They look like poopy Slingerland lugs. as far as snares (under 6 inches deep) are concerned, bowties or tube lugs.

You could check out some rat trap lugs (pricey) or egonis, though. I'm pretty sure thats what BSU_53 used.

Ask yourself: is it REALLY worth the work and cost?

Building a snare costs a lot. You can't hear it first, either. Most companies can sell you a snare just as good for about 100 dollars less. All you really get is the 'I built it myself' factor, unless you do something crazy with the finish or size.

about 100 bucks less and about 20 hours less work.

Not to mention the fear of making mistakes (your first snare isn't going to be your best)

And if you grow tired of it, a Piglite is going to sell a lot better than a homemade Keller.
