wait, you like mewithoutyou? or do you just like watching the guy dance around stage shouting into a mic and then randomly playing an accordian
And he bangs on a pan.
What bands are similar to CTTS?

And i cant go, look where i live. I havent heard any news onteh new thursday CD in a while.
Ahh, I didn't see that, but really it's worth the 6(ish) hour drive. I'm flying to Jersey to "visit my mom", not to see Thursday, who just happened to be playing at the same time.

Pg. 99, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, and City Of Caterpillar.

The last one I'm not certain 'cause I haven't given it a listen yet but the other two are great.

Permanent Solution 11-14-2005 06:35 PM
well, i'll admit that the song gentleman is pretty good, but it really depends what mood im in if im going to listen to them.
I have both full lengths and their EP and enjoy it lots. :)

But like any music it can be mood dependent.
Pg. 99, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, and City Of Caterpillar.

From what I've heard of #12 and CTTS, they're nothing alike. But, eh.

I was really in a mewithoutyou mood the other night and it cheered me up lots. They're awesome IMO :)

Vince: Similar enough, from what I've heard anyways. Still, nothing tops CTTS at what they do.

billiejoe84 11-14-2005 06:36 PM

Ahh God I'm getting nervy about the potential gig now. I just found out that we're playing on a bill with 4 other bands and 3 acoustic acts. So it's gonna be a pretty big night. The only good thing is that the audience will be drunk students, which is a plus.

Fish 11-14-2005 06:37 PM
And he bangs on a pan.
hahah yes! that was so funny :p

edit/ permanent solution, is that you vince?

cobert 11-14-2005 06:47 PM

B 11-14-2005 06:50 PM

Yes Dave, it's Vince.

Spence, I'm on my 6th lager of the eve. I'm torn between pretending to be blind drunk, or acting really sober, in either case to worry you.

You shall have to guess what my real state is.

Male volleyball? Where has that been all my life?

Surtr 11-14-2005 08:03 PM

3,000th post :D Just figured I'd do this now, so I don't forget about it and waste my 3,000th by accident. Night all, I must get my rest, PE Mid-Term tomorrow :( I hate running unless your chasing a ball of some sort.

Heh, just because you pretend to be controversial doesn't mean any of us have to pretend to care.

/me quotes your 2999th post

My views on those bands are:

Zep - good (obviously as I'm listening to them)
Beatles - most over-rated band I've ever heard
Metallica - awesome
Hendrix - Not my cuppa tea, but I can appreciate his talent as a musician, and he has influenced so many rock guitarists in some way.

Can someone recommend me a Death Cab For Cutie album/EP? I'm looking at my housemate's music on our network, and he has 8 DCFC CDs on his computer. I've heard some good things about them, and wanna check them out. Help?

Rightly so. People should speak their minds rather than trying to not offend people... Political correctness is one of my big hates.

Very true. One of the few rock/metal bands I really enjoy.

B 11-14-2005 08:25 PM

I know too many people who are completely obsessed with Metallica. Yeah, I don't take them seriously. The people I mean, not the band. The band is decent I guess.
