What was the name of the band Billy Gibbons was in before ZZ Top?
Moving Sidewalks.

Ugh, Montana didn't get any snow it was warm today and sunny. Lame.

jpj 02-12-2006 08:52 PM
The Moving Sidewalks. I downloaded their cd from the site. Great psychedelia. Sounds absolutely nothing like ZZ Top but still very good. I can upload it tonight or tomorrow if you're interested.

And has anyone listened to The Beat of Earth yet? It's really awesome. I know Lunch liked it a lot too. Everyone should give that a listen if they want to hear some really trippy stuff.
I'm interested.

I haven't listened to that one yet. I'm listening to Taste right now and the first track is just now ending.

Okay I'll upload it tomorrow morning. The Taste album is awesome. Take the first song of the Taste of Blues album, multipy it's psychedelic weirdness by 10, and you have Beat of Earth. The album is just 2 20 minute songs. It's insanely awesome.

np Odin- Life Is Only

I'm really digging Odin from this one song. Great guitar and organ solos.

Disc 1 of the Stevie Wonder album has been sent out.
Hell yeah!!
I assumed he meant the last one, because he said it, not them, and that would usually refer to the last thing he said :)

EDIT: I misread his post :( Oh well, you got me this time Jac. I guess I got too excited and got my hopes up for Zabriski for nothing :-/
Does anyone know where to find a good, acurate, FULL guitar tab of Jethro Tull's My God? UG has one version of it but it sucks.
Hah! I've been searching for a half decent My God tab for years now...I used to be a Jethro Tull nut! That song has always been one of my favourites, I really wanna listen to that album right now.

I just made a vaporizer out of a light bulb, it works insanely awesomely good. A pinch was all I needed.

Jacaranda 02-12-2006 11:18 PM

Leper 02-13-2006 12:34 AM

Hehe, Fall Out Boy. Their ridiculously long song title names amuse me.

blue3 02-13-2006 02:22 AM

StreetlightRock 02-13-2006 04:46 AM

Yeah its a really good song, but it sucks because the only version i can find has part of the intro missing, the full chords used and the solo(best part of the song)

and thats awsome with the vaporizer, how exactly did you make it?

robo2448 02-13-2006 08:56 AM

I'm uploading the Moving Sidewalks now. It's pretty good psychedelia.

And Thick, I did download the Dylan Part 1, but I had trouble extracting the files and only got pictures and 2 songs out of it. So I'm not going to bother sending it out, I actually deleted it off my computer.

My friend did that a couple years ago, it's pretty sweet how you can make one. Did you use it yet?

Last night I made up a bunch of crazy stuff on my guitar, and I started recording it, but then I closed the program without saving it :(

NP: Gorillaz - O Green World

robo2448 02-13-2006 09:25 AM

I sent out the Moving Sidewalks album.

np: Ravi Shankar- Homage to Baba Allauddin (Raga Hemant)

TheDMV 02-13-2006 09:42 AM

Has anyone downloaded that Ghost album from the site? It's the latest to be put up. So far it's sounding magnificent.

Yeah I've never seen a complete tab for that song. I can understand why though, it's not always easy to hear what exactly he's playing. If it were easy enough I woulda done it myself.

I made the vaporizer by chopping the very end part of the screw-in part of a lightbulb, taking out the wires/vaccuum dealy (did you know lightbulbs are vaccuum sealed?) it sounds cool when you break the vaccuum. Then you just gotta rinse out the inside of the bulb, stick a straw or hollow pen through the lid of a 2 litre bottle cap and screw it on the bulb. It's weird how a pop bottle lid screws perfectly onto a lightbulb. But it works amazing.

I used it right before I posted last night, and I just used it a few minutes ago! :thumb:

temporary 02-13-2006 02:06 PM

I had a delayed opening this morning, I was so happy. Sleeping until nine owns.

robo2448 02-13-2006 02:15 PM

Did anyone download Killing Floor's debut album? Because I'd like to hear it if someone wants to upload it. I downloaded their 2nd album and can upload it if anyone wants to trade.

I also just downloaded the Electric Prunes reunion album. The first song was good but that's all I've listened to so far.

I always hear you people talking about record shows, but I've never been to one or heard of one being around here. Where do you find out about them? I wonder if Pittsburgh ever has any.

What did you think of those bands? I thought Gandalf and Dark were some of my favourites. Lyd was decent, I didn't listen to the Billy Cox yet.
