Inside Out, or something like that. I heard good things.
My mate has a signed copy, he really enjoyed it.

which btw has been postpoened again to "early next year"
AHAHAHAHAHA

This is just stupid. Dave'll be dead before it comes out, i swear.
I think we should talk in here more. This is the only place I have to discuss Pink Floyd with other people who love them, and boy, do I love them.

I haven't read the Nick Mason book, but I do have "A Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey". I have yet to finish it, but it's very detailed so far.
A Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey is really a great read. Unfortunately, it only goes up to 1991, but it's still a very very good read.
I just learned how to play Fearless :)
Cool!

On the topic of Inside Out, I heard that it was pretty good, but failed to show the whole warts and all story. I heard that Mason said almost nothing about Syd's breakdown, which is probably the part of Pink Floyd's history I'd like to know more about the most... Ah well, I'll probably still read it anyways.

magicbus 07-25-2005 09:16 AM

Was Fearless hard to learn? I really want to learn some more songs off Meddle, because I absolutely love that album.

Not at all. It was actually very simple.

Purple Floyd 07-25-2005 09:22 AM

So I was at National Guitar Workshop this past week, and my Pink Floyd knowledge came in use. At one of the nightly concerts, they were asking the audience some music trivia.

One of the questions was "Who sang on the song One of These Days?

Out of around 400 people my hand went straight up and I shouted Nick Mason, winning a sparkly guitar strap. Too bad I can't use it since the glitter gets everywhere.

 That's sweet, I love being able to put my Floyd knowledge to use.

I think I'm going to try learning Fearless too.

Saucerful of Secrets: The Pink Floyd Odyssey talks quite a bit about Syd's breakdown, definitely a good read.

I think I'm going to learn Fearless now too.

I started a trend

It's hard to stay focused. Once I hit the verse section, I usually just start playing whatever. I'll have to really try to focus on his licks.

Bleh. Takes too much effort. Plus, I only have 21 frets.

Scooch 07-25-2005 07:49 PM
Anyone read the book Nick Mason wrote?

Any good?
A+

A great read full of lots of interesting facts with many cool pictures. The only Downside is that it only touches on Syd's departure.

DeusExMachina 07-25-2005 08:05 PM

I should get it (Nick Mason's book). I'll do that as soon as I have enough money.

How many did Gilmour use on that song?

I'm going to be different and try to learn Pillow of Winds! ;)

maxwell_1888 07-26-2005 08:13 AM

I managed to download a pretty good version of the whole PULSE concert, which clocks in at about 2.32Gb. The files are so that you can burn them onto DVD and watch on your DVD player. Unfortunately I can't do that so I just watch it in PowerDVD. :D

Purple Floyd 07-26-2005 08:17 AM

I'll learn Seamus!

The 1.3Gb one is awful compared to this version. The only bad thing about the 2.32Gb one is some of the intense blue lights on a couple of songs means the band members aren't shown clearly enough. Apart from that it's great.

WheepingGuitar39 07-26-2005 08:57 AM

the 1.3g is still pretty good
but you gotta wait for the real dvd for it's actual awesomeness

ok so im putting the concert in two .rar files
you'll need winrar to unzip it

magicbus 07-26-2005 09:37 AM

That computer is pretty awesome.

WheepingGuitar39 07-26-2005 09:58 AM
That computer is pretty awesome.
it looks mean

-------
ok it took me an hour but i zipped the concert into 2 files
im going to upload it on yousendit.com now
should take about an hour for each file
but downloading and unzipping will take only a fraction of that time
so dont worry :thumb:
