Iron Bug 03-16-2006 06:00 PM

It's all so clear now.

sketchyjoe 03-16-2006 06:14 PM

They've stated in interviews that's actually the sound they were going for.

Jessizzle 03-16-2006 06:31 PM

Flagjacket 03-16-2006 06:32 PM

I have no snow. Which rules since SNOW IS SO GAY.

asdf 03-16-2006 06:33 PM

Yes, I'm enjoying the lack of snow. Really looking forward to things warming up.

obese_breasts 03-16-2006 06:47 PM

There's tax in California, it sucks.

Skidmark Steve 03-16-2006 06:50 PM

It's suppose to snow a little tomorrow. The weather been weird this winter. It goes from hot, to cold, to rain, to snow...

I have a headache.

I'm out of school tommorrow.
Vermont has no sales tax?

I know Oregon doesn't. It was really freaky when I went there and stuff actually cost as much as it said it did. It was also weird when WalGreens was closed at 6 and the movie theater at 9.

It ****ing snowed here last weekend. In SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! In mountains about 5 miles from the beach. It was crazy.

Nerdcore753 03-16-2006 07:58 PM

I have it on slsk.

Jessizzle 03-16-2006 08:03 PM

In most places isnt it no tax on clothing under 100$? for america anyways/

Brain Toad 03-16-2006 08:10 PM
In most places isnt it no tax on clothing under 100$? for america anyways/
There's tax on clothes. No tax on certain food items like milk and bread.
It ****ing snowed here last weekend. In SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! In mountains about 5 miles from the beach. It was crazy.
It's snowed here twice in the past 2 weeks, sometimes under 1000 feet.

Jessizzle 03-16-2006 08:11 PM

We have tax on like 5 cent candies, its dumb.

Brain Toad 03-16-2006 08:14 PM
We have tax on like 5 cent candies, its dumb.
I'm pretty sure we do too. Only food that doesn't get taxed is 'unprepared' stuff. Maybe Vermont just has a low tax rate and isn't noticable.

Vermont has weird taxes
Vermont has a 6% state sales tax. Purchases of clothing under $100 are not taxed. The Towns of Williston, Manchester, and Stratton add a 1% local option sales tax
obese_breasts 03-16-2006 08:14 PM

so do we. There is sales take on everything in CA.

Rise Me Up 03-16-2006 08:14 PM

Down sides to free health care; Canada has really high tax.

obese_breasts 03-16-2006 08:17 PM

I'm fairly sure most states in the US don't have sales tax. or at least have rates lower than about 8%

EDIT: Actually I'm full of shit.

Rise Me Up 03-16-2006 08:18 PM

Ours is like 9%, I think.

Brain Toad 03-16-2006 08:20 PM
so do we. There is sales take on everything in CA.
Everything except prepared food.
Down sides to free health care; Canada has really high tax.
Sweden has nearly 50% tax I think because of all the services they provide.
I'm fairly sure most states in the US don't have sales tax. or at least have rates lower than about 8%
California's flat sales tax is 7.25%, different counties add a bunch more. Alameda has the highest at 8.75%

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sales_taxes_in_the_United_States

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon have no Sales tax

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_without_sales_tax

AndreTheHyena 03-16-2006 08:22 PM

Does California have a beach tax? We did in Florida, it was pretty stupid.

That's crazy.

Liebensaft 03-16-2006 08:23 PM

6% tax

Up the PA punx.

Brain Toad 03-16-2006 08:24 PM
Does California have a beach tax? We did in Florida, it was pretty stupid.
That does sound stupid. It sucks to live in a county with BART though, taxes shoot up so much. But at least you got a really good public transport system unlike say Solano where I live.

sketchyjoe 03-16-2006 08:25 PM

There's VAT in the UK on certain items (cigarettes, petrol alcohol, some food, some books, a bunch of other stuff) that's usually 17.5%, I think.

AndreTheHyena 03-16-2006 08:26 PM

Nick, do the different Unchained discs have different names or themes? For instance, disc 1 seems to have a lot of train songs...

Jessizzle 03-16-2006 08:27 PM

We have 15% tax its bad.

sketchyjoe 03-16-2006 08:28 PM
Nick, do the different Unchained discs have different names or themes? For instance, disc 1 seems to have a lot of train songs...
Do you mean Unearthed?

I only know that the fifth disc is just a "Best of" for the American series.

Brain Toad 03-16-2006 08:29 PM

US has taxes added to cigs and alcohol and then another tax on gas, which makes the price even higher. I think its federal and not state controlled.
Nick, do the different Unchained discs have different names or themes? For instance, disc 1 seems to have a lot of train songs...
I think you meant Unearthed, Unchained is the name of American II.

I think they do, but don't know the names.

EDIT: Wikipedia to the rescure:

Disc 1 - Who's Gonna Cry
Disc 2 - Trouble in Mind
Disc 3 - Redemption Songs
Disc 4 - My Mother's Hymn Book
Disc 5 - Best of Johnny Cash on American

ViciousLove 03-16-2006 08:31 PM
Thanks. Ilu Jackie. :chug:
Haha, Ilyt.

Tax here is 8.25%, according to my Long's receipt.

I've always felt that Disc 5 is a bit unnecessary. Not many people are going to get this who don't have all the American recordings already.

Brain Toad 03-16-2006 08:36 PM
I've always felt that Disc 5 is a bit unnecessary. Not many people are going to get this who don't have all the American recordings already.
I haven't listened to it in a long time, but yeah having it on there was kind of odd. My Mother's Hymn Book was released separately too.
