RE: Roadrunner Allstars
I haven't heard it yet, considering it's not OUT yet. :P

However I have heard the song they released from Rob Flynn's team, it was pretty good. Had Howard from KSE on vocals with Rob, and it was pretty awesome as far as lyrics go. The music was decent.

Arcturus:
First off, nice playing. The bass player's amazing, how long has he been playing? Get a guitarist and possibly a singer and you've got a great thing going for sure.

The first obvious comparison is Primus, simply for the bass styling.
But overall musically, although I mentioned them in the previous thread, you guys have a sound pretty close to Tub Ring (at times...they change styles very frequently)

http://www.myspace.com/tubring
Those are all from their newer CD, of those listen to "Sharpening the Sticks" and "Promise Keeper"

You guys sound more like their old CD, "Fermi Paradox" which I can't find anything online yet.

http://www.tubring.com/music/Tub%20Ring%20-%20Invalid.mp3
There, only song I could find from Fermi lol, and a very badass song.

Given time I could probably find someone else but they hit my mind immediately, and with Pizza coming I don't feel like searching through obscure bands lol
Good stuff though.

Alright, I asked a girl to homecoming today in a fairly clever way:

Before she got to school in the morning, I put a note in her locker that said (in collage, all of the notes were) "will you". The next note she found was 3rd period (our school has 9 periods a day). She has choir 3rd period, so I put a note that said "go to" in her choir folder, but our chior teacher was gone that day, so all thekids check in with our school secretary. Luckily, I had planned ahead and given another note to the secretrary to give to the girl (monika) when she checked, simply saying "monika, you ahve a message".

So that was the 2nd message she got. And then, 5th period, we both have English. So I taked to our English teacher a couple of days before, and he really wanted to help (he's an english teacher, a romantic/dreamy sort, possibly the favorite teacher in the school). He hands out a poem in class, but instead of giving her a poem, he slips from the bottom a piece of paper that said "homecoming with" on it.

And finally, at the end of the day, I walked down the hall with a t-shirt on that said, in big letters, "ME?" It was pretty sweet, especially because the ENTIRE school knew except for her. All day everyone was coming up to me and asking how it was going (our school is small, 270 kids), but noone let on at all to her.

(she said yes, by the way)

FockerTheLopper 09-11-2005 12:23 AM

Wow this is a pretty cool thread, never knew what it was about but I just noticed that its been alive for weeks so I just decided to look at it. I'm Billy Condoulis born in Greece in October 1989, I moved to the US when I was 5 in the summer of 1995 and stayed with my uncle in New Hamshire for a month until I moved to my grandma's house in Brooklyn while my house was being constructed and I had to move to Brooklyn to go to school. Now I'm a junior in Fort Hamilton High School in two school bands and a rock band but I'm always looking to get into more because experience is the only thing you can't learn from books and other people. My hobbies include music friends girls and working out. When I'm not doing those or sleeping I'm on this forum or on aim or playing starcraft with friends but it gets real boring real fast because I've been playing it since it first came out. My favorite genres of music are classic rock 80's metal and system of a down. Most people who know me ussually say that I'm very laid back and I never get angry, I get agrivated sometimes(mostly with my band... their like little kids)(Well not sometimes all the time) it takes alot to get me angry and thats a good trait I guess since I'm not really passive so I won't let things go. My goals for this year are to get really good at drums, discover jazz music and win the bodybuilding show at my highschool. My motivation for the bodybuilding show isn't to be the best but rather because the compition was so bad last year that I can't let it go on, the only reason that I didn't join was because I had too much fat on me, but now I've lost about 15lbs of fat and 5lbs of muscle and I still get some more work to do but in 2 months I'll be ready to get abbs and start lifting more seriously. I've been single for about 3 months because my phone got wet and I lost the number of most my friends who I'm not close with but who hang out with alot of girls who I try to hook up with and now that I'm back in school I've accually got like 8 numbers back in 3 days of school, so thats cool.
Well that was me in a nutshell, I always have alot to say, now to check up on my Hall of fame thread

Massik Kretal 09-11-2005 12:30 AM

I live in Brookyln....whats your bands name? Have you heard of Black Stalyon by any chance?

FockerTheLopper 09-11-2005 12:39 AM

No, where do you guys play, I'm in the bay ridge area
Edit: Had to put bands name its now pestilent or something always changing it used to be the city falls.

Massik Kretal 09-11-2005 12:41 AM

Its not my band. My brothers. I might be in it but as of now I'm not.

Do you or did you have Mr.Corn (korn)? I dunno how to spell it.

Seafroggys 09-11-2005 12:41 AM

Hmmm I got neg rep'd for a joke I made in an ahead thread. DBJ is there anyway you can find out who did it, it was unsigned? I'm not going on a manhunt or anything, just plain curious, and to wonder why would anybody say that about me?

FockerTheLopper 09-11-2005 12:43 AM

As a teacher no, but I'm gonna for the jazz band and its Corn the only reason I'm not in the marching band is because I heard he's a prick, when I get my program changed I'm gonna have him though

If thats your setup as your avatar its pretty sweet you got specs?

Massik Kretal 09-11-2005 12:48 AM

Yeah hes a huge prick. Actually a small prick. Hes so short. He used to teach at my JHS i went to last year.

By that I mean he taught a long time ago. I graduated last year.

He stopped by though a couple of times. Oh man hes annoying. He thinks he knows drums. I had an emperor on the snare and there was no way I could get good rimclicks and hes like you have to work on that. It's a hard skill. And I'm like no its not. The head is just making it hard.

Also he was like you have to learn how to play the bass drum sticatto. And I'm like uhh no its tuned this way thats it. You cant play it sticatto. This is the way it is.

That jazz band practice sucked.

FockerTheLopper 09-11-2005 12:49 AM

Dude were you the kid that was the tenor player in the marching band?
Edit: O nvm I thought you said you graduated from Fort last year what school did you go to, and oh yeah is he short, I'm short by genetics(my last name means shorty in greek im only like 5'7 5'8) and he is shorter then me

Massik Kretal 09-11-2005 12:52 AM

Oh okay.

Massik Kretal 09-11-2005 12:53 AM

I went to MArine Park I.S. 278. Now im in Brookyln Tech.

Seafroggys 09-11-2005 12:54 AM

Hahaha, no its not my setup, but I could put my setup as my avatar, except it'd look to generic :P

Its my dream setup that I don't even hope to get for another 10 years or so. I'm halfway there cymbal wise, shouldn't be long til I get the rest of the cymbals, but I want to get Sonor Designers.

After I buy a car and build a nice little studio for practice and recording, so obviously the 10 years seems realistic :D

Anyway, this is the specs of the dream set:

14x6 snare (maybe deeper)
12x9 tom
14x11 tom
16x16 floor
18x16 floor
22x16 bass

14" Zildjian New Beats (already have)
22" Zildjian A Ping Ride
18" Paiste 2002 Classic Crash
18" Sabian AA Medium Crash (already have)
17" Istanbul Sultan Medium-Thin
12" Wuhan Splash (already have)

FockerTheLopper 09-11-2005 12:58 AM

Wow, beautiful and realistic, I have that A ping ride and OMG is it great, the only bad thing is the bell isn't responsive so you really need to hit to get a good sound but you will get the metal sound, the bow is alot light so you can play jazz and it won't sound weird but my dream ride is a sabian dry ride forgot size and make either AA or AAX but I played it in greece and fell in love

FockerTheLopper 09-11-2005 01:02 AM

I know some kids who go there and they say all the teachers a gay, there was this one austrian gym teacher who talked like arnold the governator, that must have been a riot, I do a good arnold voice I would have been like "Good morning, it is a great day, I feel good, I feel like training, I feel like pumping up, I feel like working out, how is the situation in the gym room" then I would be like "EXUSE ME, what are you mockign me! you are stupid and you are weak!" yeah I'm a good mood not sure why get back to that tommorow short memory span im like a goldfish
