oic, it wouldn't matter to me anyway, the only genres I know are Pop-punk, ska, rap, country, and metalcore (in a way).
They're too confusing :(
I wouldn't worry about too much, the market's so fragmented that nobody really knows what they're talking about. |
K birna. I like CIWWAF. What happened to that :(
Don't worry, their old stuff is still pretty good, but read what I posted in the concert thread. Basically, the new stuff is very poor, and the band seems to have become very arrogant since making it big. Oh yeah, and MTV is involved too. |

Ugh.. Joel: Pretty much lol. |
Who the hell is O.A.R. ?
|
no clue.
|
Apparently, some radio band. I can't find any music to stream though.
Jack's Mannequin is playing Rochester, but as an opener for O.A.R. Ugh, this band better not suck, although if they do, I can leave early. |
WTF
Andrew McMahon should open for NO ONE. Is O.A.R an acronym or the actual name? |
Apparently it stands for Of A Revolution. How lame.
Andrew McMahon should open for NO ONE.
Seriously. WTF? 10 bucks says this band isn't worthy of being roadies for Andrew McMahon. |
He's opening for a band I've never even heard of?!
That's grounds for assasination. Where's my big stick? |
Hahaha.
oh god, I found a stream. Listen: http://www.ofarevolution.com/ It's just average pop-rock music. Ew. I could handle it, but I don't know that I'd even bother staying around for them. |
Mediocre I assume, I'll listen tomorrow.. I won't listen right now because I'd interrupt my Sigur Ros. Which is making me sleepy. I almost fell asleep in Math yesterday listening to it.
I'm off to bed. I should have gone two hours ago. I'm going to be tired tomorrow. At least I got to eat chicken pot pie. Night. |
Sigur Ros is boring.
Night Brandon. |
Sigur Ros is great. When I'm trying to sleep. :)
Depends what I'm doing, if I can actually listen well then it's good. Or if I need some backround noise (EITS or Pelican work better for that though) I don't even know how to explain it. I didn't do much of a good job. But yeah, it depends on my mood basically. Night for serious this time. |
I don't even know how to explain it. I didn't do much of a good job. But yeah, it depends on my mood basically.
Most music is like that for me. Night again. |
Wow...I just spent about 3-4 hours job hunting online.
Total waste of time, I found nothing. At least I tried :-\ |
Were you looking for something in particular, or just something decent?
I might get a summer job for some extra cash. Maybe. |
I was looking for an engineering internship.
Now I'm lowering my standards to anything that'll offer me over $10/hour...seriously :-\ I need a job to cover living costs next year :( |
Oh, that sucks. :(
I think the polls for this round of the Top 100 Non-Pop-Punk bands close in like an hour. Woo! |
Sweet, new polls.
Eek, blurbs due soon :-\ I still need to do more... |
There's still at least 10 days to get them in.
I think I may end up having to put up a tiebreaker, which means the final will be delayed a day. |
I'm seeing their final show ever! :D
It'll be the third time I get to see them. I'm definitely grateful for that.
f u  |
I could break a tie with my alt account <_<
|
f u
Haha, hang around. I get that a lot when I talk about the shows I go to. :p
I could break a tie with my alt account <_<
That would be cheating. :smash: |
Lucky yank.
Anyways, I'm off to bed. I get to listen to all the idiots I know rant about 4/20 tomorrow! Go me! 'Night. |
Haha, hang around. I get that a lot when I talk about the shows I go to. :p
That would be cheating. :smash:
I know. But I'm not above cheating to win ;) Night Damien. |
Well, if you voted the way you did on your main account, the Beatles would be eliminated... :D
...but then people would be mad. I'll just let it happen properly, and hope for the best (read: that the Beatles lose.) I don't know what to upload for the mailing list. I was thinking GCF - Between Christian Rock And A Hard Place, but I'm not sure. |
DEP>Beatles
*crosses fingers* GCF? |
Good Clean Fun. I forgot you weren't one of the hardcore pop-punkers. :p
|
I'm not into it like some of you but I like some.
I try not to get too much of any one style because it gets boring. I like variety. Tonight my playlist has been: Tegan and Sara (Acoustic/Indie), Intocable (Traditional Latin), Rhapsody (Power Metal), and Therapy? (Hard Rock), among others... |
Jamison Parker - Slow Suicide... I am hooked on this song! It is so awesome!
Just if you wanted to know... |

That's definitely a variety. I've never heard any of those bands. :-\
Jamison Parker - Slow Suicide... I am hooked on this song! It is so awesome!
Great band. Too bad they broke up. :( |
I've never listened to Jamison Parker. Hmm...
EDIT: Brian: Yeah, I prefer no 2 CDs of the same genre per day :) You might like Therapy?. |
Brian: Yeah, I prefer no 2 CDs of the same genre per day
Ha, I wish I could do that. But, since I listen to around 10 albums on a school day, and even more when I'm off, it would be very difficult. I could probably do it once in a while, but I don't have enough albums for most genres. I'll check out Therapy?. |
Yeah, that's probably about what I listen to if not more...depends on when I go to bed. I keep a decently balanced collection though which allows me to do so. I need to keep expanding my Latin music as well as my Jazz.
They're like Jelle's (Superpeer) favorite band. Kinda Hard Rock/Grunge/Punk. |
I need to expand my metal collection, and maybe add a little indie too. I recently discoved that thrash is cool too.
Awesome. |
Thrash like Punk Thrash or Thrash like Metal Thrash?
Either way I'm not a big fan but I'm still curious O:-) Indie is good, I can give lots there. Metal too but I'm getting a tad bored...except with Folk Metal, I'm digging that atm. |
Great band. Too bad they broke up. :(
I know, those two-man bands never last. |
Thrash like Punk Thrash or Thrash like Metal Thrash?
Uh, like punk thrash I think, although I'd be interesting in hearing either. Folk Metal sounds interesting. I like Folk Punk. |
Uh, like punk thrash I think, although I'd be interesting in hearing either.
Folk Metal sounds interesting. I like Folk Punk.
Well the best known Metal Thrash is Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer... It is a pretty deep genre though. I think Zack is gonna mail me some Agalloch, d/l that. Also this: http://www.purevolume.com/finntroll EDIT: Hell, they have a pv too so... http://www.purevolume.com/agalloch |
I like Metallica and Slayer, so I guess I listen to a little of both types of thrash.
Finntroll sounds pretty cool. It was almost like listening to Flogging Molly gone metal in some parts. :p |
