Today for my music class, it was my turn to share an album and I brought in Traffic- John Barleycorn Must Die. The principal of my school is a really cool guy and he was at our class because he has to go around to classes and observe them once in a while. He said that John Barleycorn Must Die was one of his favorite albums ever. Cool guy.

**** man, there is no better song than Dark Star for toking up. It's all groovy at the start right when you're getting into everything, then suddenly you realize how stoned you are...and it's right in the middle of the super psychedelic part in the middle of the song. Heh heh, now I came on here to talk to you guys and there's still a few minutes of the song left, this is awesome. I'm gonna have to thank Badmoon, because I really never got into the Grateful Dead until I came to this site and Badmoon was like one of the dominant forces in the CR thread yet he was really just a Grateful Dead noob. I don't really mind System of a Down, I don't own any of their albums, or have any of their songs on my computer...and maybe that's the reason I still have nothing against them. But I don't mind them. At least they are fairly original/interesting.

yeah. winrar's is like, permanent though. you never have to buy it, despite what it says.

Yeah, WinZip always asks me to choose the free trial version or the pay version and every time it switches the buttons around so I accidently click the pay one.

That rapidshare sure isn't very rapid if you have the free version, I downloaded one album fairly quickly (listening to it now, Complex, it's awesome!) but this next album is taking like an hour.

And that's a lot of Grateful Dead, Jon.

Rapidshare sucks.

When it's free, you can't have more than 1 at a time. And you're limited to like 90 megs per hour or some bogus number. I rather use megaupload, even though it's slow.

Ah whatever, I don't need to download stuff that fast anyways. Have any of you downloaded any of those albums on the site? I'm interested in hearding your opinions on them...the guy who owned the site kept saying that it wasn't just for download, but for discussion..but I couldn't figure out where the discussion section was.

The album I downloaded was by Complex, it was self titled. I haven't had a chance to listen to all of it, because my brother is sleeping on the couch beside the computer and I'm cooking supper in the kitchen so I can't really turn it loud enough to hear. My brother is very grouchy. It's been a great album so far, the vocals are a little too bright and poppy for my liking but that's how a lot of psychedelia is. There was a great guitar solo on like the second or third song. Catchy songs too (at least some of them are)

edit - Josie sounds like a 12 bar blues with a reggae guitar rhythm/drum beat and an organ playing some pretty damn good lead. I'm surprised this album wasn't a huge hit.

I downloaded the Reaction s/t. It's not bad, but nothing special. I wanted to check out the Crosscut Saw album, but I had already downloaded Reaction.

I wondered how I listened to 322 Dead songs. That puzzles me. I didn't go to my dad's house for the weekend, so that's probably why..

Oh I figured out why it was slow the second time...a bunch of "premes" were downloading the same album I was so I had to wait in a long line or something. My third album only took a couple minutes. My second album didn't even end up downloading, after taking over an hour. It said it tried to do something that only the paying customers could do. That's bull****.

edit - And I notice there's a Billy Cox solo album on there...it sounds good. And the Arthur Lee one too.
