Anyone else here love Kalmah? Alot of their stuff sounds almost identical to CoB.
|
I haven't heard a lot of Kalmah songs, but they're good from what I've heard.
|
Follow The Reaper is their best album by far, it owns so much. My favortie songs are Follow The Reaper, Bodom After Midnight and Children Of Decadence.

anyone who nos wat im talking about pls reply to me chears (wingding)
Punctuation, Capitalisation and Proper Spelling. Now what exactly is your question? You mentioned the two different versions of Hate Me! I think I know what your talking about, although I don't on the ep. |
I could deal with that then. I could always use something uplifting to contrast my selection of anti-religious black/death metal. Shadows Fall can't be the only non-evil band I own.
Speaking of shadows fall, Alexi totally ripped off some of their riffs on the new album. I know most of you dont have COBs new album but when you do listen to We're Not Gonna Fall, Alexi totally stole the intro riff from Shadows Fall's "What Drives The Weak" and sped it up a bit. Both song's intros sound almost exactly the same. lol who cares though? just interesting to me |
I noticed that too but didn't recognize where it was from. You are so right though, it sounds almost exactly like it. Bodom is known for ripping people off.
|
The outro keyboard solo in the same song has a ripoff of the outro solo in Black Widow.

They're not EXACTLY the same...very similar though. Hey, there's only so many C based riffs you can come up with though... |

Hey, there's only so many C based riffs you can come up with though...
This is true, which is why the band should play in tons of different keys! |
Yeah one major problem with this album is that they try so hard to use Drop C that everything turns out the same.
|
^^^
Yeah I agree with that, they should play in E anyways, it sounds so much cooler. |
When I write music it's either in D or E, usually D. But my keys can be Dm, Gm, Em, or Am, I've written in all 4. Sometimes even Cm.
I always found Sinergy to be a bit disappointing. It's sounds like they tried to be more traditional power metal with female vocals. I dislike Kim's voice, and the guitar playing sounds like they're holding back.
I agree...I don't like Kim's voice either. I love the guitar in I Spit On Your Grave though. |
I think CoB should make an epic instrumental track. That sounds like it could have some potential.
|
I piss my friends off with my metal too, but I try not to get them too mad cuase I wouldn't wanna listen to their alternative.
I barely have any friends that don't listen to metal at all. haha. all my friends like metal ! :D :thumb: |

ye sweden owns.... :) |
I agree wholeheartedly. \m/
|
If this was 1999 maybe I woulda agreed about the epic instrumental thing. At this point I don't see CoB making music anywhere near that.

that is.. actually true... but I would still like an instrumental song.. |
You could listen to Frozen Sky by Norther and just pretend Bodom wrote it.
|
I think they're past that stage, unfortunately. I could've seen them doing an intrumental around Something Wild or even Hatebreeder eras. Not now, though.
