The WoR guy or Rob Lowe? @IB
Messiah is fantastic, but I prefer Johan to him. Unsure where rob Lowe fits in that (with Candlemass) yet. My girlfriend and I are opening some presents tonight. She got me the new Candlemass DVD, so I'm excited, even though I've already seen it. |
Documents of Doom is ****ing great, I loved it...my dvd >>> yours pate :p
Anyway, Trouble is fantastic :) |
I glad you don't know where I live, because both could answers could go the wrong way. Rob of course. |
 I figured.

Srsly dude, I'm gonna listen to Run To The Light later today :)
|
You need to hear Psalm 9.
|
Goodies in the post this morning included:
Lamp of Thoth - Cauldron of Witchery Tales of Medusa - Legions of Medusa Pagan Altar - Mythical and Magical Pagan Altar - Volume 1 CD Incidently Pagan Altar have just lost their drummer. Hopefully this situation should be jondurred... I mean... sorted in the next few weeks.
How is Tales of Medusa? That would be ****ing amazing if you were Pagan Altar's drummer. I read an interview and they seem very very laid back, I bet you'd have no problem getting in. I can't listen to Psalm 9 anymore due to the lyrics. Pate, are you in Wrath of Ragnarok? If not the guy looks exactly like you. |
Yea, that's him.
|
Psalm 9 is good one. I'll have to check out your band Pate. Doomy stuff I presume?
I'd like to do a Doomy project of some kind. I just finished my Black Metal demo yesterday, kind of excited about that. |
Pate writes some absolutely great riffs.
Do more growls. |

Haha yep that's me. @Fatal: Yes, traditional doom @ND: Thanks |
which one of his albums did you get?
Deflagration. \m/ Lyrics are great. Everything from Dungeons and Dragons to Lord of the Rings to... Iraq? |
I have Pate's discrogpahy
|
How is Tales of Medusa?
It's pretty good. There's a lot of buzz about them partly because they've only released 100 copies which they've given away to friends.
That would be ****ing amazing if you were Pagan Altar's drummer. I read an interview and they seem very very laid back, I bet you'd have no problem getting in.
I've never met them but Rich Walker from Solstice is playing second guitar and thats how I got an audition as I've known him for the best part of 10 years. Apparently they're really fussy about drummers - I quote "They're looking for Bill Ward"! Audition is on Sunday so wish me luck. Even if I don't get it at least I'll have played with Pagan Altar. |
Playing with Pagan Altar sounds like it would be fun, but demanding. Good luck Jondur, hope you get the job.
|
Hope it goes well, Jondur.
|
Good Luck, Jondur. That'll be awesome.
|
Well, I finally got around to downloading some My Dying Bride, Trouble, and Anathema.
|
Yeah, good luck. Killer band.
|
Good luck Jondur.
Lyrics are great. Everything from Dungeons and Dragons to Lord of the Rings to... Iraq?
Haha I'm not responsible for the lyrics. |
Any fans of Zonderhoof?
|
Hmmh my favourite Doom stuff is stuff like:
early Anathema early Paradise Lost My Dying Bride Candlemass Cathedral Boris diSEMBOWELMENT early Katatonia Atataxie Need to look for some new stuff to get into though. |
Try
Solitude Aeturnus Reverend Bizarre Pentagram Pagan Altar Witchfinder General Electric Wizard Orange Goblin |
I'd recommend Warning - Watching from a distance. Best album released this year.
|
Yeah I like a bit of Orange Goblin too :)
But cool, I'll check some of that stuff out, thanks |
Austin, I finally got a chance to listen to that Doom:VS you sent me a while back. It slays. I liked it a lot. I actually found it really easy to sit through the long songs, they were interesting the whole time for the most part.
|
Awesome. Yeah, it's rare for me to enjoy really long songs, but there are some exceptions (like on Hvis Lyset Tar Oss) where I enjoy them despite their length. And with Doom:VS I'm never really bored, haha.
|
The only song I found slightly boring was the last one (Aeturnus). I thought it was about 2 minutes too long, and I didn't really like that style of clean singing that he was using. It's definitely gonna get many more spins to come from me.
Do you like Ahab? |
Yeah, I like Ahab all right. Haven't listened to them in a few weeks, but I do enjoy them when I do.
I need to check out this 1000 Funerals band everyone loves. |
