in dixie cups. Then I'm going to put it all in a giant water balloon, and drop it on Finland.
Because Finnish people need to get peed on. |
Yeah we have a president here. A female president. Havent you people watched Conan O'brien? He had a whole episode about Finland and our president, he actually got to meet her
|
they would sit around and smoke pot talking about how they want to save the world but wont do anything about it
That's why you legalize marijuana and amphetamines so that people will talk about how they want to save the world, and then feel compelled to do it until they die from cardiac arrest. |
