RUSHnutGUITARIST 09-23-2004 09:27 PM

****in aye, im only 15 and i am also a classic rock nut. Ur a smart fella to cus there is a lot of us out there. the older it gets the more fans it gets. i would rather see the doors in concert over nickleback any day. i dont mind some of the newer punk rock but some of it is just ****ing retarted. i dont think playing 3 chords fast should get so much credit. classic rock is a lot more technical than new, and it sounds a lot better. thats just my opinion though. newho, yep classic rock is the ****. rock on, and rock out.

Josh
Eh, I'm over the 1k post thing... Must make black and white avatar and be trendy!
That would help. i could give you one of wayne from wayne's world.

jpj 09-23-2004 09:58 PM

wayn's world is such a kickass movie! but the second one kinda sucked

MalcolmYoungRock 09-23-2004 09:59 PM

The Second one was kind of weird. Waynestock? But it had its laughs.

Seafroggys 09-23-2004 10:00 PM

jpj 09-24-2004 11:23 AM

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 11:24 AM

Zakath?

jpj 09-24-2004 11:24 AM

they were going to get him to keeo the gayness out of the thread

slowhand 09-24-2004 12:11 PM

Little late, but I'll try to say my opinion in some of the random topics you guys covered and whatnot.

-Favorite Beatles album: The White Album (While My Guitar Gently Weeps rocks!)
-Cool acoustic song: Yesterday, While My Guitar Gently Weeps (there is an acoustic version, look for it in the Beatles Anthology 3) and Across the Universe, all Beatles songs.

And some of the best classic rock lyrics:
"And in the end, the love you take it's equal to the love you make" - 'The End' by the Beatles

"Beware of sadness, it can hit you, it can hurt you, make you sorrow and what it's more, that is not why you are here for" - 'Beware of Darkness' by George Harrison

"I may appear to be imperfect, but my love is something you can't reject" - 'Old Brown Shoe' by the Beatles

"All I have is yours, all you see is mine" - 'I'd Have you Anytime' by George Harrison and Bob Dylan. <-- Good one for a girlfriend.

" 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky" - 'Purple Haze' by Jimi Hendrix

lunch998 09-24-2004 12:43 PM

My avatar colorful and uncool. ****....

slowhand 09-24-2004 12:53 PM

Well, my avatar is in black and white because that's the only good Clapton picture that I could get of him in 1968 (I think that was his best period... or at least the time when I think he looks cooler than the rest). If not mine could have been anything else. Don't feel bad, you're a non-conformist, and sometimes, that's a good thing.

Anyways, why don't we talk about good classic rock bands that are unkown, instead of talking about the popular ones?

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 12:55 PM

Nobody ever talks about Johnny Winter :(

slowhand 09-24-2004 01:08 PM

Well.. I've never heard of him.

What songs of his are like.. famous. Maybe I've heard it... I dunno.

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 01:10 PM

Seriously?

Johnny Winter rocks, if you like blues. Google it, you'll see him pop up everywhere.

He's still alive, too. Albino guy with long white hair, really trippy looking. Great guitarist and musician, definitely check him out. Progressive Blues and Second Winter are great CD's.

His brother was Edgar winter, who did that song Frankenstein.

Broken Arrow 09-24-2004 01:13 PM

I know him he was in the lastest issue of Guitar World? or Guitar One?

"Father"
"Yes Son"
"Im going to kill you"-The End-The Doors
Well.. I've never heard of him.

Thats usually the problem with talking about classic rock bands that aren't popular.

magicbus 09-24-2004 01:21 PM

Guitar World. I read about him. Also I thought of the same lyrics when I read the post about the Beatles' The End.

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 01:24 PM

Yes he was, I haven't read all of that issue yet. Poor guy looks really bad these days.

slowhand 09-24-2004 01:28 PM

Maybe I'll check him out. I'm really getting into the mood of looking the not-so-well-known classic rock artist. A friend and I start introduce each other to different sort of bands and things. He's the one who first made me listen to Blind Faith (which I love) and I got him into Cream.

So yeah, hopefully I'll find new artist that are cool. And now that I'm getting heavily into blues rock, I might check out this Johnny Winter as well.
Thats usually the problem with talking about classic rock bands that aren't popular.
I think the actual problem is that, because the fact that not all of us know a certain muscician or band, we tend not to talk about them.

lunch998 09-24-2004 01:34 PM
I think the actual problem is that, because the fact that not all of us know a certain muscician or band, we tend not to talk about them.
Thats what I was trying to say.

slowhand 09-24-2004 01:36 PM

Then... I agree?

Now, more unknown, cool classic rock bands!

Paranoidd 09-24-2004 01:43 PM

Sam Gopal. Really good 60's psychedelic rock band.

You'd never guess who the singer was.
