sketchyjoe 03-18-2006 06:39 AM

I'm not a big fan of the idea of seeing Blink 182 and Alexisonfire albums every time I visit the punk forum.

I know, people might think we're a couple of pussys in here.

I think we should comlain.

sketchyjoe 03-18-2006 10:08 AM

I've really been digging The Orphans lately. They're Erik Petersen's pre-Mischief Brew band. It's not as good as Mischief Brew but it is solid orignal political punk rock. The songs Outwitted, Raise the Youth, and Big Brother, Bigger Mother are all great punk songs with the former bearing a ska tinge and you can really see Mischief Brew in the songs, What Reason Have They To Dance?, Anorexic Mind and For an Old Kentucky Anarchist which are probably the best on the album.

Flagjacket 03-18-2006 10:11 AM

I know a band called the Orphans ecept they sound nothing like you described.
Mad Caddies
I know exactly what you mean.

sketchyjoe 03-18-2006 10:38 AM

So there's another new forum I'll only visit once in a million years. I'm so excited.

Is it too early to start a forum war with pop/pop-rock?

RetiredAt21 03-18-2006 10:39 AM

No.

Liebensaft 03-18-2006 10:45 AM
Joe #2, why don't you meet Joe once you get to the concert?
Well, first I was just going to ask someone on their way in to say I was with them to avoid the rule against 16 and unders having to be accompanied. That seemed like it'd be really easy. Then I remembered Joe was going and I figured I might as well meet an MX'er if I'm going to be in the same building. My parents both seem to reject the idea of making any kind of contact with anyone from the internet, which I really can't blame them for. But I can't seem to understand why they'd be against me asking someone on their way in to "escort" me. Ghey indeed.

DaveToopes 03-18-2006 11:02 AM

I'm saying that you should meet once you are INSIDE the concert!!

Liebensaft 03-18-2006 11:03 AM

Oh. Well, I'd do it if I can go.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 03-18-2006 11:11 AM

Hey guys.

DaveToopes 03-18-2006 11:12 AM

G'morning Jack.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 03-18-2006 11:13 AM

I made a thread about Allanis Morisette in pop.

Liebensaft 03-18-2006 11:13 AM

Punx.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 03-18-2006 11:14 AM

Yeah I know. Allanis is the punxest.

it could be too late

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 03-18-2006 01:35 PM

Whenever I hear a Refused song that's pre-Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent, I always think they have a different singer. There's alot less screaming and alot more rhytmic/rapping type stuff. Take "Pump the Brakes" for example. No screaming. Sounds like nu-metal at parts.

Strange.
I'm not a big fan of the idea of seeing Blink 182 and Alexisonfire albums every time I visit the punk forum.
I was trying to write a Greasemonkey (Firefox extension that utilizes scripts to change pages) script to remove those little boxes from the forums, but I suck with Javascript and only managed to remove the top part.
I know, people might think we're a couple of pussys in here.
The punk section of reviews are horrible. I think with those up there it will promote people to think they can discuss those bands here. A solution is to start doing good punk reviews, but that never happens.

Danger Bird 03-18-2006 01:43 PM

Hey guys...

Subhumans concert is a week from now!!

Glitterati 03-18-2006 03:19 PM

Hey we have a new forum

I got first post in the Barenaked Ladies thread

Brain Toad 03-18-2006 03:31 PM

I used to know a person who was obsessed with them and tried to get me to listen. I was not impressed. I've only liked One Week and Brian Wilson from them.

RetiredAt21 03-18-2006 04:26 PM

So, I just wandered into the pop-punk forum, and as usual, I'm astonished at how stupid most of those people are.

Flagjacket 03-18-2006 04:28 PM

Everytime is like the first time.

RetiredAt21 03-18-2006 04:35 PM

Hahahaha.

Yeah I don't really dig the pop-punk forum.

sketchyjoe 03-18-2006 05:44 PM

I almost never go there but I did post in that pop-punk 20 song compilation thread.

DaveToopes 03-18-2006 05:48 PM

I go to The Pit if I'm ever REALLY bored.

That one does rule, as well as the Cool New People Remover, Media Remover, and Ad Remover.

Some of the scripts for Last.fm are nifty too.

El Punko 03-18-2006 06:52 PM

Im not familiar with it, but it sounds interesting. Where can I get it and some scripts?

Brain Toad 03-18-2006 07:09 PM
Im not familiar with it, but it sounds interesting. Where can I get it and some scripts?
It's an extension for firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=748&application=firefox

You get the scripts at http://www.userscripts.org

Skidmark Steve 03-18-2006 11:14 PM

Man, the forums been dead all day.

Rise Me Up 03-18-2006 11:33 PM
Man, the forums been for weeks.
Fixed.

TakeWarning 03-18-2006 11:34 PM

It's dead most times I come on, becuase all the Americans are asleep usually, and the British kids are at school or Uni.
