Frankenstein them into a cheapie electric kit for when you DO want to play them?
Still not much room for them in my house. Back when my basement was one big open space, there was plenty of room, but we finished it, and set up the walls with my drums being the last thing we considered, and therefore, unless I want to be completely cramped in my bedroom, I can't even store them anywhere.

Undisco Kidd 02-18-2007 10:53 PM

Hard to explain. Go to youtube and search for the video for the song Sly.

Its fun rock with trumpets and stuff. Very chill.

Gary Lover 02-18-2007 10:54 PM

Sounds good. Will do.

Well, if I were you, I'd trade in or sell some cymbals and stuff for a B8 Ride + Crash (or prosonix or whatever) and with get whatever you need for Mandolin or whatever else, give the kids the set. Tada.

you guys have any idea where a good place for my cowbell would be?

poopoogaypoon 02-18-2007 10:56 PM

^sup coco

We_Love_Lime 02-18-2007 10:57 PM

I webcamed a chick, asking her if my chest hair was attractive.
And she said I didn't look too fit:(

Gary Lover 02-18-2007 10:57 PM

You might want to get one of those accessory arms a lot of the latin cats use to hold their bells and doodads. You can usually find them a lot of places and mount them on a cymbal stand.

Little Android Man 02-18-2007 10:57 PM

i have a mount, but asking where to put it, i just moved my setup around.

Hmm, that's a fairly good idea. I'm going next week to buy a guitar amp, definately going to check out some used amps at pawn shops and such first. I'll think about it.

Ah. Maybe you can attach it on the ride stand between your 2nd tom and floor tom, or swing it to the right hovering next to your floor tom.

By the way, very cool music, Porkupine! I liked it a lot.

Wow, that is really cool stuff. I am finished with the first song and am listening to the second. Very instense, awesome drumming. I like the overall timbre of the instrumentation too. I need to get my hands on an album!

I will check out the acoustic stuff next.

Omgz Are Those The Three Mustketeers And D'artagnan Gary!??!

Gary Lover 02-18-2007 11:14 PM

I will admit that I have been a little ignorant in picking an avatar; I'm not sure what it is. I just stumbled on it somewhere. I couldn't find anything very cool for an avatar.

Gary :thumb:

We_Love_Lime 02-18-2007 11:26 PM

Haha yeah.

We_Love_Lime 02-18-2007 11:30 PM

I would have just been like
YEAH!
It's the three musketeers.
Mad props.

It won't let me rep you.

Gary Lover 02-18-2007 11:31 PM

Haha, it's cool, Lime. :p

Poopoogayponn - I watched the acoustic clip. Very nice!

Good night.

Seafroggys 02-18-2007 11:50 PM

check out my solo entry!

Sunshine 02-18-2007 11:54 PM

Damnit.

I've always wanted to be in a band called "Anarchy Club."

Not because I'm an anarchist in any way, shape or form, but because it's ironic [but nobody understands or appreciates the irony but me :(].

But there already WAS a little project calld Anarchy Club.

What a waste =(

We_Love_Lime 02-18-2007 11:58 PM

Is Anarchy Club as ironic as a whole gay band whose name is "We're not Gay?"

Or.

Hmph.

Sunshine 02-19-2007 12:00 AM

Or when you're at a small show and the lead singer of the band you're seeing, who is 17, is drinking from a can with a piece of paper wrapped around it that clearly states, in big bold letters, "NOT BEER?"

We_Love_Lime 02-19-2007 12:05 AM

Well.
You could think it was Coca-Cola.
Those come in cans.

Maybe it would be like:
When you're at a small show and the lead singer of the band you're seeing, who is 17, is drinking from a can with a piece of paper wrapped around it that clearly states, in big bold letters, "NOT A CAN?"

Sunshine 02-19-2007 12:09 AM

It was obviously beer, though.
The really rank kind that you can smell.
Plus...well...everybody knew it was beer.
Not only was he 17, the small venue was an all-ages thing, "no beer allowed."
Run by one of the New York Dolls, actually. One of the not-dead ones.

We_Love_Lime 02-19-2007 12:10 AM

Ahh.
I catch your drift.
That would be Ironic.
Actually.
I caught your drift until the New York Dolls.
And I was like.
A Doll?
Than I realised it was a punk thing.
And I'm not white.
I think I'm going to give my drums away. I never play them, and now there's going to be no room in my house for them. They've been collecting dust for the past 2 months.

I'll keep my marching snare, a stand, my hardimons, and pad, but the rest I've barely touched at all.

:(
ill give u a guitar for them

Gary Lover 02-19-2007 12:14 AM

How old is this guy?

Gary :thumb:

poopoogaypoon 02-19-2007 12:16 AM

Gary Lover 02-19-2007 12:18 AM

Wow, great playing by a young guy.

Pauly 02-19-2007 12:26 AM

Here's an Aussie band I've been digging lately (prog/rock). I first heard the singer perform for another band, and was quite impressed.

http://www.myspace.com/karnivool

Have a listen to Roquefort. They added a couple brass instruments throughout the song on the version at their myspace, which aren't on the CD. It makes the song a bit cheesy. Oh well.

The drummer is decent, nothing spectacular. The vocals are great though.

_Wrathchild_ 02-19-2007 12:29 AM

My brother came home today to visit. I hadn't seen him in a couple months.
And he told me he met Gene Hogan awhile ago  No fair!

And this should go in the L&R, but I'm too lazy to make 2 separate posts.
So my ex boyfriend flew in to see me on Valentine's Day in an attempt to win me back and we hung out for a few days. He couldn't afford to come originally, so he took back his brand new limited edition Dunnett snare that he loved so he could afford a plane ticket. Argh I felt so bad :upset:
And we are now back together.

We_Love_Lime 02-19-2007 12:32 AM

haha you better be.
You'd be a jerk otherwise.

JK.
