Austrailians. Can't live with 'em. Can't bomb 'em.
Austrailians. Can't live with 'em. Can't bomb 'em.
Why not?

AIRIC 03-19-2006 12:17 AM

Because they're nice people, they just live in the wrong time zone.

Rise Me Up 03-19-2006 12:22 AM

Truth.

I went to summer camp like two years ago, and one of the instructor guys was Austrailian, and he liked NoFX and Bad Religion and tons of other good music. He was rad. He went back to Austrailia though.:(

AIRIC 03-19-2006 12:26 AM

I met Bolgarian people this summer. They were awesome but they would steal anything that wasn't tied down. They were there for the entire summer and when the Czech and Bolgarian people got together they threw awesome parties. They also smoked these absolutely disgusting cigarettes constantly.

Bulgarian*

AIRIC 03-19-2006 12:29 AM

Is it really?

Brain Toad 03-19-2006 12:30 AM

Yeah.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgaria

Rise Me Up 03-19-2006 12:31 AM

Haha, did they steal anything from you?

We had this Russian school teacher lady come eat dinner with us about a year ago, because she was working at KFC with my sister (along with lots of other Russians) to make money and take it back to Russia. Her name was Svetlaina (Suh-Vet-Lahna) I don't know how to spell it, but she gave us lots of s'hit from Russia. She was neat. She didn't know what a skateboard was. The whole dinner she kept saying how "tasty" everything was. She was awesome.

AIRIC 03-19-2006 12:35 AM

No. Me and my cousins and this guy we worked with Scott were pretty good friends with them. Scott used to hang out with them every night and then we met them at some point. Tony the Bulgarian was my favorite. He would sit on his car and roll a gross cigarette and tell stories in really broken English about girls back in Bulgaria.

Brain Toad 03-19-2006 12:36 AM

I had an African guy as a "sub" in one of my soc classes last week. He was from Kenya. He was really cool, knew a lot of neat stuff and had a really nice lecture style. He was a bit hard to understand, but I liked his views more than my regular teacher who is a little spoiled white boy from NY who went to Harvard and now teaches here and speaks about racial issue, poor straification and enjoys rap music.

Rise Me Up 03-19-2006 12:39 AM

Your teacher sounds like the guy on Malibu's Most Wanted. My dad hung out with this African guy one day and he was really intelligent.

AIRIC 03-19-2006 12:41 AM

How many people are in your classes Nick? Are they huge rooms or smaller classes?

Brain Toad 03-19-2006 12:55 AM
How many people are in your classes Nick? Are they huge rooms or smaller classes?
My classes this semester are between 20-30 and people, all in standard classrooms. Last semester my music lit class had 90 students and was in a large room with stadium style seating. I also had a History class that had 100+ students and it was in a hug auditorium type room, but I dropped that class after the first day.

It's probably because many people in Africa really value education. I love having teachers from former colonized countries because they have a better view of education. My chem teacher was from Lebanon and he really valued the education system and loved teaching and his students.

Hey, thanks for taking care of the spammers in pop-punk Nick. Much appreciated.

Brain Toad 03-19-2006 01:10 AM

No problem, was just going in there to check out the Lifetime thread and noticed his spam.

I think I just reviewed what may be the worst song I've ever encountered in Forced Listening.

Shtein 03-19-2006 07:43 AM

Anybody do anything interesting for March Break/Spring Break? I went to South Carolina but that place was a s'hit hole besides the resort I stayed at. I would say that I had the best time yesterday, St.Patty's day.

Turns out, we have to have the cd in to the people who are mastering it, by April 9th. So now I have no clue what I'm doing.

My break hasn't started yet. It's in about two weeks. My friend is also going to South Carolina for spring break, and it's going to suck.

I'm not sure what I'm doing over break, but if I end up doing nothing (because some of my friends have become extremely lame recently) then I'm going to be kind of mad.

However, my birthday is during the break, so that'll be nice.
