Someone provide me a list of classic black metal albums to work on. PRETTY PLEASE.
Will do, some of these are folk/symphonic stuff but yeah. Ulver - Bergtatt Drudkh - Autumn Aurora and then Blood in our Wells Noktural Mortum - Goat Horns then Lunar Poetry Abigor - Nachthymnen (From the Twilight Kingdom) Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger then A Blaze in the Northern Sky Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters then Diadem of 12 Stars Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas These are just some well known/a bit more accessible albums. |
Graveland-"Immortal Pride", "Creed of Iron", "Thousand Swords"
Immortal-"Pure Holocaust" as well. |
I've loved Emperor ever since my older brother showed me their Anthems album when I was just a little boy in 97.

"We need church burning in America!!!" |
Hahahahaha.

we need another... AMERICAN black metal revolution... like what happened in norway! with the church burnings... and the reason satyricon is banned from london...
bring BM back to the roots... and take down christianity! |

Don't listen to masscows, none of those albums are very good. Just go with what Steve reccomended you I guess.
|
How are they not good?
I thought you said the only Graveland album you heard was Carpathian Wolves lol :x |
oooh, controversy.
|
How are they not good?
I thought you said the only Graveland album you heard was Carpathian Wolves lol :x
I've heard most Graveland albums, but the only one I have is Carpathian Wolves. Most of them are pretty boring and average, and Graveland is just not a good spot to start for beginners. The Immortal album is decent, but again... I wouldn't reccomend starting with it. If you're interested in it later, fine, pick it up. For now, just stick with Burzum, Bathory, Mayhem, etc. |
Immortal Pride is so good though.
|
Pure Holocaust is good out of those. The rest....not so much.
NP: In Holocaust to the Natural Darkness |
Check out some Heatwave, or Ambrosia, or Benny Mardones.
So to be on topic, getsomething I just got into like Cynic or Atheist, with isn't black metal, but hey... |
why recommend non black metal albums to someone looking for black metal?
|
My thoughts exactly.
|
lol in a BM thread at that.
|
That's what I do.
|
Posting something completely irrelevant to the thread and conversation?
|
Now you know what the review site has been dealing with for about 2.5 years.
I will stop, it was one lame post. Anyway... I will go with Nokturnal Mortum's Goat Horns since what I have heard from it was pretty cool. |
I'm really cold, how grim is that?
|
I love that album :thumb:
I'm really cold, how grim is that?
Not as grim as the time I fell off a toboggan and landed face down in the infernal snows of central-eastern Pennsilvania. |
Not as gr1m as when I got out of the playhouse in Princeton, NJ today and it was snowing and bloody cold.
