You know a user is going to be good if he/she hangs out in Alt/Indie from the start.

theredwonder 02-27-2005 03:50 PM

I only came here after 6 months of S&L'n it :(

sweboy 02-27-2005 03:50 PM

Totally. I mean, look at me. I started out in Punk, and... well, I think my outrageous behavior and my total lack of respect for other human beings speaks for itself.

Not if they consider Avril Lavigne and Blink 182 alternative...

Fortunately, I don't

It's cool, dude. The dancing viking hat makes up for it when it's working.

<3<3<3 02-27-2005 04:00 PM

I've been lurking for a while, haven't posted here much lately.

How you been?

theredwonder 02-27-2005 04:02 PM

Alright, The original DVH is back! The trashed version made me feel like a rebel for a while, but it was starting to get lamer.

MindlessPickle 02-27-2005 04:11 PM

yay!

I hung out in CD Reviews from the start. My first review earned me a vote as the best reviewer ever on MX, in a thread going on when I joined.

So, I visisted the university I want to go today. It was cool. Right in the middle of the countryside. Beautiful scenery. The music department of the uni is located in a 19th century clocktower too, which is just hella awesome.

Wanker 02-27-2005 04:11 PM

Rep+ will ensue after I spread more around.

edit: to swe

There can be exceptions

Bangor uni has some of the best surroundings in Britain. Waking up to snow capped mountains and a big greyish sea is awesome.

We also have a library which looks distinctly like Hogwarts.

Iai 02-27-2005 04:17 PM

I wasn't expecting much in the way of scenery - the uni in question is Keele, which is right near Stoke and Newcastle-Under-Lyme. But it's great. Like a little beauty spot in the middle of nowhere.

It's a total student town, too. Supermarkets, pubs, clubs, a charity clothes shop, the uni itself.....and that's it. The perfect place.

Where are you originally from, anyway? Bangor seems like a very long way away to me. :-/

Wanker 02-27-2005 04:21 PM

Does your little beauty spot have snow on the ground throughout fall and winter, and is at a steady 20 degree farenheit(sp)?

Mine is. :(

theredwonder 02-27-2005 04:22 PM

Iai - Sounds a lot like Bangor. It doesn't even deserve to be a city since the population is only 16,000. I think 60% of this are students.

I'm originally from Macclesfield, just south of Manchester. 'The Times' least cultural place in britain and also the ex-home of Ian Curtis

Awesome. Haha, I drove through there today.

theredwonder 02-27-2005 04:44 PM

There are three types of people in Macclesfield.

1) The chavs/scallies/cocks

2) The upper middle class idiots

3) The old people and their teapot parades

Actually the teapot parades applies to the second group also.

MindlessPickle 02-27-2005 04:48 PM

So, which of these three categorys fits you?

Happymeal 02-27-2005 04:50 PM

the cocks

You know a user is going to be good if he/she hangs out in Alt/Indie from the start.
I only came here first because you guys seemed more welcoming :)

Iai 02-27-2005 04:51 PM

I picked up a new word in Birmingham last week.

Ready?

Chavalanche. (n) (chah-vah-lahn-chuh) A group of chavs walking the streets in gang formation.

leiferikson 02-27-2005 04:52 PM

he's in alt/indie forum so he must be an upper class idiot.

wish i was in the clique :(

chavalanche! brilliant!

pixiesfanyo 02-27-2005 04:54 PM

I spent 6 monthes in S&L before venturing out into MX.

Dfelon, burned me enough there that I could deal with anything.
Internet
Thank you.

theredwonder 02-27-2005 04:57 PM

I was in the middle class twits but i seem to have gone down hill lately. Now i live on the "worst" estate in a small 3 bedroom house with my dad. I also lived on a narrow-boat for six months prior to this. Guess i need to add 'vagrants' to that list...

leiferikson 02-27-2005 05:07 PM

I just ventured into the S&L thing for the first time. Funny seeing some people's attempt at lyrics but I cant exactly say im much better. Its actually quite a nice place, aaahh. I think I shall visit again quite soon

Iai 02-27-2005 05:09 PM

I went through a small phase of hanging in S&L. It kinda suck in there after a while. And a couple of the users are just way too annoying, and it tends to rub off on others. Case in point - theredwonder was hella annoying when he first appeared in Alt/Indie, but a couple weeks of our influence and now he's one of the coolest guys around.

pixiesfanyo 02-27-2005 05:15 PM

Yes, S&L is very annoying.

But the Challenges are cool.
I was searching through iTunes and I that this was funny:

No one got this! It's really funny guys!!!

Electrocution 02-27-2005 05:46 PM

Because it says 'Fuck' on the cover?

Little Man being Erased 02-27-2005 05:48 PM

I think so.

ZEROthirtythree 02-27-2005 05:59 PM
Because it says 'Fuck' on the cover?
YES!!!

But they censor the title of the album on the right!!!

 x10

Little Man being Erased 02-27-2005 06:03 PM

Funny, but not that funny.

leiferikson 02-27-2005 06:19 PM

deserves a chortle but no more methinks

Electrocution 02-27-2005 06:24 PM

Good Lord, does anyone else get constantly bombarded by the Neilsen TV Rating people? I actually told the last one that called me that I "wasn't home."
