Metallica is so awesome. They've got so many great songs. Master of Puppets is their best album in my opinion.

AClotM1 09-10-2004 09:02 PM

Theres only one band I like as much as Metallica, Rush! Rush > all. Oh, and Tool also.

clown_phobia 09-11-2004 03:19 AM

whenver I feel like something heavy, i put ride the lightning on. it's really good IMO. i think i like the black album possibly a little more, but ride the lightning heavier and has longer songs.
There best is probably Dyers Eve or Fight Fire with Fire.....Or wait theres Ride the Lightning......and then theres always Fade to Black.....then theres always Disposable heroes...such a hard decision.
fight fire with fire is beautiful and the solo is breathtakingly beautiful all in all its my fav

burtonbassist_102 09-12-2004 12:16 AM
I didn't like S&M either. I thought it was pointless and overrated.
i, on the other hand, loved s&m! it was a masterpiece in every aspect (except that i would've picked a different song instead of bleeding me, like sanitarium or fade to black). other than that, i just loved it. :thumb:

but i dont want to start a fight or anything, i was just posting my opinion

A-S-S-H-A-T 09-12-2004 01:26 AM

OK I dunno if this was already posted (too lazy to look through whole thread....) But whats your favorite solo. (play/listen)

Mines gotta be the "One" solo. It's real easy to play but ... idunno I just like it.

¿ Zed Leppelin ? 09-12-2004 03:04 AM

I can't choose just one favorite Metallica solo, they're all good. But anyway I just bought this sweet Metallica black-light poster of the flaming skull and it has the Metallica logo under it.

S&M is an unbelievable album. After listening to that for a while, the original versions of the songs seem a little dry(Still good though). My favorite tracks on there are:
-Devil's Dance-The orchestra just adds a whole new level of melodrama to the song. I love it.
-No Leaf Clover-This song just plain out kicks *** in the S&M album.
-Master of Puppets-The orchestra just adds on to an already kick-*** song.

BlinDecsent 09-12-2004 04:03 AM

Don't forget For whom the bell tolls and one. Also the intro to battery was simply amazing with the orchestra. S&M also got me somewhat into the load/reload songs which I now think are pretty good in their own rights.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 09-12-2004 04:37 AM

Ride The Lightning solo is awesome.

Argh, I can't post in words how much I WORSHIP Metallica. They are a religion to me.

So I'm just going to stop here.

legion88 09-12-2004 04:39 AM

sigh metallica, taking precious coverage from Slayer, the best metal band around.

i dont know how you cant like S&M
after metal and rock classical music is the best.

jaymz_is_god 09-12-2004 09:48 AM

I thought S&M was great. It was a good idea and Metallica managed to pull it off well.

Phil Anselmo 09-12-2004 09:49 AM

I agree! I have the DVD

Hey! What's this...it's great that you like Metallica (any sane person does) but a true fan would actually buy the albums....right?

Accentopus 09-12-2004 01:29 PM

Yeah its nice to have the real album anyway. Makes me feel better than if i just burnt cds all day

Paranoidd 09-12-2004 01:33 PM
i dont know how you cant like S&M

Well it's pretty easy...

I listened to it and thought the symphony had no connection to the music and sounded gay. Therefore I didn't like it.

IronPriest666 09-12-2004 01:40 PM

Someone_unknown 09-12-2004 01:49 PM

Why is it noone seems to like any Load or Reload songs??? Even though it may not be their best albums, it is bloody good music anyway....

Paranoidd 09-12-2004 01:50 PM

I thought they sucked, thats all.

Someone_unknown 09-12-2004 01:52 PM

Whoa? There's atleast one song that u like?!?

Paranoidd 09-12-2004 01:57 PM

Someone_unknown 09-12-2004 02:02 PM

Too bad...think Untill it Slepps is good...king nothing and aint my bitch aint that bad either....besides the intro on Wasting my Hate ig kinda great...

Paranoidd 09-12-2004 02:04 PM

I'm not a big fan of Metallica without Cliff.

When Cliff died, it was like cutting their balls off.

Someone_unknown 09-12-2004 02:04 PM

Oh...and I forgot The Memory Remains and Fuel

Someone_unknown 09-12-2004 02:06 PM
I'm not a big fan of Metallica without Cliff.

Got a point...but eh....they're great even whithout the balls...

Armor O'Malley 09-12-2004 02:06 PM

I like Load and Reload...favourite songs include Fixxer, Fuel, Unforgiven 2, Wasting My Hate and Carpe Diem Baby.

Someone_unknown 09-12-2004 02:08 PM

Indeed

Paranoidd 09-12-2004 02:19 PM
Got a point...but eh....they're great even whithout the balls...
*shrug* It's opinion.

I just don't like much post-Cliff work.

jaymz_is_god 09-12-2004 02:42 PM

I liked pretty much all of Load/Reload. My favourite songs would be The Unforgiven II, Bleeding Me, Until It Sleeps and Bad Seed.
