Wow. I love it.
I had only heard of people stenciling on vinyl a few days ago, and it's pretty neat.
Yea I'm really starting to get into it. I just need to go hit some op shops and grab a heap of cheap vinyl, and get to a store to grab some paint, and something to cut my stencils out with.
how many layer is that and did you spray right on the vinyl. did you design the stincl yourself. i realy like the jacket but the face needs a little work but over all good job
That isn't actually a stencil because I have zero paint at the moment. It's just a print out from the computer I pasted on. I'm going to go and get more paint when I can and I'll actually spray some stencils onto the vinyl.
I like it. It's cool idea that I haven't seen before, don't know what you'll do with it though.
It will probably just end up in my room somewhere, it just looks cool. No real purpose.
That's pretty cool, but what the hell are you going to do with it?
Nothing. It was just something to do for 30 minutes. |
ok this like my last question but what woulb be the easiest way to make like the breaking benjamin symbol. Because if i cut out the actual symbol it will just look like this . thanks for the help im just an idiot.

Cut out the black parts maybe?
|
You're going to need to use one of the tutorials around somewhere for making that into a black and white image. Then you'll want to cut out the black part inside of the logo.
edit: Like this, but done better. |

that would be awesome dude thanks. |
I haven't done anything DIY in awhile.
Suggestions for a project? 2000th post :chug: :smoke: :chug: |
Duct tape wallet?
|
Yeah, but make it look real cool and stencil a design on it or something.
|
Duct Tape wallers are awesome, but usually can't hold more than a few bucks. Which if your true punx, that's too much room for you.
If the weather stays nice this week I'm going to finally spray paint the front of my backpack to cover up some old designs and duct tape residue and the maybe stencil this on there: http://stencilpunx.mattrunningnaked.com/stencils/deadkennedys1.gif http://stencilpunx.mattrunningnaked.com/stencils/deadkennedys2.gif |
What ways do u guys use to hold the stencil down so there is no underspray.I know tape but what a bout for the thin ares like in the "h" or "g" of this http://stencilpunx.mattrunningnaked.com/stencils/streetlight2.gif. Any tips would help.

Spray adhesive works well an isn't expensive. Just make sure it's not permanant. |

Spray Adhesive tends to work well, but wash your shirt before you wear it, if you decide to use it. |

I just use my hand. I don't use tape or any of that fancy s'hit on simple stencils. |

Double stick tape and cut it thin or put it on the back before you cut you the letters. Double stick tape is excellent |
Ok thanks guys i don't know why i didn't think of spray adhesive.
|
Spray adhesive and get the permenant kind because it works way better but the trick is, you spray it, then let it sit for about thirty seconds before you put it on so it won't stay on. And spray the stencil, not the shirt, otherwise you get sticky spots all over.

I made a wallet from Priority mail tape, which is usually free at the post office. Truly punx.
|
That's pretty damn creative
|
Wath out! Rubber cement dosen't work....It stays on the clothes even if you put it on the stencil and is visible even after you run them through the wash a couple of times.
Just a warning |
What the hell are you on about?
|
If you try to use rubber cement to stick a stencil down to not get underspray...it would make more sense if it had got posted on pg. 280 of the DIY thread instead of 281

^thats actually not a bad idea.
|
damn right.
|
Use tape, but just cut it with an X-acto.
|
I get most of my stencils laminated before I cut them.
|
that sounds cool. do you have a picture?
No, I could take one though. It's really nothing special. It's not as good as most of the tape wallets I've seen. I just took the tape and folded it onto itself so it wasn't sticky. Then I just made a wallet shape. I'll take some pictures later. |
the small rocks thing is the **** i used to use that blue painters tape but is expensive takes forever and doen't work as well plus both me an pointless hold down the small islands with are hands as we spary which works well but my fingers are almost always covered in paint
