35 in florida?
It was 24 when I had to ride my bike to class yesterday.

I am in Northern Florida right now, but my mom told me it got to like 35 yesterday morning down south.

Cold front passed through.

There's an annual contest for amature bands to compete for a chance to play at a slightly-bigger-than-the-contest-but-still-very-small-and-local-festival tonight. I'm gonna get me one more beer and then head off to check that out. :)

Jev 01-23-2009 01:15 PM

My band entered something like that before I joined but there was a band there that had connections with the judges and went through with 100% of the votes. Cunts

TimJim 01-23-2009 01:29 PM

just got back from the record store

i was going to buy In Flames' a sense of purpose LP but instead i got MxPx's Panic LP and a few BTA stickers

Deth 01-23-2009 01:46 PM

those are all horrible decisions

Jev 01-23-2009 01:49 PM

Just got back from the record store to buy some elite CDs i knew they wouldn't have in stock or ever have heard of.

Deth 01-23-2009 01:51 PM

excellent, good to see someone who knows what's worthy of heiling

Permanent Solution 01-23-2009 01:54 PM

There's a metalhead who works at my local record shop and he recently decided to go 100% vinyl and digital so I've been buying up some elite and classic **** as he sells it back to the store.

Jev 01-23-2009 01:55 PM

I bet he ends up with like 10 records and everything else on his computer.

Permanent Solution 01-23-2009 01:57 PM

Probably. His loss. I'll take the CDs. I like CDs just fine.

Jev 01-23-2009 01:58 PM

I love CDs

Iluvatar 01-23-2009 01:59 PM

I love you more

Permanent Solution 01-23-2009 01:59 PM

Jev 01-23-2009 01:59 PM

oh nice

last year i probably got like ~250 but i definitely see myself scaling back to around 100-ish

Jev 01-23-2009 02:09 PM

Since I got my own laptop I haven't been buying much music :(

If I like it enough I usually end up buying it though :)

250 is a **** ton...where'd you get the money for all that?

Actually wait take that back maybe I buy more than that...I just counted and I bought around 100 CDs last semester. =| Of course, I bought almost nothing in the early part of the year because my record shop closed while changing locations.
Just got back from the record store to buy some elite CDs i knew they wouldn't have in stock or ever have heard of.
i asked if they carried Korpiklaani or Moonsorrow

they said that they can order it but it woulda been $25/album

Permanent Solution 01-23-2009 02:12 PM

Metal albums cost too much to buy new.

amazon.com is great for this problem (for the most part)

the former is due to the latter in a lot of cases. Now, some American metal bands have unjustifiably expensive CDs too, but usually it's the foreign ones that kill.

Thankfully, when I find them used, I spend $8 or less, and my shop is really great about making sure albums are pristine if used, so it's basically like new.

Plus, they allow you to bring used stuff back 2 weeks after you buy it for full refund.
graduation money, birthday money, christmas money, and monthly allowance

TimJim 01-23-2009 02:23 PM

i need to start buying all the albums i d/l'd that are good

i almost bought Darkest Hour's So sedated so secure, but i decided that a record would be elite on my wall

McP3000 01-23-2009 02:23 PM

@perm_solu: i use wikipedia for that

on a side note, i just went to the bathroom...and our toilet is missing. It's completely gone...not even there.

what the hell

pate 01-23-2009 02:25 PM

He means inspect the physical condition of the album.

no i mean like a lot of amazon companies sell demo copies of CDs and they have holes punched or sawed edges and shi and I don't like demo copies. Plus sometimes the jewel case is damaged or just grimy and I want a pristine album...or a very cheap one that I can make pristine for less than a pristine one costs

Jev 01-23-2009 02:26 PM

I got a Zen that doesn't work off Amazon.

Sending it back asap :)
