Good band, I only listened to one song. If they picked up the pace in part of the song it would be an awesome two step part. If their name is a Bad Religion reference, it makes them better.
The guitar player and the bassist are both 17.

NewKindofArmy03 12-13-2004 09:34 PM

Youth Attack were like 14 when they started.
And I think 2 guys in Punishment were around 15 when they started too.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 12-13-2004 09:56 PM

NewKindofArmy03 12-13-2004 10:03 PM

http://www.myspace.com/thesedays I'm plugging this band in again because they are that good.

less talk more rock
I am 14 and have a very wide range of music - i listen to most of the 'core' bands as descibed in the thread, to mogwai, explosions in the sky, and other melodic post rock, but my taste in music also reaches classical, jazz, pop/rock, and ska. I am sick of constantly being catogorised as an obnoxious teen who only listens to non melodic noise and nu-metal. Sure, I enjoy noise bands (converge, norma jean and the like...) but don't you all think that it is time to stop analysing sub-genres, criticizing people for their music taste, and stereotyping young music fans, and time to start paying attention to what really matters - the musicians, what they stand for, and whether or not the music is what you like?
:thumb: i couldn't have said it any better. i just started reading these posts and all today because i wanted to see what others had to say about the "core" bands out there. i am also very open to different kinds of music, and this has brought me to wonderful places in the music world. if any of you have thriving local scenes i suggest you get out there and get to know some of the local talent. five years ago i never thought that my favorite bands would be people i'm on a name-to-name basis. and i'm not talking about crappy high school punk bands, but bands that are intelligent as intelligent gets when it comes to music. so all you kids out there that think you know what your talking about when it comes to music, your wrong. of course there are bands that are just horrible (eg disturbed, linkin park, evenecance) but they are just awuful in every sence. if you get a chance go to purevolume.com and look up the meteah strike (quite possibly the best band ever to come from milwaukee, except of course for the promise ring, and if you ever claim to know anything about emo and have never listened to the promise ring, then you know less than nothing) also look up the felix culpa and since by man, and try to get your hands on the album "quietus" by forstella ford and that will rip any of your "grindcore" to hell. and i guess as a final point, i would stop wasting your time trying to define what you listen to and just listen to what ever fits your fancy, if it just happens to be unoriginal lyrics with two cords like disturbed, then so be it. i don't think any of those bands you guys listen to really said, "hey guys, listen to this awsome sudo-harcore quasi-grindecore metal riff i came up with." they just play what they want. and i would stop calling people "newby mcnewbsters" becuase it makes you sound like an arogant jerk. one more thing, i know if you ever called fugazi "emo" ian mckaye would have a f***in' fit  . so just keep it real, and remember, if we can't agree on everything, lets just agree that linkin park is the most overrated band ever, becuase quite frankly, they suck.

shane italian 12-13-2004 10:04 PM

I personally think that the Death Sentence EP owned the new stuff I'm hearing.

NewKindofArmy03 12-13-2004 10:10 PM

I think it does too, but the new stuff is still really good.

And i'm surprised they haven't found a lable to release the new LP. I would think they would be swept up in a second.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2004 12:49 AM

BuddyBigsby got pwned by the gods of show cancellations tonight. So I drove down to the venue tonight for the Internal Affairs / Outbreak / A18 / The Risk Taken show. Now, I mainly wanted to see A18 and TRT, because I missed A18 the other night when their show with Most Precious Blood sold out, and I can't see the Risk Taken later this week because I'll be working. So this show was going to be perfect. I like IA and Outbreak, but they were more like bonuses in my eyes. So I drive allllllll the way down there, and I take a look at the marquee. Ruh roh, no A18 or Risk Taken! Hoping they just didn't put them up on the marquee for some reason, I go to check the set times they post at the box office. No A18 or Risk Taken. I guess the TWO bands I MAINLY wanted to see cancelled, but the venue innocently just plum forgot about taking the bands off their website. Fucking morons.

The Answer got put on the show. I remember liking them, but I couldn't remember where I heard them or what they sounded like. I didn't want to sit through the 2 or 3 bands I really didn't care about to see Outbreak and Internal Affairs, so I just came home and had a chicken taco. My friend's band is playing a backyard show on Saturday, so I guess I'll just have to double mosh it up there.

CONNER_NWHC 12-14-2004 01:09 AM

dude, the answer are really good you should have stayed and watched them.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2004 01:12 AM

It's funny, I posted that and then about 5 minutes later read the post about them earlier in the thread. Oh well.

cbmartinez 12-14-2004 02:13 PM

That sucks. August Burns Red and The Acacia Strain are playing here in January.

The Industry 1024 12-14-2004 03:06 PM

does anyone know why TRT canceled? and did they just cancel that show, or did they cancel their whole tour?
That sucks. August Burns Red and The Acacia Strain are playing here in January.
EWW.

I saw the Acacia Strain open for BYD. They were terrible! They seemed like a bunch of football players who heard a Bleeding Through song and decided to start a band.

capri sun junkie 12-14-2004 03:48 PM

cbmartinez 12-14-2004 03:51 PM

August Burns Red is good, though.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2004 04:30 PM

August Burns Red are beyond bad.

The Industry: They weren't part of this tour, I don't think. I know they're out here to do a west coast run with Throwdown, but that doesn't start until Friday, I think. I think they were going to do that show just since they were in the area waiting for the tour to begin anyway.

Yeah, they suck. They were on some local show here before, but I don't know if they ever showed up or not.

BuddyBigsby 12-14-2004 04:48 PM

Fuck you guys, The Acacia Strain kicks ass. Maybe they're not so good live - I haven't seen them - but listen to some shit off of ...And Life is Very Long. Brutal. Way better than Bleeding Through.

Listen to this song, they're a local band. They broke up a month or 2 ago though.

I just saw a Victory Records commercial where they said "Waging WAr Against Corporate Rock" and then showed Hawthorne Heights.
