Anyone else got the new Sports Illistrated Swim Suit Edittion?

But yeah, I'm diggin' this whole four day weekend thing... pretty awesome.
Does Scarred4Life still post?
Rarely.

PDWAB 02-17-2006 12:32 PM

So last night a friend of mine had to sit out of a concert because of her wrists, so I subbed for her and sight-read all of her music at the concert. It was a lot of fun, surprisingly. Also the fact that I rocked the house helps a little

Just got out of a midterm... ready to start this weekend and get some long overdue drinkin' and partyin' in!

ZaaR 02-17-2006 12:37 PM

US women just lost to Sweeden in the Semi-finals of hockey. What an upset.

Heh, I have 2 tests, a lab, 3 homeworks, and a project due next week.

I should really already be working :-\

Kif 02-17-2006 01:28 PM

I have next week off for the win

PDWAB 02-17-2006 01:34 PM

I wish I could have a quarter where all I do is play in ensembles and practice. That would be so sweet.

trumpeter 02-17-2006 01:35 PM

g'day poppunk

my week vacation starts today.

You know what? I'd enjoy school a lot more if I had a Powerbook and Pro Tools to play around on it. Seriously, I wouldn't even bother chatting or doing work in free periods. I'd just be making songs and mixing them to make them good.

I'm still considering getting a Powerbook and Pro Tools when I'm 18, but I had a brief playaround on a Powerbook and wasn't feeling it too much. Then again, I have been using PCs all my life.

I can't wait till I get to start doing production at the radio. We get to use protools :D

Plus we can just sign up for time to use the lab once we're "trained" to do whatever we want mixing wise. Yay quality band demos O:-)

PDWAB 02-17-2006 01:48 PM

So the course catalog for next quarter just got released. Here's my extremely tentative schedule:

Italian
Mallet Percussion Lessons
Latin Percussion Lessons
Timpani Lessons
Composition
Percussion Ensemble
Jazz Band
Orchestra

Man I hope I can pull that off.

Permanent Solution 02-17-2006 01:51 PM

Joel you have one more class:
e-tutoring Vince on Latin Percussion O:-)

Pro Tools is amazing man. We use it in the studio, and it's so big to use. I've never used Garageband, but I think our Mac at school has it on.

I downloaded Pro Tools once, but it said it couldn't install because it didn't have a compatible sound card heh.

trumpeter 02-17-2006 01:52 PM

protools is simply the most amazing program, ever.

OK, how are you going to fit that in? How many lessons a day do you have?

Oh, and I love The Fall Of Troy so much right now. My friend recorded drums and guitar to "F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X." and it sounds awesome. I'll try and bootleg a copy of it heh.

I know, they were introducing us to the lab and they were like "SO we have protools, it's an industry standard. It's way better than anything we need here. But it's a lot of fun, so enjoy!" :D

I was at this masterclass on protools and the guy was like a protools "master" and he was just messing around and he found something he'd never seen before, it was crazy.

Kif 02-17-2006 01:55 PM

The amount of plugins for effects on there is insane though. I want it now!

trumpeter 02-17-2006 01:56 PM

I was going to drop 4k on a computer for protools and a mackie mixer of some sort, then I was like "wait...I don't have that kind of mooney"

Kif 02-17-2006 02:00 PM

Well I'm getting some money when I'm 18 which my mum borrowed out of an account my grandparents left me, so I'm very much considering buying a Powerbook and Pro-Tools for about £2k

The lessons would only be once a week. And the Italian class is the only thing I'd have every day. I'm thinking a standard day would have me go from 10:30 am to 5pm, which isn't so bad.

Vince, I'd love to teach you, but percussion techniques are kind of hard to translate over a keyboard.

Permanent Solution 02-17-2006 02:03 PM

I'm considering getting it for our home stud...

Yeah I'm broke nevermind :upset:

Album cover for Louder Now. I really like it, a big improvement from the naked baby. And they have the 152 on there again.

PDWAB 02-17-2006 02:04 PM

I'm pretty sure I would have no idea what to do if I ever got Pro Tools. I would just like let it run and wait for hot traxx to come out of it.

Haha, yes it is :-\

True...but I want to learn Latin percussion, it's so fun :(

Well, when everything is fun except for Italian, it doesn't seem like a lot.

Surtr 02-17-2006 02:25 PM

Thats true...Time flies when your having fun lol

Kif 02-17-2006 02:41 PM

TBS avatar. I kind of hurried it, so it's not as perdy as I'd have liked it to be.

What's up with the 152?

Mute Print 02-17-2006 02:43 PM

It's still pretty awesome Kif.

I might be seeing TBS in May. I'm not sure yet.

Kif 02-17-2006 02:45 PM
What's up with the 152?
I dunno, it's just something they had in all their album covers

TAYF: The 152 above Victory Records
WYWTB: The sign saying "Next Exit: 152 Miles"
LN: Obviously the "$1.52"

HomeCatMickey8 02-17-2006 02:46 PM

Hmmm, this calls for some research...

Ok, I'm too lazy... any takers?

Kif 02-17-2006 02:50 PM

This question’s from my friend Rich, what’s the significance of the number 152? Cos it’s on the artwork for both records. Is there a meaning behind it?

Eddie: Yeah it’s pretty simple. We always used to play shows down in North Carolina cos Adam was from there, so we had connections down there. So we had a following in New York and in North Carolina cos we were always playing there. It was a meet-up at exit 152 on the freeway, it’s where we’d meet up with all our friends, when we saw it coming up we’d get excited so it’s a sentimental thing really.

:)

HomeCatMickey8 02-17-2006 02:51 PM

Awesome.

I have nothing to do for like 2 hours... I guess that calls for a movie...

Kif 02-17-2006 02:53 PM

Now I'm playing WYWTB and TAYF back to back. I haven't had a TBS orgy in a long time

Gnarmageddon 02-17-2006 02:58 PM

You gonna be at the game tonight, Tim?

I'm watching Battle Royale for the first time. It OWNS.

If you're talking about the Battle Royale I think you're talking about, yes it does.

Kind of violent, though.

Kif 02-17-2006 03:11 PM

Oh, to any UKers; I hate Hollyoaks. I ended up watching that Back From The Dead special last night (Stupidest thing ever, by the way), and today I watched 2 episodes to see what happened afterwards. I'm officially hooked again.

Stupid teen soaps
