I put in bold my response to each band.
Sometimes good means awesome. See, I like a lot of stuff too.
By the way, I've been wondering who The Futureheads are for a few weeks now, what are they like? I've just seen their name around.

neal_672 03-02-2005 04:42 PM

Yeah true, it's just that everyone's main influence around here seems to be metal, i feel quite isolated what with everyone bashing on about Cryptopsy etc. The Futreheads are an indie band (similar to the hives musically) but with a lot of vocal hamronies etc. Good stuff, check 'em out, i know a lot of people who hate that type of stuff yet love The Futureheads :thumb: Seen 'em live three times too, and met 'em :thumb:

Spaceman Spiff 03-02-2005 04:42 PM

My computer science teacher likes bands such as: Metallica, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc...

PaulSimonon 03-02-2005 04:43 PM

Neal! You like Beck and The Doors?!

neal_672 03-02-2005 04:44 PM
Neal! You like Beck and The Doors?!
neal_672 03-02-2005 04:49 PM

Dylan = amazing

People are calling Bright Eyes (Conor Oberst) the Bob Dylan of our generation.

Bright Eyes is excellent, but he's no Dylan...

Legend!

Spaceman Spiff 03-02-2005 05:18 PM

I hate Bright Eyes, but I won't start another fight.

You could also say the same thing about Nine Inch Nails though, Trent Reznor does basically everything on his own. Sometimes he'll have people to record with in the studio, but usually not.

Dave Grohl drummed on the new NIN album :thumb:

Are you an Eric Clapton/Cream/Yardbird/Bluesbreakers fan by any chance?

Spaceman Spiff 03-02-2005 05:22 PM
Dave Grohl drummed on the new NIN album :thumb:
Yup. :thumb:
Grohl is awesome.

Regardless, Trent Reznor usually does everything himself.

neal_672 03-02-2005 05:23 PM
Are you an Eric Clapton/Cream/Yardbird/Bluesbreakers fan by any chance?
From what i've heard i like Cream and the Yardbirds :thumb: Not huge on Clapton's solo stuff, and never even heard of t'other

Grohl is indeed awesome, my favourite drummer :thumb:

Spaceman Spiff 03-02-2005 05:35 PM

Neal, judging by the music you like, you might enjoy the following bands:
Modest Mouse
The Decemberists
Neutral Milk Hotel

neal_672 03-02-2005 05:39 PM

Modest Mouse :thumb: Been there done that, seen them live, got the T-shirt :thumb:. NMH i've heard of never anything by, i shall check them and the Decemberists out :thumb: cheers

YO_bass 03-02-2005 05:44 PM

The Decemberists is supposed to be a good book (if Tolstoy is your thing), but Im not a huge fan of hte band. I saw Modest Mouse at Austin City Limits this year, and they were the worst show at the entire festival....that i saw at least.

EDIT: That title actually went to Franz Ferdinand.

neal_672 03-02-2005 05:44 PM

I'm out guys, need sleep :thumb:

Ciao
