This is cool. The surgeon who did my brother's vasectomy a few months ago messed up on the procedure and my brother is now having to get his testicle removed. It's been the size of a golf ball ever since he got the operation done I guess and it's now forming a blood clot. So I guess a lawyer recommended suing for malpractice and apparently he could have a really good case.

gmoneyguy 01-24-2009 07:00 PM

at least he'll have the other one, and maybe some fat stacks

McP3000 01-24-2009 07:00 PM

umm i would sue so ****ing badly if i had to get my testicle removed...

edit: will he put a fake one in there?

Nostalgia 01-24-2009 07:02 PM

He's told me his nut is ****ing huge, but I haven't physically seen it yet, hah. He said he can't even jack off anymore and that his sex life is pretty non-existent because of the pain.

But if he gets out with a couple hundred thousand that'd be pretty awesome.

Permanent Solution 01-24-2009 07:03 PM

oh yay another malpractice suit

Nostalgia 01-24-2009 07:04 PM

I think you'd be singing a different tune if your nut was being removed. It's a pretty permanent pain.

McP3000 01-24-2009 07:06 PM

im pretty much against most malpractice suits, but if it was just a simple vasectomy and the guy has to get his ball removed

thats a little different

i'll grant that without knowing the specifics of the issue at hand it's hard to judge, but in general doctors get blamed too often for things that are not their fault.

big80smullet 01-24-2009 07:11 PM

Doctors have lots of insurance as a general rule so he wont have to pay out anything

Nostalgia 01-24-2009 07:12 PM

Exactly. He won't pay anything, the hospital's insurance will.

And this is a standard surgery. I can't remember my brother ever having testicular troubles, so the only thing that could explain it is coincidence that his nut swells up the same day he has a vasectomy.

Permanent Solution 01-24-2009 07:14 PM
Doctors have lots of insurance as a general rule so he wont have to pay out anything
doctors have insurance out the *** yes but they pay huge premiums to have that insurance

several of my friends' parents are doctors so admittedly I have a skewed view of it, but from what I gather doctors don't make nearly as much as they're perceived to with the insurance premiums they end up paying.

big80smullet 01-24-2009 07:17 PM

yeah both my parents are doctors so i know what im on about here. They pay about 70k a year in insurance but a fair chunk of it is tax deductable cause its a necessity in the workplace or something. But yeah i wouldnt worry about the doctor loosing out too much. his insurance might go up a couple grand a year but it wont bother him too much.

Nostalgia 01-24-2009 07:18 PM

The doctor punctured a hole in his vas deferens. I don't buy that it's just a quirk of fate and not the surgeon's fault.

Permanent Solution 01-24-2009 07:23 PM

^I'm not a doctor so I prefer to reserve judgement for those who are.

Before ever suing for malpractice, I'd ask one of my doctor friends if the doctor actually screwed up because I don't trust lawyers about that.
yeah both my parents are doctors so i know what im on about here. 70k a year in insurance is more than what 50% of 2 income families make in the US.
