I'm listening to Killing Floor Right now. It's absolutely amazing.

I don't have many vinyls, they are mostly just ones I took from my dad, but I got a shitload of David Bowie albums from my mom. I haven't listened to any of them though.

Does anyone have What's Goin' On by Marvin Gaye? Cause, I ...uh need it, please.

Yeah that song is amazing. One night, before he became famous, when Hendrix first got into England his manager put him up to play a song or two before Cream went on. Hendrix played Killing Floor and Clapton said he was afraid to go on stage after because he thought there was no way he could ever top that. Hendrix latter said he felt bad for upstaging him.

I love Marv. Sadly however, despite using the album cover as an avatar, I have failed to pick it up. I'm ashamed. :(

Killing Floor = Howlin' Wolf

:)

I have yet to download it, I'm short on space.

I have "What's Going On."

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-15-2006 07:52 PM

What the hell, Rapidshare is being a complete bitch, it keeps saying 1 minute until i can download (for the last hour and a half) so i cant finish downloading an album from there

Leper 02-15-2006 07:53 PM
What site is this? The only vinyl I ever find is for like 17 dollars and no way in hell am I going to buy something for that much. I remember someone mentioned he doesn't buy vinyl if its over 5 dollars.
It's a site based out of Winnipeg. It's awesome because I can just order the vinyls online, and then rather than paying for shipping costs, I can go and pick them up.

Most of these are around the $5 range, give or take, but Live at Leeds is $10 but from what I hear it's definitely worth that much.

Also this website has DSotM listed in great condition (both cover and record) for $10...I've been debating to myself whether or not I want to pay that much for it...

That's happening for me too. It sucks. After waiting so long, I want an album:mad:

Glad you like the Killing Floor jpj. I have their 2nd album too, but it's not as good as the first. I'm digging Complex right now.

Broken Arrow 02-15-2006 08:14 PM

I have Live at Leeds on viynl, it came with with a poster and all this other paper collectables. Live a fake copy of the setlist in handwriting and all these expenses and fake tickets and stuff, it's awesome.

EDIT-Me too :(

JonG 02-15-2006 08:19 PM

I sent out What's Going On.

I can't wait to listen to the Marvin Gaye one.

There are alot of Motown songs that I think would sound awesome to play with a 4 peice band.

PinkFreud 02-15-2006 08:53 PM

nevermind.

im currently downloading a king crimson dvd and the full ARMS concert.
Psychedelia group #1
--------------------
-Beatles (?)
-United States of America
-Os Mutantes
-Velvet Underground
-Early Pink Floyd
-The Doors (?)
-Red Krayola
-Silver Apples
-Soft Machine

Psychedelia group #2
--------------------
-Jefferson Airplane
-The Misunderstood
-Spirit
-13th Floor Elevators
-Grateful Dead
-Traffic (?)
-Quicksliver Messenger Service (?)
-Moby Grape
-The Byrds
-Jimi Hendrix (?)

Am I understanding this correctly? I'm a little torn between which group to put some of them in.....
I'd put the Beatles in group two. Others in group two include Clear Light, H.P. Lovecraft, Country Joe, etc. In the first group I'd add the Beat of the Earth (based of their album from the blog site), Arzachel, and maybe some earlier Can (off the top of my head).

A lot of time I think about the two groups of psych as the difference between Somebody to Love and White Rabbit. StL has more of that pop-psych element that classifies a lot of bands in the era (group two on the list above), where as White Rabbit is more intense and in my mind more psychedelic. The above classification is probably better, but we both seem to be illustrating the same point.

I'm digging that peter tosh album right now.

Leper 02-15-2006 10:37 PM

I've finally gotten around to uploading my Floyd collection onto my computer. I don't know why it's taken me this long.:-/

RockAndRoll 02-15-2006 11:07 PM

I don't have any of my cd's uploaded on my computer, it's too stinky and doesn't work properly.

Leper 02-15-2006 11:48 PM

Ugh stinky computers are the worst.
Sup Schyma
Nothin' much how's the baby?
I'd put the Beatles in group two.
I don't know. They're psychedelic songs are mostly really '#1 psychedelia' material. I mean songs like "Strawberry Fields", "I Am the Walrus", "Within You Without You", "Lucy in the Sky", "I'm Only Sleeping", "Tomorrow Never Knows"...etc just sound like they could not have come out of the Bay Area scene. Jimi Hendrix is another one that's hard to group.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-15-2006 11:59 PM

Anybody ever heard Tonight's the Night by Neil Young? It's this rare album he cut after some people from Crazy Horse died.

I can upload, if anybody's interested.

If I had high-speed internet I'd be all over that...:(

So who's heard David Gilmour's new song, "On an Island"? I heard it on my way home today and I really liked it. Very mellow song.

JonG 02-16-2006 06:37 AM

I have Tonight's The Night.

I just sent out 6 Grateful Dead albums:

Aoxomoxoa
