Well I mean, to drop out of school for $8/hr is dumb imo.

Aerodyne 11-02-2006 01:34 AM

Oh, definitely. I wasn't really paying attention to what was happening before I walked in, I just wanted to exert my pimp hand on someone.

Agreed

I made money at varsity working for a company that hired out students for promotional work, paid pretty well plus I got to do some really great promotions.

Launched the BMW 5 Series (latest one) and also the AUDI A6 (latest one), also did the ****ier ones like handing out phamplets but hey, money is money and it looks good on your CV.

The Brad 11-02-2006 01:38 AM

Ay, my pimp hand is larger than Dave Grohl's in Everlong.

The Brad 11-02-2006 01:39 AM

Bike, riding gear, new wheels/tires, stereo, other car mods.

None of it essential, of course, but GAS. Consumerism is so dumb... but got damn it feels so good (at times).

I'd buy that if it was in a p/j configuration and had only 4 strings.

Just wait until I win the lottery. :naughty:

Aerodyne 11-02-2006 02:19 AM

I would be all over that if it was passive. I would just feel strange dropping a ****ton of money on a bass that wasn't active.

OMG@that Drozd. That is so nice, I don't want to think about the price.

Polyamarous 11-02-2006 06:48 AM

That bass is ugly as sin.

Polyamarous 11-02-2006 06:54 AM

Apparenly it's just me though, every bassist on here or talkbass seems to love over-priced woods which look like the congealed bird-shít of 20 years.

Maybe not everyone, but it's a weakness of mine. I really like it.

When it actually comes down to it, I wouldn't pay for one of those ridiculous top woods because I don't really care what my bass looks like - I hardly notice the appearance when I am playing it.

Okay, someone please leave a message after this and give me a hand. I'll be back later to check.

I've got paypal set up on my myspace right now for paying for my CD. How do I get it to calculate shipping? I've seen mention of it on the paypal site, but can't figure it out. This is essential, since I have a buyer from Norway and a buyer from Japan right now who want to know.

Thanks. :)

PietroCrespi 11-02-2006 08:40 AM

Try this.

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click the Profile subtab of the My Account tab.
3. Click the Sales Tax or the Shipping Calculation link in the Selling Preferences column.

**Edit**
I don't use Paypal, I just found that stuff after looking around the paypal site for about 45 seconds.

So I came up with a headless/bodyless bass design today. Think stignberger with a bit of a twist. I even designed my own bridge/tuning system for it. Now I really want to build it.

No head and no body... so it's a neck with a pickup and bridge?

Something like this, only me design is cooler. This is the general idea.

http://www.hohnerusa.com/gbassheadless.htm

The best part of my design is that it uses all common parts, just a regular bridge and tuners. Nothing special is needed.

I see. I find those way ugly. I prefer my basses to have a head and body.

Let's hope your design is better, because I definitly wouldn't want something that looks like that.

The body is a little bigger and extends to the 14th fret for better balance. Also it would be maple and walnut in a natural finish. I really like basses like that because they are so light and sit nicer when they are strapped on. Plus I think that they look cool.

If the body extends that far, will it not be more difficult to reach those frets?

Acoustic guitar is such a great instrument. I still love bass more because I can actually play it (sort of), but acoustic guitar is a close second.
