I finally send out disc 2 of the Stevie Wonder album.

Lunch 02-13-2006 08:14 PM

Robo, was it you who said you downloaded the Luv Machine album (or did anyone download that album)? If so, you think you could upload it?

jpj 02-13-2006 08:16 PM
jpj, did you download the Moving Sidewalks? Pretty good stuff.
Yes, haven't listened to it yet though.
Edit- jpj I downloaded Arcturus but haven't listened to it yet. Isn't the fabled Garm their lead singer? I know everyone in the community thread really loves Garm. But I might be confusing them with some other band.
The one and only.
Fix'd lol.
*beheads you with necroaxe of doom*
Robo, was it you who said you downloaded the Luv Machine album (or did anyone download that album)? If so, you think you could upload it?
Yeah I downloaded it. It's actually really good. Even though I'm missing a couple tracks because it didn't unzip right, but yeah I'll upload it now. Anyone want to download Killing Floor s/t part 2 or 3? Because I have part 1 and it's really good heavy blues-rock.

I downloaded Killing Floor from the site, nobody sent it out on e-mail. Though I might 'cause it's good stuff.

And Beat of Earth is freaking sweet. Glad you guys like it.

BigTrav415 02-13-2006 08:21 PM

God this Beat Of The Earth thing is so awesome. I went straight from Mountain Jam to This Is An Artistic Statement pt. I - pt. II. Jam heaven :p Their dialogue has to be the best part... in the middle of the song someone just yells out "Dill pickles!" then two guys start having a conversation like "It's a triangle." "I don't even see a triangle!" "Oh my goodness gracious." It's great.

San Tropez has long been one of my favorite Floyd songs :)

jpj 02-13-2006 08:24 PM

I listened to part of The Beat of the Earth thing, but it just didn't rub me the right way, like I couldn't see myself ever listening to it again. So I deleted it.

Really? Oh yea, I forgot you're too tr00 for psych anymore.

But really, I could see a lot of people easily hating that album, but I thought it was great.

PinkFreud 02-13-2006 08:28 PM

i downloaded arcturus and realized that i dont like garm very much.

jpj 02-13-2006 08:29 PM
Really? Oh yea, I forgot you're too tr00 for psych anymore.
Oh don't even go there.

Krabsworth 02-13-2006 08:48 PM

Trav did you get the file?

robo2448 02-13-2006 08:59 PM

Lunch, I sent out the Luv Machine. As I said, it's missing two tracks. I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but the 3-4 songs that I have heard were very good, though they didn't seem very proggish to me.

np: Buddy Guy and Junior Wells- High Heel Sneakers

jpj 02-13-2006 09:03 PM

Can someone upload the third track on the Euclid album?

Jacaranda 02-13-2006 09:10 PM
Just out of curiosity, did anyone have the balls to download the Arcturus album I sent out?
I didn't get it
I'd like to have it though so if you could send it to me CursedMale@gmail.com, I was looking for Ulver albums all over town (2 stores.) and neither had any Garm related projects that I was looking for so I guess this'll do.

Seafroggys 02-13-2006 09:18 PM

OMG I FINALLY SAW THE WHO AT ISLE OF WIGHT!

Its so great, fricken awesome. But several issues.

1: The the editor have a problem with John? Even when he was lead singing, like during Heaven and Hell, they never showed him. They also showed Pete way way more than John.

2: Nice job changing the footage for the audio  especially during Heaven and Hell, and the crowd scenes throughout. I loved listening to Pete doing some upper-fret solo while watching him windmill. Now that takes talent.

3: Did they seriously chop Tommy down? I could actually notice cuts in the music, like them taking out verses out of like Go to the Mirror and We're Not Gonna Take it. And they also didn't include Sparks....I mean wtf?

4: And even though Roger was in tune this time, I think I actually prefer the Woodstock version of See Me, Feel Me. The Woodstock one seemed more epic and more full.

Lunch 02-13-2006 09:21 PM

All editors have problems with bass players, thats standard. I never really noticed much problem with the audio and video synching up though. Tommy got cut I'm sure because of lack of video material. On the Isle of Wight Soundtrack they inlude full versions of the songs and also tracks like Amazing Journey>Sparks that they didn't have the video for to put on the DVD.

I did that with a few of them, (The Zodiacs, Euphoria, Taste of Blues), but Beat of the Earth seemed pretty cool.

We just watched Deep Purple live in California '74 down the hall. It was pretty damn sweet when Richie Blackmore freaked and blew up all his stuff.

Do you want Ulver albums? I have Bergtatt, Perdition City, and Nattens Madrigal.

I'd like to hear all the fuss about Garm I've heard a few of his projects but no Ulver or Arcturus, but ya your favorite Ulver album would be sweet.
And if you have any requests I might have them. I would post RYM list but that is so wrong now that I've got so many new albums and such.

You'd probably want to hear Bergtatt. It's the most "normal", black-metal sounding out of the three. Nattens is crazy; the production is completely distorted and my friend once likened it to "listening to a dentist drill for an hour", but once you get used to that it's pretty cool. Perdition City isn't metal at all, more of an electronica album (although it is still badass and might be my favorite of their's).

They also came out with a few more albums to really show their diversity. Kveldssanger is like a Norwegian (I think?) folk album: all acoustic/acapella and traditional vocals. I don't have that one anymore, but it's good too.

Glitterati 02-14-2006 12:57 AM

Man, Teach Your Children by CSNY is such an awesome song.

Leper 02-14-2006 01:44 AM

Yeah I love that song. I've really been on a CSNY listening/downloading binge for about a week now. I'm really diggin them.

Leper 02-14-2006 02:03 AM
I always thought his name was Leper Messiah which made me think it was a Metallica referance. Oh well, not that big of mistake.

Yeah same.
As much as I hate to admit it now, when I first joined mx I was yet another one of the Metallica fanboys that you see around. Granted I was still a fan of classic rock, but I spent most of my time in the Metallica thread.

And then one day, late at night, that god among men Bonzo spoke to me shortly before his current departure. I felt honored, and that's how I got where I am today.:)

PinkFreud 02-14-2006 02:16 AM

weird.

anyway, i'm finally done with my rym account. i have the vast majority of my music on there but i'm still missing a few. i'll add them later. here it is:

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-14-2006 06:00 AM

Hey if you get the chance after could you upload that live ELP album?

NP - Jethro Tull - Nothing Is Easy

PinkFreud 02-14-2006 02:36 PM

jesus, where are you guys?

i'll upload the elp after i upload the mike watt album for badmoon.

robo2448 02-14-2006 02:51 PM

I'm here. I'm bored. I downloaded the rest of Killing Floor's s/t. It's a pretty sweet album. Nothing really original, like Yardbirds/Cream/early Zeppelin blues-rock but it's still awesome. They also stole a lot of blues riffs like Zeppelin. But they're a great band.

PinkFreud 02-14-2006 02:53 PM

are there any good jams on it? i might want you to upload it. check my list if you want me to upload anything.

MidnightRider 02-14-2006 02:57 PM

Beat of The Earth is amazing, probably the best thing I've gotten from that site. Thank god for ChrisGoesRock.

robo2448 02-14-2006 03:24 PM
are there any good jams on it? i might want you to upload it. check my list if you want me to upload anything.
Yeah, well two of the songs are 8 minutes or so long. Pretty good stuff. Like I said, it's not really anything incredibly original or unique, but they're a pretty solid band. Great interplay between the guitar, harmonica, and piano. I'm kind of a blues-rock whore so I really dig it. You'd probably like it. I'll upload it now. Their debut is a lot better than the other album of theirs I downloaded, so I'll uploaded the debut.

As for your list, I looked through some of it, but RYM is really, really slow and your list is really, really long, so I didn't get through to much of it. What albums have you downloads from Chris that you like a lot? Also, that Derek and the Dominoes album, Soul something interests me.

np: Killing Floor- People Change Your Mind (longest song on the album 8:20)
